Cousin w/stage 4 breast cancerSubmitted by BStep on Sat, 08/16/2014 - 13:01
My cousin is in her mid-40s, and just found out a few weeks ago her breast cancer is back. Several years ago she had a double-mastectomy and chemo, which put cancer in remission, and now it's back. Apparently it's in her chest cavity now. I haven't heard what her prognosis is or what the treatment plan is, if there is one, at this point.
I'm not close to my cousin at all...probably haven't seen her in 10 years, and haven't exchanged words except maybe hello on Facebook once in the last 5 years. But she's family.
I've read a pretty good amount about medical marijuana use for dealing with the side effects of chemo, but more importantly as a possible cure for cancer, a la Rick Simpson "Phoenix Tears" and other cannabis oil treatments. (I have also spent a lot of time researching endometriosis for a close friend of mine, and believe cannabis oil may be a cure for that disease.) I want to reach out to my cousin and suggest she research it, but in my family that sort of thing would be a taboo, and perhaps moreso because her father is a medical doctor.
As I finish writing this, I think I'm overly-sensitive/worried about what my approach is. I've been thinking about what I should say to her, whether I should bring up cannabis oil right away if I sent her a message on Facebook, or how I should broach the subject. I'm always worried about how people will perceive me, probably to the point of missing out on some real opportunities. So, I guess I was going to ask for input on how to approach the situation, but instead I think I'm just going to go for it.
Still, any thoughts on the situation, or quality resources on cannabis oil for cancer treatment are welcome. Love you guys.
