Robin Williams Dead at 63. (RIP Buddy)

What can I say? The man meant alot to me. He gave me confidence, taught me that it was ok to care about things, made me cry, and holy crap did he make me laugh. He will be missed

"Oscar winner and comedian Robin Williams died this morning at 63. While his publicist wouldn’t confirm that his death was a suicide, a rep did issue this statement. “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

Williams, who won an Oscar for his supporting role in Good Will Hunting, will reprise his role as Theodore Roosevelt in the third installment of Night at the Museum this December. He had recently signed on to reprise his beloved role as Mrs. Doubtfire in a sequel to be directed by Chris Columbus, and was last seen opposite Annette Bening in the indie film The Face of Love. His sitcom The Crazy Ones premiered on CBS last fall, but was not picked up for a second season."

What I will always remember about Robin Williams were those scenes where he was fighting off tears. There was a man who knew pain intimately. Apparently that pain was what got him.

Favorite Robin Williams movies:

Mrs Doubtfire
Dead Poets Society
Good Will Hunting
Patch Adams
What Dreams May Come
The fisher king

I am going to miss him.

Holy Crap I am just starting to realize how powerful and profound an influence he played in my life. Those scenes, where he exhibited that pain and suffering. The way he dealt with it, pushed through, soldiered on...

I learned how to deal with pain by watching that man act. The more I think about it, the more I realize it.

Hoffman overdosed, but there

Hoffman overdosed, but there was no proof it was a suicide.

My Very Favorite Robin Williams Scene:

"In the world according to Garp", Robin as Garp, used to get mauled by his neighbor's huge dog, growing up.
When he got to high school he went out for the wrestling team, and did very well.

The next time the dog attacked him in the movie, he attacked the dog with a few wrestling holds, and made the dog yelp in fear, and never bother him again.

You must be a former high school wrestler to appreciate this, both my brother and I did very well at high school wrestling.

RIP MR. Williams, we'll miss you.

Sorry to hear, he was an intricate part of my life, as I

Loved his comedy. Like so many before him his memory will go on, and films cherished for years to come. Mr. Williams, May you rest in peace.

Its a sad day

He definitely influenced my sense of humor. I saw him live a few years back and I was laughing out loud for two hours straight. The man was a genius when it came to humor and acting. I don't give a damn about his political beliefs at this point.

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different." ~CW

You people need to stop!

Stop mourning the loss of this communist! He was NOT a friend of liberty! These damn crocodile tears are pitiful!!

I have a number of friends who have very statist views and I'll be damned if I would not mourn their demise because of what they thought politically. My litmus test is honesty. I can deal with opposing points of view coming from people who honestly believe what they are doing is for good and I will take the time to debate and try to persuade them to the ideas of liberty. It's the schmucks who pretend to have a viewpoint only because it will get them power, they are being paid, or any other dishonest reason who I want nothing to do with.
The way you are acting makes you sound like a Faux News sycophant or a Santorum disciple.

No Downvote

Just a reminder that while all opinions may not be equal, the right to have one is. Outright ordering folks to "Stop mourning the loss of this communist!" is attempting to deny others their right to have and express their opinion.

Live and let live. Peacefully.

Downvote considered justified

It's one thing to express an opinion, another to insist others hold it.

The problem with this

The problem with this mindset, is you are doing the same thing that progressives in media do. You want to blacklist someone for their views.

Not to nitpick

But,you did tell people to stop mourning, which implies just what it means
Then told another here, who are you to tell me to stop, you can't it both ways
everyone is entitled to an opinion, but they are, what they are

Leave an indelible mark on all of those that you meet.
OH... have fun day :)

That political science provides your litmus test...

is fine for you maybe...but I have found that there are many people across the full spectrum of political beliefs and understandings that also speak of, and do other things in life that make them highly worthy of my friendship and praise...if not my love. That I voted for George Bush twice before I woke up is hardly a message about my character and hopefully not something that would keep people from coming to my funeral when there is so much more to me than my past voting record.

You sound like an "Abortion" or "Gay Rights" voter...kinda dumb.

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Alright Will

You made your point. He was liberal. Is it worth making an issue out of it? You already gave your opinion. Now you are getting on everybody else for theirs.

Who are you?

Who are YOU to tell me enough? I am sorry but you will have to help me understand why I should bother myself to care that you think I should not speak my mind as much as these other little girls that are crying over a drug addict liberal coward that took his own life after spending thousands of dollars over the years helping to oppress me and take my freedom.

Death equals all, great and small

Robin Williams said, and did, many memorable things over the years he had a significant role in the laughter and sorrow of many folks, world-wide. How ever he used the sphere of influence he created, and/or served, for good or evil, has yet to be fully known by us; but is definitely being felt by his soul as I write this.

I don't know of the damage you attribute to him, personally, WillinMiami, but you might want to consider a better leverage of your insights by recognizing that most folks just don't look at all those aspects when giving someone a more favorable rating than he might deserve otherwise, eh? I catch your emphatic point, but just don't get why you'd think it as, "Winning"?

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass

He is the OP and you are

He is the OP and you are derailing his thread with your asshattery.
You should stop for the benefit of your own reputation here.

Start your own thread about how much you hated Robin Williams instead of hijacking this one.

I am nobody

I wasnt asking for me but that you think about it yourself...

Holy crap

Have I somehow gotten lost and ended up in little bitch land?!?! You people need to recognize the enemies of freedom and act like men! What is all of this crying and moaning?!?! Robin Williams actively worked against liberty and for big government!!!!!

For Christ's sake

Have you not a bit of sympathy in you? I refuse to demonize and vilify every single person with whom I politically disagree with. That is no fucking way to live.

If that were the case I'd have very few friends and family that I still have contact with.

You're the goddamn hypocrite for criticizing everyone for sending their heartfelt condolences. Are you gonna tell me you don't have anyone in your life who doesn't disagree with your political alignment?

Its ok buddy.

When I am ready to purchase that ar-10, I am still gonna do it through you.

And when I have friends who are in the market, I will still direct them to your site.

Regardless of how much of a clown you sound like.

His misguided political views....

Don't make him a bad person.

And just because you didn't like him doesn't mean everyone who is emotional over it is faking it. He was a game-changer when it came to comedy and he was a grade-A actor no matter how you feel about the content of his work.

Have you ever been incorrect about something in your life? If so, would you prefer grace or condemnation from another soul?

If I am so wrong for so long like he was, I expect condemnation! I will be damned if I mourn those that work to oppress me! His money helped get people elected that took away my freedoms and unjustly taxed me. He was a willing accomplish in taking my money and my freedom! He was the enemy!!!!!
