Sadly,I've finally figured out whats changed about this site...

I've been a member for ages and I remember dying to rush back to the PC to check the latest on Daily Paul. There was always the latest youtube clips of dozens of energised supporters lining the streets in anticipation of TV spots, speeches, appearances etc. Apart from all the negative posts, I've also noticed that alot of the forum topics are just plain STUPID! I've really dropped off how much I visit this site now and am very sad to admit it. I almost stopped believing that Dr Paul's revolution is actually continuing to grow until I saw the vid on youtube titled "REVOLUTION" of at least a hundred or so supporters lining the streets outside the Reagan Library yesterday. There were no supporters for ANYONE ELSE!
Why hasn't this caused an outrage here? The oneness of accord and strength in retaliation against the biased MSM via blog posts and inundating emails, letters etc has all stopped. Hey where are all the oldies...? Prospectorsam where are you? It almost feels like the actual site has been taken over and supporters scattered into dozens of factions... So terribly sad!

I agree with what your saying. I definetly think this site needs more moderation. Call it censorship or what ever way you want to spin it folks, the idiocy abounds and the quality has definetly dropped in the time I have been here. It is not my go to site anymore. The site also runs so slow sometimes I don't take the time to post positive links or comments unless it is early morning or late night, I just go elsewhere. Taking 1, 2, even 3 minutes for a page to load is way to long. Sorry Michael, but it is what it is.

Don't get me wrong, I think RP and the campaign are still growing and kicking ass. I just think this site needs to get back to some positive roots. Like the Republican Party.

The only way we can lose is to forget that we are winning!

Well Said -- BUT (Seems There's Always A But)

With more people comes more ideas -- good and bad. Not everyone is going to see things as you do or as I do. I support RON PAUL 100-percent (as you do too; I feel pretty safe in saying that based upon your thread topic and comments) so in that vein we think alike. But I'm a separate person, one of many here, and my beliefs are also founded in 9/11 research materials -- which yours probably are not. That's a safe bet I'm making saying that. Each bring unique ideas to a forum -- you'll just have to come to realize and accept that // or not.

Of course there is always that freedom of choice you can continue to exercise and that is not to read certain postings and allow the contents to upset you so much. Turn the channel // me making reference to television there, sorry, but same applies here as well. Just don't become absorbed by the idiotic and junk that is sure to float to the bottom. The good stuff, the RON PAUL support is still the TOP PRIORITY here and the TOP SUBJECT of discussion here. I believe that. Maybe that's how I see it because I try and ignore the idiotic -- Like that 'Hot Guy' subject I saw elsewhere. Something like that just doesn't interest me, so I turn the channel (in my mind). Hope my comments helped settle you some.

It takes all kinds. And not all are trolls, some are just here trying to help in their own unique way(s) to get a good man elected. Some are here to play, for sure, some are not. I wouldn't get so troubled over this matter if I were you -- but that's my point -- I'm not you. Smile if you can and try and have a nice day.

Isn't that precisely what

Isn't that precisely what happens when RP gains support? There are more people, more ideas, more thoughts. You want RP's revolution to grow so long as it doesn't invade your space?
I love this site and I consider you all to be "friends" in the battle for freedom. I look forward to checking in and getting the newest and freshest ideas on the battle field.
Do you want an army of 20 or 200?

me??

Didn't know I had a fan base here. :-}

I'm commenting a lot, at night; trying to discipline myself to work more during the day when I can contact others. I've done a lot of canvassing in Vancouver the past couple months, on weekends, and beyond that, it's more a factor of the overall quantity of information being so vast -- and growing -- that I can't keep up with the flow. I'm always buried! So the most I usually do here is reply, and those tend to be brief. One thing I say very often in those replies is that we all need to get out there and CANVASS!! That really is the way we can win.

I have tons of thoughts, and I'll likely post more of them here, but not until after Tsunami Tuesday. Just too much to do until then. Thanks for noticing my "absence"; I guess whatever my old habits were, they were more visible -- or else there's just so much traffic here that any individual can seemingly disappear.

Hang in there. We need a miracle now... but we always did. ;-) The fact that we've clawed and scratched our way from last place to final four is *really* cool. I'm loving that fact. I suggest you cherish it and let it keep you going if you ever start drooping. Only 3 more to take down now. If we don't manage to do that, well, nobody can fault us for a lack of effort! And if we do manage it, none of our little squabbles here will ultimately matter at all.

I remember the days when

I remember the days when there were 9 users and 19 guests on this site.I have never started a thread, never felt the need.Too many people seem to NEED to see their opinion posted on the front page.We have so many new threads that no single topic can be discussed at any length.

I still come to this site everyday.I just don`t participate.

my 4th or fifth forum topic posted in the 6-7 months i've been here...
Too many useless topics!

divide and conquer

That is the war cry of those that would seek to stop the revolution. That is why there is a two party system.

We need to divide an conquer. Divide the advertisers from the shows they sponsor.

Be care ful of the trolls. I have no doubt they are here.

We can still win this with MSM coverage. I know how we can get this happening. We need to lean on the advertisers of their shows. Not the network advertisers on the news but the advertisers on the talk shows etc.

http://www.dailypaul.com/node/32200 is my post on my war against the advertisers. I will ring them all and email their boards. I may not be allowed to donate but by christ I'll campaign with every skill I have.,

RP movement is strong downunder. I'm in Melbourne

Not only are trolls here ..

it would be prudent to believe some are paid and capable of creating a real disturbance.

Wow, Sydney...

You're an RP supporter all alone on that big, beautiful continent...surely there are others?

My old boyfriend was from Melbourne. He was a managing editor of a libertarian newsletter and he and the editor were invited by Larry Flynt of Hustler mag to have dinner at his mansion with others from the media. Flynt wanted to donate money to the Libertarian party [many moons ago]. Sadly, now I think he's supporting the dems.

Where's that Revolution youtube link? I heard from someone who attended yesterday's debate rally that as their Ron Paul limo drove up, that there were about 5 romney supporters, 15 huckabee, NO mccain, and 200 RP supporters! The debate room only seated 300 people and Ron Paul only got 6 tickets!

After the debate there was a meeting inside a banquet room with 300-400 of us!!! Woohoo. Even though he was exhausted, Dr. Paul gave a speech. A line formed and Ron Paul shook hands with each and every one and took some photos. His wife and two of his granddaughters also attended.

Others too busy partying...

or tanning on some beach somewhere too lazy to show up. I must say that I'm pretty sure someone tried setting up afterwards but not around anymore. Sydney in the summer... beach... party.....party....beach.
Wow...managing editor...Libertarian newsletter...Larry Flynt...Hustler... an intoxicatingly dangerous liaison
Praise the Lord for saving me from all that.
What an honour to have met the good Dr. and been in the fellowship of 400 other Paulies...Wow!
p.s I've posted the vid below and as a forum topic...enjoy!

we are out canvassing

I think it is just that people gathered here because this was one of the few places to gather. the people got informed and then formed local groups which didn't exist to the extent they do now.

They now talk with their meet-ups and go out canvassing, phone calling letter writing etc. look we are down to the wire for a big delegate day, people who are very committed only have so much time. They are spending it getting the vote not on building up the daily paul site.

I myself while working in retail got four more people today to vote for Ron Paul. I am up now because I wanted to be sure to donate early as an encouragement to those who will wake up tomorrow.

go Ron go

Major thanks to all of you out canvassing but...

please read my response to a similar post below titled "god bless all those able to canvass.."

Growing Pains...

I've been around a while and I've seen changes. However, this is bound to happen with new people coming aboard all the time. And it's a sign of the success of the campaign and in some ways the success of this site and those who were here in the beginning.

These are growing pains. The site reflects the spirit of the campaign in the different views and personalities rallying behind the same ideas. Some of the negativity does get old, it wasn't here early on. I try not to read negative posts, or offer a different perspective if I see it.

I'm not too sure about the retaliation anymore, I think boycott is the real solution. The msm isn't going to change until their pocketbooks hurt. That's why they do what they do and that's the only way to hit them back.

Let's talk about that. Ideas?

"It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government." Thomas Paine

I think we get disillusioned

I think we get disillusioned and just feel like us being so great is normal. I feel like we really have lost that proud feeling we once held....
I am proud to be a paulite... Are mission is not in vain.

www.politicallore.com

Politicallore...

The disillusionment is exactly what I'm talking about. When things LOOKED bad before we used to get on this site to remember that that is what the MSM want us to believe. The site was so energised and constructive that no bad news was bad news but only fuel on the revolution fire... Come on... let's pick it up and get it back on it's original track of encouragement, one-accord and displaying the character traits that Dr Paul himself would be proud to take part in...

Ideas to make it better?

Here is mine - A longer visible list of active topics would be good. I am tired of seeing so much of what amounts to spam. (I started lurking in the summer and soon got addicted because it was such a dynamic site)

Think Michael would listen?

cw

A longer list...

may just bury good topics and make it even more tiresome to want to participate. I'm thinking a "bury it" function where if enough members (say 10-15) view it and deem it nonsense. Then when the "bury it" meters gets hit 15 times it disappears... It's not a perfect idea but a knee jerk response to wanting to cull this forum list of the rubbish and interact on better topics...

If....

If there was a bury feature trolls from other candidates and assorted troublemakers would be burying good stories.. just like on Digg.

yeah...good point...

!

link?

You have a link to that ? I want to see it...

the key is patience and perseverance

This campaign is for the long haul. The only way we can win is to endure hardships and keep on pushing. The MSM/elites are very frustrated that we don't give up, so let's not give them what they want. Ron Paul's numbers never do anything but go up. They don't soar, they just creep. Fortunately, we have until, at least, September and, hopefully, November to get the numbers. The media have tried to create a mentality of instant gratification amongst the public, and they have succeeded to a large degree, but Ron Paul will not succeed if we give into that. Negativity and discouragement are inevitable on this site, but this site is also full of people who are working really hard for Dr. Paul. I encourage you to do the same and not worry about the negative posts. Half of them are probably not even Paul supporters, anyway.

I agree...

but don't understimate how important this site was in the fledgling months of Dr Pauls campaign. It was a rallying point, a "war room", a place where you know we were of one accord. This name calling and divisive finger pointing at anyone who expresses anger, disappoinment, fear etc is emulating the very thing that RP is seeking to abolish. Stand as one and don't allow any of this fascist attacking on the site.

DO YOU

have a link to the REVOLUTION video??? thanks

LINK??

to the video please... thankyou soooooooooooo much!

WOW

that's nice

Momentum is a bitch.

We had it leading into the early states. Through various reasons, the "official" campaign could not build upon it or even maintain it. Playing catch up involves diminishing returns.

Most of the original posters are still here, I think they are just depressed into not saying much.

Like it or not, a certain realization is setting in. Belief is still strong, the manifestation is undergoing an evolution.
