I'm all for taking the toys

I'm all for taking the toys from the goons...

Beware the cult of "government"...

... and NOT giving them back.

Google is government.

Typical for an englishmen

I can hear piers morgan in the background saying WHHAAATTTT I said the same thing and was torn to pieces. I ask if this worked so well for england why did he leave?

This is why London is known as the "Stabbing capital of the world". How can you stop a man with a weapon if you don't have one?
English - "Pretend he doesn't have one"
American - "Blow his head off"

Which would you rather have? Protection, or another reason to be victimized?

You might benefit from watching it again.

He is NOT saying the same thing as Piers Morgan. Are you speculating? Are you putting words in his mouth? Morgan advocates taking your guns. Oliver at NO time advocates such a thing in this video. Oliver advocates taking the tanks away from police. In this video Oliver never strays from being 100% in line with what Ron Paul advocates.

Hey troll what does that have to do with anything?

Are you a robot or just a stupid human?

What does that have to do with anything

Did you fail English? It has to do with something, most notably the correlation between consequences and their prior actions. We call it -- get ready -- "cause and effect". Witchcraft, maybe.

Guns stop crimes, it really is that simple I promise you. Find and armed man and try to rob him. You might notice not only would he find it to be a criminal act he's going to serve you justice on the spot.

The only reference Oliver makes to guns in the video is in his suggestion that that it is irresponsible for police to aim them [or shoot them] needlessly and recklessly at people.

Don't talk to me again.

Huh?! Pretty sure you

Huh?! Pretty sure you initiated the discussion.

Every time I see Jon Oliver videos

I have to wonder if he is a closet libertarian. I haven't seen his show, but if it's as good as the commentaries I've seen, I should watch.

Did you notice the line about seeing Ferguson residents as individuals... thats not the talk of a collectivist.
Good job Mr. Oliver, good job.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

If you watch all of his videos you will definitely notice a liberal/libertarian leanings. He is heavy on government regulating certain industries like finance and loans, but libertarian on civil rights.

Hes a good watch, i do agree with his more libertarian leanings.

I love the propaganda of the

I love the propaganda of the Gov. placing a bunch of black people behind him for his press conference, and I am surprised John Oliver didn't mention it. 4 of 5 people are black. I guess they didn't want to make it too obvious, so they had to put in one white person. I am sure they had discussions about how many black people to position as props behind him, and those black people are self interested sellouts sucking up to the corrupt power structure.

As someone that was trained in the military on escalation of force, I completely agree it shows how Barney Fife those pigs are, waving around their rifles in everyone's direction.

Many "groups" love being

Many "groups" love being used/abused as props. It is part of the "deal" they agree to when voting for certain politicians and supporting certain "causes" and accepting certain handouts (either physical handouts or legislation). Selling yourself and allowing someone/something else to think for you is simply a step in the process.

What do you mean by many

What do you mean by many "groups", races?

Individuals are the one's that sell out for their own purposes. There are sellouts of every color, and probably all of us are sellouts to a degree. Those that sellout completely probably don't like that they are sellouts, but they rationalize it and take drugs to sleep at night.

No, not at all, I definitely

No, not at all, I definitely wasn't referring to races when I said groups.

Maybe I should have better clarified "groups"...which is why I put it in quotes. I was speaking of members of the NOW, the NAACP, La Raza, etc. I wasn't referring to entire swaths of a large demographic category. Members of these collectivist groups subscribe to groupthink.

So while I agree with your premise that it is individuals that sellout, the members of these groups sold out when they joined because they wanted someone else to think for them.

OK, I understand what you

OK, I understand what you meant now. When individuals sell out, they seek a place to do so, and that usually means joining organizations that exist for that very purpose.

Ferguson population is 67% Black.

Maybe that has something to do with it?

Maybe, but also mentioned in

Maybe, but also mentioned in the video was how few black people are in the police department, and while the people behind him are probably not police, I wonder if the same carries over to whatever departments those people work for.

Would he hold a press conference with all white people behind him? Not unless he was a complete idiot, which means people are probably considering the racial makeup of the people that will be seen behind him on the national news.

outside of US, Im in UK and cant see this video.. whats going on here??

not just a top down problem

No one knows and upholds the law. This is an everyone being lawless problem.

The common law of agency with American Organic Laws already answer all sides of this issue. If the peace officers were following strict lawful agency to the principal accuser who has all elements of a valid cause of action then peace could be maintained. The cops can't do this if they have no idea what this is. The people can't hold the cops to lawful agency if the people don't know what lawful agency is under American common law.

Lawlessness will only get worse until people learn and uphold the real common law.

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...
