Millennials outraged, reject Washington’s reflexive support of Israel

It might seem counterintuitive to make the argument that Israel should no longer count on U.S. support for its policies as assuredly it has in the past. After all, hasn’t the Senate just passed not one but now two resolutions by unanimous consent declaring its backing of Israel’s deadly attacks on and invasion of Gaza?

Yet even with these unambiguous resolutions emanating from the Senate, we find more and more evidence that support for Israel from the American public is slipping. A recent report in the Washington Post noted that “A new Pew Research Center poll is the second in the past week to show a huge generational split on the current conflict in Gaza. While all age groups north of 30 years old clearly blame Hamas more than Israel for the current violence, young adults buck the trend in a big way. Among 18 to 29-year olds, 29 percent blame Israel more for the current wave of violence, while 21 percent blame Hamas.”

if you are under 35 or so

you have spent either your entire life, or your entire adulthood under a regime that is anywhere from invasive to oppressive, depending on your life experience and philosophical leanings.

Govt is just so much more in your face for the younger generations. Its a natural rebound effect from something way out of balance with human nature.

Those of the older generations who can shake off the propaganda will get to the same place, but they have the added burden of shaking off the experience of things being "not that bad" while they were growing up. I think they also get in the nostalgic "if only things could go back to the way they were" trap.

Most of the reasoning here comes from the Telecommunications Act of 1996 through to the terrorist act of 9/11.

millenials saw the apex of pointed questions being blunted and lived to tell the story. They saw everything at its propaganda nexus; before phones were computers, before internet was t.v., before t.v. was networks, before networks were monopolized programs. Millennials witnessed the world flip upside down at the time in their lives when the world was a known liar; age 15-16.

Americans have been absolutely culpable in their pretension to support the false narrative. Just because the millennials use the internet does not excuse the generational retardation conjuring plausible deniability from father to son, whether ignorant or knowledgeable, in applying justice to foreign countries.

These generations of retards with their civilized sweater vests have lost the principles of the founders by assuming false images of their fathers, genera after genera until we're all orphans to uncle sam.

A true flower can not blossom without sunlight and a true man can not live without love.

Millenials have the internet

They grew up with it. They were able to see through the Zionist propaganda much earlier in life. They also have come of age while mainstream television networks have become most egregious in their stretching and bending of the truth. The blatant propaganda is easier for them to spot.

The fight for political action -- who wins?

In this corner, we have majority public opinion. In the other corner we have rich bankers and major campaign contributors to the politicians who will make the decision . . .

Oh, well.

There is no one in my circle of friends that support Israel's

genocide of the palestinians. I'm over 50 and so are many of my friends. Its becoming clear to most that have researched true history and who have been paying attention over the past decade that the US and Israel are by far the biggest state sponsers of terror.

Those older folk who I know

who do give Israel a blank check either just hate Muslims and view Israel as an ally, or are Protestant Christian Zionists who believe the Old Testament story of God giving the Jews the deed to the land in perpetuity and therefore are justified in anything they do in Israel. The latter believe Israel wants peace despite all of the evidence to the contrary and hold the Arabs responsible for Arab civilian deaths.

Young people are largely not

Young people are largely not social conservatives, and I'll bet that not many today will grow up to be like they used to. They don't care much about Israel, Christian institutions, or traditional marriage. They aren't against those things very strongly; they simply don't care.

Social conservatism is most definitely on the way out, the same as warmongering and cronyism to a certain degree. Young people on average are very different than they were a few decades ago. They are more into technology, smarter, more intuitive, and are non-traditional. And other traits of "indigo" children are starting to become more and more the norm. The old tricks that worked on their parents and grandparents don't work on them. So it's easy to see how things will change in the coming years, based on how the new generation of people are.

Social Conservativism?

How exactly do the Social Conservatives, or the movement of Social Conservativism count in this retrospect? I am 31 years old. The covenant with the Jewish people was abolished by Christ himself who said "All authority in Heaven and on earth is given to Me". In fact the entire Letter to the Hebrews emphasized that the old law, i.e. the Old Testament, had in fact been abolished for sake of the new covenant for anyone who seeks salvation through Christ - gentile, Jew, etc.

The Social Conservatives, probably the fastest growing minority in the conservative movement, are inherently wrong on the issue of Israel. The fact of the matter is that Zionist money flows into relatively liberal evangelical congregations to water down the very fact that the Pharisees and Sadducees were out to kill Jesus and did so in fact through influencing the Romans. The entire New Testament is filled with the challenge of the Pharisees against Jesus who constantly berates the Jewish 'elite' ruling class for their lust of all things materialistic and monetary. So within these "socially conservative" evangelic communities people are indoctrinated to think that there is some sort of Godly covenant with the Jewish people, which is Biblically incorrect. As a consequence, many Americans believe that the Apartheid state of present day Israel is some how connected to the ancient land of Israel and the Kingdom of David - who himself a sinner was said by God to be a "man after My own heart" (paraphrasing of course).

I guess where I am going with this is that I'm 31, I've studied scripture, and I understand very well the GREATEST of biblical misconceptions that many Americans across ALL generations fall into being that Christians and Jews have some sort of kinship. Afraid not. Nevertheless, your argument tends to lend credit towards the 'older' social conservative generation who themselves largely do not understand their Biblical history when it comes to the betrayal of the People of Moses against the Old Law.

The same social conservatives who hang their hat on voting for social issues like traditional marriage (government has no role in marriage, and because from a functional standpoint they do - you have legal marriage versus biblical marriage that is in conflict with one another. therefore, why not confer unto homosexuals this legal marriage as it is already bastardized to a great degree from the teachings of Christ), Christian institutions, and Israel also largely lust for the blood of Muslims out of ignorance toward America's role in international foreign affairs.

Hope I am not misunderstanding the intent of your post.
