(13 Monkeys) Update

I will leave up all links as reports pop up.

It's beginning to remind me more of 13 monkeys..
I believe the Ebola outbreak is REAL cause for alarm
and that deaths are going to go WAY underreported...
for LOTS of reasons...
You cannot contain a highly infectious pandemic in the modern world.
Once it's out of the box it doesn't go back in.

So...

this can be the DP Underground HQ
for reports on Ebola... feel free to contribute
but I will try and keep stuff brief and to the point.

stay tuned... I will keep posting to this thread
consider the thread a 'false negative'...
just like these 'first' reports.
(Beware the 'false negatives')

Why is Contagion such a problem?

Answer: You are Contagious DURING the 21 day 'incubation period'
in fact, Sarah-Jane Mee interviewed a spokeswoman for Médecins Sans Frontières in Sierra Leone as much as SAID SO.

She went on FURTHER to say that the "people who have been in contact with an Ebola victim over the 21 days prior to them showing symptoms (i.e. the incubation period) needed to be traced as a matter of urgency."

The main organization, fighting Ebola on the ground, categorically thinks that the virus is contagious during the incubation period. This has massive implications for the spread of the virus.

Flying 340 BACK to U.S. from Liberia and Sierra Leone

Peace Corps announced Wednesday that it was recalling the 340 volunteers who are based in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, because of the spread of the virus.

Liberian Medics claim: 'Officially Out of Control'

Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia have been struggling to fight the deadly virus since March this year. According to Medecins Sans Frontieres, who deployed 552 staff in hotspots across the region, the epidemic is now officially 'out of control.'
http://www.independent.ie/world-news/africa/deadly-ebola-vir...
The medical humanitarian organisation is building a quarantine unit in Kenema, Sierra Leone, to where Irish doctor Gabriel Fitzgerald has just travelled. He says his team is overwhelmed with new ebola patients. "People are dying in their villages without access to medical care,".

The movie is 12 MONKEYS.

This is nonsense. Ebola is spread via contact with infected bodily fluids. Infected people die pretty quickly, unlike people with hepatitis or HIV. That means they have less time to infect other people.

The virus in 12 MONKEYS was spread through the air.

This can be easily contained. The government just needs to not transport infected people around.

There is a reported 1000 deaths from this outbreak. In 2012 there were 627,000 deaths from malaria, which is spread by mosquitoes. Let's keep a sense of proportion here.

If this ebola outbreak is not quickly ended, it is because somebody is working to keep it going.

[F]orce can only settle questions of power, not of right. - Clyde N. Wilson

Really!?!

"Ebola viruses (EBOV) cause often fatal hemorrhagic fever in several species of simian primates including human. While fruit bats are considered natural reservoir, involvement of other species in EBOV transmission is unclear. In 2009, Reston-EBOV was the first EBOV detected in swine with indicated transmission to humans. In-contact transmission of Zaire-EBOV (ZEBOV) between pigs was demonstrated experimentally. Here we show ZEBOV transmission from pigs to cynomolgus macaques without direct contact. Interestingly, transmission between macaques in similar housing conditions was never observed. Piglets inoculated oro-nasally with ZEBOV were transferred to the room housing macaques in an open inaccessible cage system. All macaques became infected. Infectious virus was detected in oro-nasal swabs of piglets, and in blood, swabs, and tissues of macaques. This is the first report of experimental interspecies virus transmission, with the macaques also used as a human surrogate. Our finding may influence prevention and control measures during EBOV outbreaks."

The Ebola Virus has been used and tested with on the North American Continent for a while now without 'getting loose'. Feel better?

At this moment, it is a much higher percentage one will catch Tuberculosis in a StarBucks or a WalMart than Ebola, but with our Porous Souther Borders, that may change all too soon.

Rights are like muscles; you must exercise them to keep them fit, or they will atrophy and die.

Yup... No duh?

Proportion is important. So let's not ignore the 'other' side of the equation:
Malaria victims (and the viral infection) LINGERS... often for years,
as does
Tuberculosis and its victims...
a MILLION will die from TB this year.
No 'cure' for either...
but the key 'proportion' you downplay in your 'nonsense' rebuff
is the 90% fatalities in 2 to 21 days.
It's not at 'all' nonsense regardless of how many monkeys.
I called it 13 for a reason.
Bugger off... if you don't like being informed.
There's no hype here... Don't like it, Don't read it.
It certainly isn't nonsense.
Cheers,

and as for your 'bodily fluids' only... you can read this or not
I don't care.

The above is for Ebola Zaire which we NOW know is not the ONLY strain we are now dealing with... and the 'new' strain is giving out false negatives... quarantined medical personnel are showing DELAYED positives.. one day they're tested 'ebola free'... 3 days later they're showing ebola infected... the Dr. in Nigeria is exactly case in point... the one who treated Sawyer.
So..
Do we NOT think that these brave souls are taking EVERY precaution to NOT exchange 'bodily fluids'????? You think they're complete fools???
So..
How then DID THEY GET INFECTED???? THINK!!!!!!!!!!
How do you define "AIRBORNE"???

Atlanta 'Experimental' Treatment - What Are They Testing????

What do we know?
The 2 Health care workers (male Brantly already here.. female Writebol arrives today)
will receive 'experimental' drug.
►called ZMapp
►Each patient received at least one dose of ZMapp in Liberia before coming to the U.S.
►The antibody work came out of research projects funded more than a decade ago by the U.S. Army to develop treatments and vaccines against potential bio-warfare.
ZMapp is the new 2014 version / The 'old' version MB-003 (2013) 'protected' 3 out of 7 monkeys in Defense Department test trials.
►It's never been used on humans, FDA gave 'emergency' exclusion
►It's a gene splice of 2 viruses: a tobacco virus with the ebola virus then 'grown together' using the tobacco plant production system.
►genes for the desired antibodies are fused to genes for a natural tobacco virus. The tobacco plants are then infected with this new artificial virus.
►Takes 2-3 weeks to mature the plant clone for harvest; they grind it up and do an extract to make the 'dose'.
►“There’s a very scarce number of doses,” not clear how many each patient needs for treatment “I’m not sure how many doses they’ll get.”
►The antibody work came out of research projects funded more than a decade ago by the U.S. Army to develop treatments and vaccines against potential bio-warfare.
►This 'project funded' the two scientists behind ZMapp,
President Larry Zeitlin
Chief Executive Officer Kevin Whaley
►They formed Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc.
nine employees, San Diego-based.

they then licensed

Kentucky BioProcessing LLC,
(a subsidiary of tobacco giant Reynolds American Inc.)(RAI:US),
to grow/extract it.
►They then Canadian 'partnered' with Toronto-based Defyrus Inc.,
has six employees,
Defyrus CEO Jeff Turner.

“This is all new to me,” said Whaley, who was dressed in shorts, a well-worn T-shirt and flip-flops while addressing reporters’ questions outside the company’s offices in a San Diego business park.

This story has been so hugely underreported

I've been following it since March, not a peep from US press until last 2 days, and even then they are only really reporting on the known Ebola patient flown to US soil.

Update: Airlines are beginning to cancel flights to the region, the sooner the better, IMO.
http://www.ibtimes.com/emirates-cancels-flights-guinea-amid-...

Patrick Sawyer infected at least 4 people at some point on his flight...that we know of so far, they have managed to track down 70 in total, 3 are symptomatic, 5 more in quarantine that 'may' be symptomatic, and the doctor who treated Sawyer is infected as well:
http://news.yahoo.com/nigeria-says-doctor-treated-ebola-vict...

Also from the Yahoo article, 100 million pledged to fight Ebola. Hopefully it will get to the people on the front lines and not into the greedy hands of contractors vis-a-vis the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

On a side note, Nigeria is Africa's most populated country.

Patrick Sawyer is the huge wildcard

Many of the people he was in contact with during his flights have not been tracked down.

And if the doctor that treated him in Nigeria has become infected, then who knows how many others were out there.

Who in security handled his luggage through the airports? Who sat near him? Did he use any restrooms in the airports or in the plane, and who else used those restrooms?

Those people will be damn hard to track down.

And with an incubation period of 2-21 days, the people Sawyer contacted may not yet know they are even sick.

All it would take is one speck of fecal matter from a trip to the bathroom, that's not stretch, especially if you are symptomatic and have heavy diarrhea.

Sawyer

Patrick Sawyer,
►Liberian government official (from Minnesota)
►worked for Liberia’s finance ministry,
►contracted the virus from his sister
►traveled from Liberia to Nigeria for a meeting of west African officials.
►landed in Lagos, Nigeria on July 20 from Monrovia,Liberia after switching planes in Togo’s capital Lome.
►visibly sick upon arrival
►taken directly to the First Consultants hospital in Lagos
►died in quarantine on July 25.
►hospital closed indefinitely last week.
►(unnamed)Nigerian Doctor who treated Sawyer now confirmed infected

Sawyer’s Final Hours In Lagos: ‘Indiscipline’, Rage,

Mr. Sawyer went into a rage, denying and objecting to the opinion of the medical experts. “He was so adamant and difficult that he took the tubes from his body and took off his pants and urinated on the health workers, forcing them to flee."

3 People Last Week: Fly Vomit and Die

LEAKED: Dozens from Ebola Countries Caught on U.S. Border

In addition to the individuals from terror-prone nations who attempted to illegally enter the U.S., individuals from nations currently suffering from the world’s largest Ebola outbreak have been caught attempting to sneak across the porous U.S. border into the interior of the United States. At least 71 individuals from the three nations affected by the current Ebola outbreak have either turned themselves in or been caught attempting to illegally enter the U.S. by U.S. authorities between January 2014 and July 2014.

Imagine how many they didn't catch.

Travelers......

Patrick Sawyer could have brought Ebola to US but died in Nigeria while en route to family in Minnesota Here Here died in Nigeria last week soon after arriving on a flight that made stops in Ghana and Togo.
Nigerian authorities have identified 59 people who may have come into contact with the man before he died. They have quarantined 8.

This post is just propaganda!

Look up bob beck and buy a magnetic pulser and viola! You will not have to worry about Ebola. I have one...

it does seem to have a touch of treason on it

they probably need more raw material to weaponize

One day, I'm gonna' change my name to Dale Lee Paul

Swine Flu...

Bird flu... Mad cow disease... Freaking el nino.

Chill, lets see how this plays out. I'm not getting crazy yet, as this is yet another "incurable" disease. I'm not saying this isn't serious, but, lets apply what we've seen/learned in the past to today.

Also, as this is making it's rounds on MSM, make sure you are always keeping an eye on what you are not seeing. Fed pumping, Ukraine/Russia, "De-dollarization" from BRICS (which I believe is the biggest story), freaking Saudi Arabia. (As a side note, we talk about "spreading democracy" yet one of our biggest allies is a absolute monarchy. Watch a documentary on the house of Saud, especially the parts including Faisals reign, and, his blowback response to us supporting Israel in the 6-day war, can someone say oil crisis. He pulled the oil, the CIA killed him. It's really interesting stuff. Oh, and most of the so called hijackers were from there as well, so there is that)

What is Seen and Unseen

That's exactly it:

They wave with one hand so the sheep ignore the other.

Always.

Don't worry. The U.S. is so

Don't worry. The U.S. is so sure it's not a problem that they are importing the disease now.

Ebola Update

I'm so confused - I thought Sierra Leone closed its borders???
Update:
No. Liberia effectively shut its borders. Sierra Leone has shut most land borders. Airports are still open, though several local airlines have voluntarily suspended all services. Other airlines are practising controls, such as not allowing specific passengers to get off at stop-overs in some countries, if they got on in infected countries.

You should be confused. Its a mess. It seems there is so much rubbish out there.

THE SITUATION:

- The virus is now confirmed in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria and Morocco and traveled thru Ghana and Togo. It is likely also to be in Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, the Philippines, and maybe the UK.

- This is a new strain of Ebola. Because of this the existing tests are not working well. Many false negatives are being given.

- Whilst not technically airborne in the strictest clinical sense, it is to all intents and purposes airborne. It is spreading on the smallest droplets of bodily, or other fluid. Advice given to airlines regarding cleaning of cabins even warned against using pressure-driven cleaners because the virus can so easily become aerosolized.

- The symptoms will vary from person-to-person. Not all people will experience all symptoms and those who are already frail, like the elderly, will probably die early on, before the worst symptoms.

- The incubations period, for this new strain, seems to be around 20 days (other strains have been as short as 2 days).

- During incubation you may experience symptoms similar to those of the common cold.

- The actual onset of proper Ebola symptoms can be very sudden.

- There is no known cure or treatment. If you do get it your best bet is to keep drinking and eating to remain as strong as possible and avoid death by dehydration.

- The response so far has been pathetic. This outbreak has been going on for months and no one in the west paid any attention.

- The rate of spread is almost certainly increasing as the virus has hit increasingly large urban centres, and has started spreading through air transport.

- Because of the increased rate of spread, the virus will logically now be spreading exponentially. If each infected person passes it to just two other people we will have over a billion infected by the end of this month.

Just had to go over all of that because it seems so many people still do not get what is happening here.
