Maybe the Huckabee people will start to understand the pain we have been feeling. Maybe they will even get angry. I think a lot of people who like Huckabee like him for the right reasons--they just don't realize he doesn't represent what they think he does. Now that they see the MSM starting to ignore him, they may realize that, since Huckabee doesn't have the funds and organization we have, Ron Paul is their best alternative. We need to actively court Huckabee supporters NOW, especially for the southern states.

I think there's a good chance McCain will choose Huckabee as his running mate. There may have a deal behind the scenes for Huckabee to stay in as long as possible to take votes away from Romney, then McCain selects him as a running mate. I don't think Huckabee has ever said anything negative about Mcain or argued against him or his positions in a debate.

After Feb 5th
After Feb 5th we really should talk about combining forces with Huck, especially if delegates in State caucuses can combine giving the win to whichever in winning in that State, it may be the only way to beat McCain and Romney's stranglehold. Remember after Feb5th there is still almost half the states left, and several big ones at that. Our combined delegates at the convention could be more then Romney or McCain's.

I was talking with a couple Huckabee people today and they were saying that liked RP but thought a lot of his supporters were aggressive jerks. We have GOT to shape up our image. I'm sorry, but if we are to gain supporters from other camps, we MUST not alienate them now. We can be grown up and respectful while supporting Ron Paul with every fervent bone in our bodies. Passion and classy behavior can go together. Let's do it!

however, there are rude people in all campaigns. They are just trying to find reasons to not like Ron Paul. It's like saying all politicians are liars so I don't like Ron Paul. They are stereotyping.

Huck scheduled a money bomb the same day as Ron and Carols February 1st....well.....in the first 2 hours Ron Paul supporters have donated over $100,000 [that $50,000 an hour!].....Huck's supporters are up to a WHOPPING five thousand dollars.....can I get a woot woot?!

i went to the Hucksters site last night and his supporters sound very similar to the Paul supporters, although there was a religious tone to almost every post. many of them referenced Ron Paul, but none were critical of him. i think many of his supporters will embrace Dr Paul once the Hucksters bows out. Does anyone think tha Giuliani would be McCain's choice for VP?

And, if we're to believe the secret Carl Cameron swore to keep for some strange reason, Thompson was in it all along for the VP slot. Since Republicans despise McCain but find Thompson "a conservative" it's likely that McCain will pick Fred to shore up support on the right. This will play well to the Republican base, but that ticket WILL LOSE to either Democrat, despite conventional "wisdom"!

a lot of Huckabee delegates voting for RP at the Minnesota convention even if Huckabee decides to run as VP for McCain. Huckabee ( apart from that Iraq debate many months ago...and it was a nice contest ...not too bad) has been very respectful of Dr. Paul. In fact, him copying Dr. Paul's slogans (sometimes verbatim) shows he does give Dr. Paul credit even though he may not accept publicly.
Coincidentally, Huckabee has actually formed a base that will more or less come en-masse to Dr. Paul if he at any point of time, before GOP convention, hints of dropping out. It is clear that apart from Dr. Paul nobody else is accelerating in terms of grassroot support.
And that is significant because any person who comes to RP's campaign rarely goes back. And hence I feel others are so fearful of RP. RP has an unwavering base. This revolution is irreversible.

I've been discussing with Huckabee supporters the theory behind a Huck/Paul or Paul/Huck ticket, and most would support either (though of course prefer the Huck/Paul ticket). At this time such a thing shouldn't be discussed by the campaign, but after Feb 5th it may be smart to talk about an semi-official cest fire. If we can get some kinda consensus for our guys to vote Huck in States he might win and for them to vote Paul in States we might win then our combined delegates could possibly be over 50% at the final convention. At that point in time the decision of whos P and whos VP would simply be whomever has the most delegates, leaving McCain and Romney to the wayside.

They can clearly see that McCain and Romney are dolts. They're getting a taste of what RP has been getting, maybe they will now understand our anger and dismay. They will be against Mitt and Mac and probably be very friendly to our camp. I can't see Huck endorsing either of the other two, but then he is awfully giddy about getting into the White House. Getting Hucks internet base and his outside support would be a good thing, no doubt about it.

You can bet at the Convention Paul and Huckabee will boost either other. BUT its also possible now in caucus states for cross caucusing to whomever is doing the best if they team up. It would be enough in MANY states for one of us to beat the McRomney machines.

I hope not soon. Governor Huckabee serves us by keeping the Republican race mixed and divided, and thereby reduces the chances of McKeynes or Slick Willard from steamrolling over the field. A divided field leads to a brokered convention, and thereby to substantive discussions about the Republican platform and a Paul candidacy. As fearful and loathsome (heh, almost makes me wish Hunter & Thompson were still in the race) as Nehemiah Scudder is, we DO want him sniping away at the ankles of Flip Flopney and Collateral Damage.

I actually reached out to some Huck supporters after last night's debacle of a debate to test the waters and let me tell you - there is a LOT of willingness on their side to kind of band together with us (against MSM)since they feel their guy was slighted by CNN as well. If we are cordial and respectful, perhaps we could pick up some votes for RP when Huck drops out!! Everybody who responded to me had nothing but great things to say about RP --- and one guy even told me that the passion we supporters have for him is inspiring! I think this is something we should cultivate in an attempt to sway them to our side once the inevitable happens to them!!
