Michael Brown was shot 6 times by Ferguson officer

"Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by a police officer, sparking protests around the nation, was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, a preliminary private autopsy performed Sunday found.

One of the bullets entered the top of Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when it struck him and caused a fatal injury, according to Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for New York City, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy. It was likely the last of bullets to hit him, he said.

Brown, 18, was also shot four times in the right arm, he said, adding that all the bullets were fired into his front.

The bullets did not appear to have been shot from very close range because no gunshot powder was present on his body. However, that determination could change if it turns out that there is gunshot residue on Brown’s clothing, to which Baden did not have access."

Life could always be worse

You could be on welfare living in Ferguson. I'm sure once you tell the nieghbors about your world-ending troubles with an ID you'll be one of the peas in the pod, a brother in arms against the man - man. J/k

What's interesting to me

about the video of Michael Brown in the convenience store is that most people who are stealing, grab the items they want and head for the door. They don't usually stop at the check out counter first, unless they want money from the cash register, which doesn't seem to be the case here.

He was shot 6 times, 4 maybe 5 of those wounds were survivable. There aren't any clothes over his face, so that if there was stippling (which means the shots were fired from a distance of about 18 inches or less) this would have been evident at autopsy.

Just some of my thoughts.

Lets put our thinking caps on!

All tobacco products offered for sale in this country are always kept at the check-out counter in every store I've ever been in.

Look at the video.

I believe Michael Brown and the young man with him put the cigars back on the counter. Neither of them left with the cigars. They didn't steal cigars, maybe they stole something else?

Did Michael Brown Steal Cigars — Or Pay For Them?

Shop owner filed no report for theft or anything.

A customer may have jumped to conclusions when calling the cops.

what money left on the counter??

if you watched the video, he clearly stole them, as he grabbed whatever he could. What money left on the counter?

Also, the police were contacted. If this author would have actually read the police report before posting drivel.

I think he did try to pay for the cigars

but did not have ID, when the clerk refused to sell them he took them, that's why he is at the counter.

you have to be 18 in Missouri to purchase cigars.

NICE!!!

Nice insight! He did leave money on the counter, but he clearly stole. I couldn't for the life of me figure why things went down the way they did.

Séamusín

which part in the video are you referring to?

Why isn't there a theft report on record for the shopowner?

Contacted by a concerned customer. According to store owner's attorney.

Autopsy interpetation.

Speaking of the autopsy it brings up some interesting questions
1. No gun powder was found on Brown, so how was his hand on the gun when it was fired in the car?
2. How do you shoot a 6.5' person in the crown of the head?
If you look
3. if you look at the actual entry wounds, it seems ridiculous to conclude he was rushing the cop. He was shot in the palm of the hand. Who runs palms faced up? He was shot on the inside of the forearm. He was shot twice on the inside bicep. He was also shot in the eye. Motion your body like you are running and see how improbable any of those shots are, never mind all six. Most rushing someone have hands clenched into fists. Arms would be twisted inward toward the stomach concealing the inner arms, and exposing the out side of the arms

Classic DailyPaul, at least

Classic DailyPaul, at least over the past 2 years.

Police brutality against whites? Completely inexcusable, no waiting for the story to come out, complaints that this is clear evidence that Obama is out to get "them".

Police brutality against blacks? Justification of cop actions, calls to "wait for the facts to come out", subtle racist comments made.

That is just how I have seen it here. A community where Nelson Mandela is haled as a racist (just because) while the evils our founders committed are washed way just because they had the right ideas on taxation without representation.

I applaud the posters on the DP who call it fairly both ways. It seems like ever since Ron Paul faded away from the political sphere, you can find fewer and fewer quality posters on this site.

In all fairness....

I wonder what the total number of rounds discharged were. Here on DP, many times we've chided the police for being lousy shots and hitting people in the crowd instead of their intended target, yet here's a guy who just got the crap beat out of him that was able to hit his target 6 times!!
I agree with other posters on this thread that he fired that many times because the first 2 didn't stop this linebacker-sized "kid". Given his violent behavior in the QT Mart earlier, and his unstoppable charge toward the officer, it is reasonable to assume he was "on something".
I hate hearing the same quote over-and-over about a "young, unarmed black man"...he was 6'5 and 250+!!! He's like Mongo..."No, don't shoot him, you'll just make him mad". Based on the current information on this event (no, we don't have the facts and I'll most likely change my opinion as the REAL info comes out), it seems that this officer, like Mr. Zimmerman, has a lot of patience. Zimmerman waited until Trayvon was smashing his skull on the sidewalk telling him he was going to kill him, before he drew his weapon. The cop waited until he needed a face-full of stiches before he drew his weapon.
The real crime in all this is the black community lying about witnessing the incident and changing the story, looting, burning...
I was around Miami during the Liberty City riots, so I know how these things spark and progress. If they behave like animals, treat them as such.
We'll see what the REAL story is as things unfold.

OH come on

Do we really need this many racist whites in this world. Seriously, look around you - can you tell me of one white city that isn't ghetto as all hell and isn't crime ridden to the core? Seriously.

It's about time people of color and character stand-up to this tyranny. You will never see a black president for instance in this racist land. NEVER MARK MY WORDS. Yeah so what blacks are only 13% of the population, but THEY EARNED IT FOR SLAVERY. White people were never slaves, and only owners. The end.

I better get my check for this.

Lol at white people were

Lol at white people were never slaves.

I don't like forest, or trees anyways

And that check bounced.

Six shots suggest the first shots were not effective in stopping

an aggressive individual. It has been reported in the news that a friend of the officer said that the last shot was the forehead shot. Baden said the forehead shot had to be last because the kid would have gone down from it and wouldn't have been standing to take the arm shots. From the diagrams there were four shots into the right arm; this suggest the officer continued to fire because the threat continued as these initial arm shots didn't stop the advancing threat. This makes the most sense since a reasonable approach would be to attempt to stop the threat with the least damaging shot first and then resort to a more fatal shot as a last resort (the old saying, two to the chest and a third shot to the head if the first two don't work).

The friend of the officer says he reported that the suspect fell about three feet from him after the final shot. She further reported the suspect ran after a struggle at the car and the officer exited his car and yelled freeze when the suspect was 35 feet away, after which the suspect turned, taunted the officer and then charged the officer.

Cigars are used by potheads to make giant joints, which seems to be a craze in this neighborhood these days.

My son-in-law grew up in Ferguson, and his mother still lives there. She told him this kid has a sealed juvenile record for having assaulted a high school teacher. The teacher who was the victim of the assault is speaking out locally but apparently this doesn't fit the official liberal line so it is not being reported by the MSM. This was not some docile, brilliant student; he was a pothead and a thug as evidenced by his strong arm theft and his prior assault on a teacher.

I can't wait to see the riots if the cop is not charged or if he gets acquitted, if charged. The evidence is starting to look to me like the kid brought this on himself.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

the officer exited his car

the officer exited his car and yelled freeze when the suspect was 35 feet away, after which the suspect turned, taunted the officer and then charged the officer.

What's your best guess as to why he would charge at the cop who was 35 feet away and had a gun pointed at him?

Maybe he saw a box of swishers

In the passengers seat? It wouldn't be the first time.

Witnesses also say

Wilson fired two shots at a fleeing Brown before he turned.

It may be Brown charged, but only after fired upon.

I have looked at the tobacco store video. It looks to me like Brown paid for the cigars. You can see him put the money on the counter and someone on the other side take it. The confrontation at the door with the smaller man may have been over whether Brown was of legal age to buy tobacco. He was.

The Wilson started the confrontation over jaywalking, battered the two men with his car door, and got into a fight with Brown. He shot Brown once, according to his friend. They then fled. Wilson got out of his cop-mobile and fired two more shots. Brown turned, and possibly advanced on Wilson, who continued firing hitting Brown five more times - killing the alleged jaywalker in the process.

Though I am no fan of either of these two men, I would not say Brown asked for it, or had it coming. It seems to me Wilson initiated the confrontation and came up on the short end of the physical struggle; So he started shooting.

MSNBS hypnotize you?

This is what I saw. Brown is initially standing there with his hands behind his back. He never reaches into any of his pockets for money - only reaches behind the counter to emerge with a fist full of cigars. I suppose the clerk chased after Brown to give him his change (the video shows no change being offered or accepted).
