At least this is intellectually honest

At what point was the military NOT a private entity working for the highest bidder?

This way it is explicit and the people doing the dying are getting paid for it, as opposed to Senators being bought off.

actually I've always said this about BlackWater & Erik Prince

long before he admitted the obvious, when I first heard of Blackwater providing State Dept security, loooooooooooong before Iraq 2: Erik Prince & BlackWater ARE the CIA.

Some of what they do (when they're contracted, they're often euphemistically referred broadly as "State Dept Security Team," whether they are in fact SD's internal security, or contractors), as featured in this Nat Geo State-worship piece:

[hate having to post anything by this POS AIPAC-warWhore Eli Lake who engineered the whole Jamie Kuntchick smearing Abby Martin, but here it is with an 'exclusive' with the corporatist hack Erik Prince:]

Exclusive: Court Docs Reveal Blackwater’s Secret CIA Past
It was the U.S. military’s most notorious security contractor—but it may also have been a virtual extension of the CIA. Eli Lake reports.

Last month a three-year-long federal prosecution of Blackwater collapsed. The government’s 15-felony indictment—on such charges as conspiring to hide purchases of automatic rifles and other weapons from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives—could have led to years of jail time for Blackwater personnel. In the end, however, the government got only misdemeanor guilty pleas by two former executives, each of whom were sentenced to four months of house arrest, three years’ probation, and a fine of $5,000. Prosecutors dropped charges against three other executives named in the suit and abandoned the felony charges altogether.

Tycoon, Contractor, Soldier, Spy

Erik Prince, recently outed as a participant in a C.I.A. assassination program, has gained notoriety as head of the military-contracting juggernaut Blackwater, a company dogged by a grand-jury investigation, bribery accusations, and the voluntary-manslaughter trial of five ex-employees, set for next month. Lashing back at his critics, the wealthy former navy seal takes the author inside his operation in the U.S. and Afghanistan, revealing the role he’s been playing in America’s war on terror.

I put myself and my company at the C.I.A.’s disposal for some very risky missions,” says Erik Prince as he surveys his heavily fortified, 7,000-acre compound in rural Moyock, North Carolina. “But when it became politically expedient to do so, someone threw me under the bus.” Prince—the founder of Blackwater, the world’s most notorious private military contractor—is royally steamed. He wants to vent. And he wants you to hear him vent.

Blackwater is basically just another CIA front company: not just in the metaphorical sense of having most of its upper echelon management being "The Company"'s alum, thus 'arguably' making them a de facto CIA operation. Nope: they are literally, a de jure (NOT de facto) extension of the CIA's once illegal operation, magically made 'legal' with the stroke of a corporatist no-bid govt contract pen.

while they've been using mercs, since the founding of the republic, and every war since, the only real difference with Blackwater was that the particulars of rendition, torture, 'targeted strikes murders' and drug-trafficking/factional turf-protection, which were never 'officially' sanctioned, were & are now, just slightly more out in the 'open.'

From all the evidence, most likely, Erik Prince set up BlackWater to openly profit off of the shiit that the CIA & the rest of the Anglo-American NWO City of London/Wall St. banksters-established US intel apparatus have always done, "Off-Books," but are now openly GSA-contracted with open corporate structure.

It's basically the govt's version of the Gambinos setting up a 'legit' operation. nothing more.

so can't wait to see Nuremberg 2.0, televised, live...

your point

a subtext to the questions:
Should we be fighting at all?
Is there a valid threat to our Native soil?
if yes, then..
The War FUNDING should then be a direct tax upon the people.
It should HURT every one of us.
WHO gets paid to die then and only then becomes relevant.

It's all an egregious crime

It's all an egregious crime against humanity, but fortunately this one is easy to understand for what it is.
