Rick Santorum Basically Announces He’s Running for President in 2016

He was an unexpected runner-up in the 2012 Republican presidential primary and now it looks as though Rick Santorum is gearing up for another run at the party ticket in 2016. During an interview with Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg Tuesday, the former senator all but confirmed that he would be throwing his sweater vest in the ring.

You can't make this up...

Judging from past comments he's made ...

... he doesn't enter to win. He'll enter to try to prevent others from winning.

Can't he PLEASE just leave the rest of us peaceful protesters to the status quo alone?

Maybe the insane Sanitorium can hire Ron Paul's ex-manager...

...for his campaign, since Rand has Sanitorium's old manager working for him now.

Hell, maybe they'll end up on the same ticket.

That would be one way to get the establishment republican vote.

But only if Rand was his running mate.

Somebody post this to his facebook page PLEASE!

Then Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum thought enough of Jerry Sandusky nine years ago to sponsor the former Penn State defense coordinator for a “Congressional Angels in Adoption” award, citing his work with a non-profit group he founded to provide care for foster children.

“Its philosophy is simple: it is easier to develop a child than to rehabilitate an adult,” read the citation in the awards dinner program from Sept. 24, 2002.

MY question to Santorum campaign: Can Rick be rehabilitated after this?

Santorum everybody!

Santorum is spreading!!! Quick, get the bucket and mop!

Good, it will divide the

Good, it will divide the social conservatives' choices but don't get overconfident.

There are more serious, primary-voting social conservatives than serious, primary-voting libertarians. Think about that. Liberty is doing much, much better than ever before in the modern era. But liberty is not yet winning. Onward.

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

I look forward to the added comedy & tantrums in the 2016 race.

Mr. Santorum, why do you want to be president?

"THE BUTTON!!!" "I JUST WANNA PUSH THE BUTTON!!!" "WE'VE GOT RUSSIA, UKRAINE, GAZA, AFGHANISTAN, IRAQ, SYRIA, AND ALL THESE COUNTRIES THAT NEED TO BE DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY!!!" "NOW GIMME THE BUTTON!!!!" "GIMME IT DAMMIT!!!" I DESERVE TO BE... THE ONE to... *sniffle* just... push the BUH-hhu-TTONnnn... Waaaaaaa Hnaaaa Hnaaaaaaaa..."

"All I want... Waaa Hnaaa Hnaaa... is the button..."

"And... I am even pro-life too-hoo-hoo... I swear on m... your... mother's grave... "

And Mr. Santorum, How would you fix the economy?

"Ummm... We could blow it up."

And the border?

"Boom."

He's running

to try to keep Rand from winning Iowa. Probably getting paid by Dick Cheney.

*sigh* I just realized the

*sigh* I just realized the only person who made me want to watch the debates - Ron Paul - will not be there. Rand might do a good job but the truth Ron spat out made me stand and clap each and every time and I don't know if Rand will have the same effect.

Glenn Beck / Rick Santorum

IDK why but when I hear anything about Rick Sanatorium I imminently think of Glenn Douchebag.

Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a 100% fatality rate.
Don't Give me Liberty, I'll get up and get it myself!

Before he

goes to all the trouble to actually be a candidate, can We the People have proof that his father became a citizen before Rick was born? That issue has never been proven, one way or the other.

BECAUSE if Rick's father became a citizen after Rick's birth, then Rick is NOT a natural born citizen.

I loathe Santorum. Most issues I have against him have been mentioned below, like his being a hypocrite by voting to fund planned parenthood...like his nominating Sandusky for an Angel in Adoptions Award AFTER Sandusky had already been accused of child molesting at least 5 times.

What I also haven't seen mentioned is his charging Pennsylvania for his children's education when they lived in Virginia, plus his refusal to pay back that money...and his ripping off veterans to the tune of $80 million. http://disabledveterans.org/2012/01/22/santorum-put-the-scre...

I shared

I also forgot to mention the fact that the hypocrite's wife had a medically-induced abortion, but he doesn't want anybody else to have that option...plus his wife lived out-of-wedlock for years with a much-older abortion provider, who also was the doctor that delivered her!

"Whether a 1-2 term POTUS, I pledge to keep us involved in war"

What a campaign slogan that is going to make!

AAahhhhhhH!!!!

Now we'll hear the frothy jokes for the next year and a half.

I can't believe people actually vote for that douche.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

I've met Santorum a couple of times

and suffice it to say, after our last encounter I bet I was perceived as a "libertarian asshole". IDC

because, you know...

the country and GOP have shifted much more pro-war, anti-drug, anti-gay in the last 4 years.

I'm sure he'll do great.

Well, at least the debates will be

entertaining. The Ayatollah Santorum's always good for a laugh.

Would be fun to have both Frothy & Petie King

and watch them both get b*tch slapped by Rand.

Pedophiles just don't

become pedophiles in their 50's. Sandusky started his "charity" in 1977.

"Prosecutors allege that Sandusky found his victims through the charity he started in 1977 and committed many of his offenses inside Penn State football buildings. He has pleaded innocent to more than 50 counts of sexual abuse involving 10 alleged victims and awaits a June trial."

http://bigstory.ap.org/content/sandusky-charity-shut-down-tr...

The first time Sandusky gets caught is 1995? World Net Daily did an investigation, what they found should have shocked the American people.

Where is the former president of Penn State:

"His lawyer confirms to the Loop that Spanier is working on a part-time consulting basis for a “top-secret” agency on national security issues. But the gig is so hush-hush, he couldn’t even tell his attorneys the name of the agency. In April — months after his ouster as president but before the release of the internal report — he told the Patriot-News of central Pennsylvania that he was working on a “special project for the U.S. government relating [to] national security.”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/in-the-loop/post/graham-...

This guy is working on a special project for the US Government relating to National Security and he claims he didn't know anything about what was going on at Penn State? This should make all of us feel safer, don't you think?

July, 2014:

Dauphin County Judge Todd Hoover is going to make a huge decision that could even result in the charges being thrown out. Former school president Graham Spanier, former athletic director Tim Curley and former vice president Gary Schultz are accused of covering up Jerry Sandusky's sex crimes against minors.

Santorum-Sandusky Campaign Ad?

“Its philosophy is simple,” said Santorum of Sandusky’s charity, “It is easier to develop a child than to rehabilitate an adult.” - 2002

Santorum, who has cultivated an image as a clean-cut social conservative trumpeting family values, nominated Sandusky for a “Congressional Angels in Adoption Award,” after Sandusky had already been accused of at least five cases of child molestation.

"One resists the invasion of armies; one does not resist the invasion of ideas" Victor Hugo

Quote: Rick Santorum on Libertarians...

"This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I don’t think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want.
Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can’t go it alone. There is no such society that I am aware of, where we’ve had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a, a culture."

"Don’t give me this idea — I hear this: ‘Oh, you’re a moralist. You’re trying to impose your values.’ Everybody’s trying to impose their values. That’s what America’s about." -Rick Santorum

When the timing is right,

When the timing is right, Rand should do a rebuttal piece, wearing Rick Perry glasses and a Frothy sweater vest, SNL style. It would be pure gold.

Just Another Reason

not to vote.

Rick would be a valuable addition to the race.

Santorum was the only candidate dumb enough to try to engage Ron Paul in the debates in 2012. He should be fun to watch.

I can only hope Rep. Pete King will enter the race. He would really he a hoot.

The other Rick (Perry) is the one to watch. Maybe this time he'll remember which 3 federal departments he wants to cut.

tasmlab's picture

He'd be better off remembering not to give out a number

His mistake was telling everybody there was THREE in the first place. He should've just said "I'll eliminate some departments..."

Currently consuming: Morehouse's "Better off free", FDR; Wii U; NEP Football

Maybe this time he'll remember which 3

"Uh, duh. Uh, well... Um...I ah...two, I mean three, um...ah..."

Puke. The only thing that will make me more sick during that election cycle (besides Hillary) is if they also trot out Huckabee. Those 2 smarmy phoneys are so hard to listen to as they drone on endlessly.
