This was my kind of music in high school.

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

MINOR THREAT ! BEST HARDCORE EVER

Not sure if this is from the actual NTYM story ...or something Gavin McInnes made. I couldn't find the original link with the whole flyer, only a section of it.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm just well-informed

I tend to think of Rand

as more like Old Crow Medacine Show and not so much Pearl Jam. But thats just me.

Ron Swanson

thats interesting....

I was thinking maybe U2...with his very direct attacks on drones, NSA... very "Sunday Bloody Sunday" in your face lyrics...any other possibilities ??? Post one

young americans for liberty ..have

525 college campus chapters...started with 70 or so in 2008 with Rons first run...might have 750 by 2016.. currently have 130,000 members that pay dues... they are the ones at cpac, and all the state republican conventions... they are 100% behind both pauls and will play a big role in the 2016 youth movement for rand... they just had thier 2014 convention in july...speakers included ...Rand, Ron, Glen Greenwald, Amash, Massie, Kibbe ..speakers from reason, and many other libertarian heavy weights..it was 4 days of intense training and speakers for 325 kids from every state in the union..and it didnt cost the kids a dime.. including all meals , lodging, training....all paid for by donors...including the evil koch brothers ..freedomworks...goldwater...about 20 differnt big donors and many small....this is the 6th convention they have had and the biggest....liberty is not dead...its about to go mainstream...WATCH THE VIDEO IF YOU THINK WERE LOSING http://www.yaliberty.org/convention/2014/report

Wait. What? Koch brothers are libertarian backers?

"Libertarians, who long have relished their role as acerbic sideline critics of American political theater, now find themselves and their movement thrust into the middle of it. For decades their ideas have had serious backing financially (most prominently by the Koch brothers, one of whom, David H., ran as vice president on the 1980 Libertarian Party ticket)"

uhhh Last time i checked weren't they on the top 10 evilest people involved in politics along with monsanto?

Can anyone clarify this for me? did they used to be good and then turned to the dark side to become sith overlords?

Here is a long, but

Here is a long, but interesting, article on the Koch brothers and their history. I read it a few weeks ago to try and get a better feel of who they are and what they stand for. From what I gather, they have been pushing/financing libertarian ideas for a long time... but doing it in 'undercover' ways.

Interesting covert libertarians

nice thanx for the link

read my above post

Koch brothers support Young Americans for Liberty http://www.yaliberty.org/convention/2014/report

Yep! :) The article I

Yep! :) The article I referenced is from 2010... but even then, it said they gave hundreds of millions of dollars "to thirty-four political and policy organizations, three of which they founded, and several of which they direct. The Kochs and their company have given additional millions to political campaigns, advocacy groups, and lobbyists."

As far as having a bad reputation... it looks like a lot of it stems from them supporting libertarian ideas. And for not going along with environmental issues.

This is why i hate posting,

i ask a Question looking for clarification and i get down voted? seriously? very supportive guys, way to educate people.
these are the top three results from daily paul and koch brothers none of them in a positive connotation.

Sure

The Koch brothers have been using their money to support a variety of conservative and Libertarian causes over the years.

I'm curious to know what deeds they have committed that are evil.

I never hear anything specific. It's just vague ad hominem attacks by the usual left wing media on the Kochs' for honorable causes they support.

Check out other koch brothers posts on DP

its all over the place hate, love, or indifference. What specific evidence do you have that they good? you're just as vague, the difference is i asked for further information. you provided none.

Libertarians are taking over

and we are coming to LEAVE YOU ALONE!!!!
Thanks to DianaHengerer for that. I WILL have a T-shirt with that if I have to make it myself.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

Great article that asks an important question.

"During the father’s two runs for president as a Republican, in 2008 and 2012, libertarian activists gave him momentum far beyond his popular appeal, packing caucus halls and organizing rallies. But it’s an open question whether these same activists will get off the sidelines and support his son, whose libertarian bona fides are less sure but whose chance of victory is far greater."
I for one will not be on the sidelines.

Rand play too much politics.

At best Rand is a double talking liar. This Libertarian will NOT stand with Rand! If he was like his dad then I would do everything I could to get him elected! Man I miss Dr No in the house.

While I don't think i'll

While I don't think i'll actively campaign for a Rand Presidency like i did Ron (twice), I will likely be actively undermining his opponents by exposing the truth about them, assuming they are going to be Rick P, Rick S, Chris C, Jeb B, Ted C, Marco R and Hilarity C, etc.

Yet more evidence

That we are winning.

For Liberty!

Very cool...

Before I knew it was mirroring the band Major Threats' album cover I thought it looked like a old punk rock bands' promotional poster. I hope the actual article isn't a hatchet job. Going to read now. Thank you. Thank you very much.

.

I think they were making it look like a punk cover similar to one of the best American punk bands Minor Threat.

Minor Threat

Especially fitting since Minor Threat was a Washington DC band...one of the best to come out of DC behind the Bad Brains of course. :)

Going to go listen to out of step now haha

For sure. :)

I don't understand the

use of the word "Threat". He is a Republican except he is not a war monger. That's a bad thing?

What foolishness...reminds me too much like how they treated his father.

Maybe, just maybe people won;t be so stupid this time around.

The office of POTUS is a complete joke in today's America.

Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

A threat to Democrats and the status quo

Going by the cover, it seems there could be two interpretations. But who said anything about this being some "bad thing?" The word threat is in the context of WINS and LOSSES in the political arena - the MAJOR THREAT of a strong opponent.

The Democrats have been able to take the vote of young adults for granted for decades. Now, surely thanks to Ron Paul's MAJOR EFFORT in 2012, namely, his unreported successes speaking on college campuses across America...
http://i.imgur.com/UvJTT.jpg
...maybe Rand Paul will change that, winning them over to the G.O.P.

On the other hand (the cover notes), that's IF the party itself doesn't shut them down. The influence of young adults and/or libertarian-oriented voters - such as re war, foreign aid, legalization of drugs, and various social issues - could ALSO be viewed as a threat to the G.O.P., a G.O.P. run by an odd alliance of war-mongering neoconserva-tives and social conservatives.

A "threat" to the entrenched two-party system isn't a bad thing at all.

They gotta sell magazines

They gotta sell magazines somehow. Journalism is as terrible as ever.

I haven't read it

but Ron Paul made a video response on his channel that's great. The threat is libertarianism, and the doctor makes it clear again that the idea that this is only political completely misses the mark. He gives an example of something taking root and accepted by all: Keynesianism. When libertarianism is accepted like that the intellectual argument will have been won.
