Lord, have mercy on us all

just as You already have:

I'm happy for you, but don't use words so carelessly

As in my original response, you weren't really an atheist and had a long way to go. Being atheist is much more than being pissed off about religious people. Actually, it is not that at all. As an atheist, I've never based my non-religion as a reaction to other people. It was a personal and private educational process.

The reason Christians are taught that "all atheists are angry" is because of mislabeled people like you. I'm not mad at you, but it is the inaccurate use of the word that maintains the assumptions of others.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

I just took a picture of this post.

Who would have thought? All atheist really are not angry and bitter. You just proved it.

Sounds like

Sufi-Christian eh?

Somehow you just took like two steps up in trust with me. Which you had already.

Sufi. Yes, I am informed.

With Christians I can relate, I can quote scripture and totally get involved in conversation but.....

What I am is a Native spiritualist. EVERYTHING GETS RUN THROUGH THAT CODEX FIRST. So all I can call myself is "not really Christian".

The reason is that the blessed name of the Lord Jesus?

has absolutely no resonance to me. It never did. It's just a couple words.

GOD I CAN FEEL. MY ANCESTORS AND TEACHERS I CAN FEEL. But this blessing of the Lord? There's just nothing there but beleivers so I can say I BELIEVE but what I really mean is I BELIEVE IN YOU.

And some of us indians have our Jesus. It's just really different. For one thing, he's not a he, she's a she and she's not human. She is a transcendental being that sometimes appears to us as a white colored buffalo calf and sometimes a human female and sometimes part buffalo and part human but always female. And she gave us The One Pipe.

So in almost kinda the way that the Lord Jesus forms a bridge between humans and God, so is White Buffalo Calf Pipe Woman our bridge.

Walk In Beauty,

Most of those who think so actually don't and most of those who think sew actually rip.

Faith, Hope and Love

The greatest of these is Love.

That is what Christians are taught to believe.

But with all humans on this Earth, "more is caught than taught."

Hi legalize

Nice to see you back. You are a gem.

You are just an angry person.

You are just an angry person. In my experience anger clouds reason. I have met atheists that are very rational and are not angry and I get a lot of insights out of their conversations. You are angry, you could as well be an angry communist or an angre neo-con or an angry buddhist, whatever. Visceral anger does not lend towards constructive philosophy and to reason.

Just to clarify, do you mean

Just to clarify, do you mean atheist or agnostic?

Dr. Paul's witness is unchanged, and we had wars before

so I don't grasp the reason why your faith has been changed or altered by these wars one bit. If Dr. Paul's witness is what convinced you that God exists, it simply does not follow that a war in Ukraine could convince you that He does not exist. What does not exist, at least in sufficient quantity, is humans who obey God to the degree that Dr. Ron Paul does.

Localism is for people who can still sleep at night even though somebody they don't know in a city they have never been is doing things differently. ("Localism, A Philosophy of Government" on Amazon for Kindle or Barnes and Noble ebook websites)

Good video. The next question is: how good is God?

I've asked this question before, and it's one to consider.

If God is less than 100% "good," then He is partially bad also. If He is 100% good, then He is incapable of doing anything that is not good.
Look to the Old Testament for a lot of not so good things supposedly done by God.

We know that the devil is not always bad ALL of the time. That is how he operates. He gets people to trust him by appearing to be good. In addition, the devil was once an angel in heaven, which means that Lucifer was good at an earlier time in his life; he wasn't always 100% evil.

If the devil is not 100% bad and if God is not 100% good, then they are closer together/less separating the two than previous believed. We're left with the following: God is mostly good, but sometimes He can be bad, AND the devil is mostly bad, but sometimes he can be good.

Creative destruction

is bad?

Everybody has them, yet opinions don't prove reality. What are the facts of this situation?
1. A young man grows up religious
2. He sees the fallacy of religious hypocrisy
3. The first person he blames is GOD

Why did you not blame the authors, or film makers for your misery? Why did you not blame the religious crowd for misrepresenting what we innately know what GOD ought to be? Do we not understand from nature the essence of our Creator? Do we not live in an environment that sustains life? Do we not have the capacity for love, kindness, gentleness, etc.? Do we not have an innate propensity to correct that which is wrong? Yes humanity chooses evil more often than not, but it is just that...a choice. Yet we also have that inner knowledge of right and wrong. We know to do good, and choose evil. All of us. What have been your own contributions of evil to this darkened world? Yeah I know, you're not as bad as the next guy right? So that makes you more good?
What is an abortion "provider" compared to Adolph? What is a rapist compared to the occasional adulterer with a wife of 20 years and 3 kids? Ask the victims.

The fact that you were incensed over what you saw as wrong(and you were and still are, correct in your perceptions)proves what I have said above. You just can't stand the hypocrisy, and I don't blame you, but you must realize that to say "i don't believe in GOD" is a statement of faith. You are still religious, just in a different direction. Are you going to start living in pure holiness now that you have made your declaration? Are you going to correct that which is wrong? Will you be that shining light in a darkened world now that you have set yourself up as your own GOD? Make no mistake, we all know, you included, that you will continue to make your contributions to this world whether they be good or evil. When you choose evil is it GOD making you do it? Did He put it in your heart? Did He cause you to make it your will, or did you choose it of your own volition? The answer is obvious, so why do you blame GOD for what others do? Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I know that Rome misrepresents GOD and HIS dear SON, but that dose not change reality. I don't blame you for rejecting religion, but to blame GOD for what others do is just as foolish as the religious hypocrites in their long white robes and golden hats.

will spend eternity burning in hell. But for a small annual fee of 10% of your annual income (which is peanuts to avoid this proposition), I can share the secrets that will give you everlasting life in a land filled with milk and honey (and air conditioning).

Gold, silver, fiat currencies, bitcoin, and credit cards accepted. PM me for details.

Hate to break it to you..

but tithing has nothing to do with it. It's just a moronic remark used by those who hate that people look to a higher power. There are no "secrets" to share, it was all left in The Book for all to read and take in. So as usual, another anti faith remark is shot down in flames because the argument is full of lies and nonsense. Surely you can do better than this.

Lol, his "argument" (which

Lol, his "argument" (which was actually just a remark/opinion) was not shot down in flames, you didn't even address it. It is clear that you are the one who hates that people do not believe in god, nothing remotely hateful was said except by you.

Confused are you?

Saying that you can simply buy your salvation by giving 10%? I've never once heard that. And I don't hate anyone, no matter what their belief system is. But have fun attempting to read minds. One can learn the truth by simply reading the very text they despise or speak against, but who wants to read something that will go against their stated goals? I'd like to see where tithing is some kind of requirement. Funny how you want me to research my answers, but you don't expect the same thing from someone who is spouting this nonsense.

Not getting in the middle of this... but...

Never heard of it? It is actually the fundamental aspect to most religions, in some way, shape, fashion, or form, but with a less direct sales pitch than the Indulgence.

The Wiki entry is not entirely correct, since the documented sales pitch at the time included release from all punishment, not just temporal... Further, they could be purchased for the dead.

A most educated response. Thanks for sharing:)

"even if we were to change society, either through peace, or by force, we would wake up one day only to realize we have brung ourselves along"

You must be a bright one. Find one tidbit of fact in that "educated statement", I dare you.

Do you have extreme

Do you have extreme difficulties grasping the English language, or are you just being purposefully obtuse because you hate the fact that not everyone believes the way you do?

You obviously don't know me..

because you keep falling back on this "hate everyone that doesn't believe like you do" nonsense. Not one tidbit of that mini rant is verifiable in the Bible, which is obviously not important to those who wish to speak nonsense about the Bible. Please show me where tithing is some sort of requirement, or will supercede your sins, or lack of faith? Good luck.

surely it was

surely it was sarcasm.--shoulda used purple.

Ah, DaleinAdaOklahoma...

I'm not sure but I believe the comment may have been intended for you. I have had this same thing happen before, and it confuses both the person unintentionally 'replied' to, and the person to whom the reply was actually made. The comment should have shown up indented if it was intended for you, but it didn't. :)

It was sarcasm intended for "Newt". Reckon I'll have to be clear next time.

"even if we were to change society, either through peace, or by force, we would wake up one day only to realize we have brung ourselves along"

For sarcasm you can either bold or italicize it

then include 's' in the < >, or you can use p and s in < >.

I love the NDAA and the CISPA. I also love the TSA and all the other three letter agencies!"

sorry about that. :)

Question: Where do natural

Where do natural rights come from? Or do you believe that some Men possess the ability to grant rights to Men while others do not?

I believe that Secular Humanism is the promotion of the idea that there are no natural rights, and that those at the top the the human pecking order are endowed with the status to grant rights to other Men as well as take them away. This is essentially what "civil" rights are. By acknowledging no highter authority from which natural rights come, one acknowledges, by default that some Men have inherent power over other Men. I don't see any other way around it.
