Rand Paul Hires Former Santorum Campaign Manager...(REALLY?)

Why in the world would Rand choose Santorum's old campaign manager?

Santorum is very much an interventionist, Arab-hating, WAR-monger. AND Chief Ron Paul- hater.

So who is going to change their thinking on foreign policy, Rand or his new manager? Very strange.

And does this mean Rand will start wearing sweater vests?

If this guy got Santorum as far as he did he must be a genius.

If this guy got Santorum as far as he did he must be a genius. Besides, he hired him as a campaign manager not a Policy adviser.

Death to all pandas

Ron Paul hired a Bush man.

Ron Paul hired a Bush man. Lol! You guys are funny.

Ron Paul worked with Santorum supporters against Romney

Why not Rand? Evangelicals matter in the GOP tent Rand is trying to build.

If he can manage to separate them from the neo-con influence, more power to him.

Hey, don't get too carried away about this.

At least he didn't hire Jesse Benton for that spot.

lol, Oh,..you can say that again!

My thoughts exactly!

It doesnt matter...

because they aren't gonna give Rand a chance to win anyways... Oops~ did I say that out loud?... LOL

A campaign manager manages

A campaign manager manages the actual campaigning of the candidate. Budgets, schedules, etc. He doesn't influence the policies of the candidate. Rick Santorum was one of the more serious contenders(I know, weird.) in the Republican race, so it would make sense that he had a fairly experienced campaign manager.

I'm not so sure...

that campaign managers don't influence the policies of the candidate. Look at Karl Rove! He was Bush's brain.

Minnesota Mary

OK...

Look at Dick Morris...Clintons boy (said with a cough) and serial Neo-Con...

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Its called Infiltration....

The Establishment knows that if they do exactly what they did with Obama, that is surround him with Establishment people and influences, then there will be no change, and no reform.

This is how they always retain power...by Infiltration.

So Rand has Establishment people running his Campaign (which also means they are keeping tabs on everything that he is doing or saying), and he will also have Establishment Advisors and Policy-people.

His Cabinet will, just like Obama, be made up of the same old Wall-Street hacks, and Neocons. He father won't even get a Cabinet post at all.

This is all very predictable.
In America, there is no change and there is no honesty.

And if Rand Paul cannot stand up to Israel, the how is he ever going to stand up to the Central Bank, or the CIA?

I have no doubt Rand will cut

I have no doubt Rand will cut some back room deals to give Establishment types cabinet posts when it comes down to it at the convention, but I still say he's our best option. The guy has Murray Rothbard as suggested reading on his Senate website for heaven sakes. Other than his dad, who else would ever do that?

Also, I think it is highly unlikely Ron will get a cabinet post, because I don't think he wants it. Let the man be, he's fought the hard fight.

Understand....

Understand that every President, and every administration has surrounded themselves with CFR insiders (Council on Foreign Relations), Wall-Street insiders (including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Chase, CityBank, etc.), Warmongering Neocons, and Rockefeller Think-Tank personnel.

And this is exactly why nothing ever changes. The same policy people are in the front, setting the actual policy, and framing the issues.

You can cut Rand all the slack you want, but if he has the same type of people around him then nothing will be allowed to change. You cannot be a reformer, unless you first hire and cultivate reformers.

Business as usual = Policy as usual.

Dang, We might as well give up!

according to your version of the future.

I'm not giving up. My future reality is way different than yours.

Winning!

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself within" W. Durant

What will you win?

Pro-Israel policies?
Pro-Iran-Sanction policies?
Pro-Isolate-Russia policies?
Welfare for the Rich, cuts for the Poor policies?
?

Winning requires that there are new advisers, new thinking, new polices, new 'talking-points', new priorities.

But you can't do that with people from the Establishment.

The only way reform will happen is for someone to come in there and clean house in the CIA, Joint Chiefs, State Dept, and create a different mind set.

just

curious. Did the establishment get together and decide this would be the best course of action? Who are they and when did they meet? What else do you think they have planned????

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm just well-informed

Guy gets job pumping gas at an Exxon Station....

Guy needs new job...what are his qualifications?

Pump Jockey....

Job comes up at Texaco Station...

Should he be hired since he worked for other Stations who were competitors? He has no brand loyalty..only the ability to pump gas...does it matter?

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Pump Jockey that only pumps

Pump Jockey that only pumps Premium bullsh*t and bankrupted his employer.
Analogy fixed.

Nothing wrong with the analogy....

...just facts about prospective employee added....certainly facts that will beg for further questioning in the hiring process.

1. It has come to our attention that you have only pumped Premium and we will need someone to pump Regular, Plus, Premium and Diesel. Can you explain why it is that you have only pumped Premium?

2. It has been alleged that your pumping of Premium only may have had a negative impact on the profitability of your previous employer and there is an attached assumption that this is all your fault. Can you explain this for me?

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Think how bad Sontorum was and then see how far he went

This guy probably knows how to jerk the chain in the GOP.

Apparently principles don't

Apparently principles don't matter. Only winning matters.

You don't know what your

You don't know what your talking about. It's just a persons job to run a campaign. I'd hire a neocons campaign manager if he can win an election. Why not?

I'm sure it will be a match

I'm sure it will be a match made in heaven. You can rest easy.

"The United States can pay any debt it has because we can always print money to do that." — Alan Greenspan

Actually this is great news!

Actually this is great news! Rand is going to kill it in Iowa and New Hampshire! Can't freakin wait! This is going to be a ho down and I'm gonna party like its 1999! Yehaw!

Principles do matter.

The second principle that I follow (the first is NAP) is to see people as individuals. Santorum's ex campaign manager is an individual. There is no reason to believe that, because he worked for Santorum, that his views align with Santorum's.

I don't know who you people are. You're not the people I've been involved with for the last 6 years.

Is it ok to hire a Bush aid?

Is it ok to hire a Bush aid? Ron Paul did, I don't understand why Ron gets a pass on everything that Rand gets criticized for. I like Ron, and I think Doug Wead did a good job. Yes, this move by Rand may be horrible, but I don't know yet.

Putting words in my mouth, Stone? Want to think for me too now?

No, I asked a question. Ron

No, I asked a question. Ron Paul hired Doug Wead. Was he a sellout because of that?

Sorry it didn't look like a

Sorry it didn't look like a question earlier. Maybe I didn't read it right.

Maybe I quit giving a damn 5 minutes ago. Do what you guys want.
I'll try and refrain from saying I told you so later. I'll tell you this much. I'm done with Rand.

He avoided the question.

He avoided the question. Interesting...
