They Attempt to Discredit Him Right Off the Bat

...saying it's all done simply to help him with his Presidential aspirations.

My takeaway of this woman's

My takeaway of this woman's attitude towards Rand:

"This A-hole is just doing it for the cameras!"

Of course, this is NBC News who tried to slime him a week or so ago about the Civil Rights Act of 1964. There's no doubt what side they're on.
Rand, as always, was composed and extremely well-spoken.
What a guy!

For the Love of God

...the Paul's just cannot get a break ever can they? Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Sometimes it's downright biblical. ~He that hateth me hateth my Father also~

Freedom is not: doing everything you want to.
Freedom is: not having to do what you don't want to do.
~ Joyce Meyer

I have never liked Rand really politically.

But that video was wonderful. What a good man, in some ways he is like his father. I know at the end they say he wasn't tearful -- I have never heard of a crying dr no matter what. That's like a weeping grave digger. Not many Dems in the medical halls that is for sure.

If He Had Cried

If he'd cried they'd have called him a sissy or said they were fake tears for the camera. Heck, they managed to make his charity work look like nothing more than a cheap tactic to win votes if he runs for POTUS. The guy can't win.

Rand Paul gets on MTP soon as neocon David Gregory leaves

No coincidence there. /s

Should point out Rand's father also restored vision to those who could no longer see, though he wasn't an eye doctor. ;)

I think Chuck Todd is much more friendly to us than neo-con Gregory, who apparently is going to retire and write a book on Judaism.

Gregory's top guests? None other than John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

I'll be stealing that line from here on out.

"Rand's father also restored vision to those who could no longer see, though he wasn't an eye doctor."

Just wanted to give you the heads up and say thanks, though I won't be paying you royalties.

Well kissing baby's

Well kissing babies looks good..but giving sight to the blind is much better.

Amazing

That they actually muttered that line. WTF does dems do? All of them are lawyers for the most part. None are helpful, or kind. I don't remember them asking obama about his pro-bono work.

nice hit piece

or at least a nice try at doing a hit piece.
their negative propaganda is so obvious and so stale.

MTP has slipped to third in

MTP has slipped to third in the ratings as Jansing fills in while Chuck Todd gets ready to succeed Gregory. This was ok but the important stuff is the footage shot by Citizens United which Rand will use in tv spots and Tubes. Smart.

Aside: I always wished Ron played the country doctor card more. Whenever I spoke to people who didn't know anything about the elder Paul except some ideas that scared them I'd say "he's a country doctor who's delivered 4,000 babies while being married to his wife for 50 years." Then I'd smile, "he's not scary at all."

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

Jim Rodgers: "Adventure Capitalist"

If you have not read it I highly recommend "Adventure Capitalist" http://www.jimrogers.com/

Mr. Rodgers travels the globe in a modified Mercedes Benz 4X4 diesel. He comments on the local economies and political systems from the ground level. Why he chose to travel in a Mercedes Benz:

1) Diesel is the global fuel of choice, not refined gasoline.
2) He can get his MB serviced in even the most remote and hostile place on the planet because MB is everywhere... they follow the aid money trail. Tin-pot dictator strong-men stooges have an MB fetish and Daimler is happy to meet the demand.

A Quote from Adventure Capitalist:

"Most foreign aid winds up with outside consultants, the local military, corrupt bureaucrats, the new NGO [nongovernmental organizations] administrators, and Mercedes Benz dealers. There are Mercedes dealers in places where there are not even roads."

"One resists the invasion of armies; one does not resist the invasion of ideas" Victor Hugo

The vast bulk of our 'aid' money is used to buy weapons

Not help starving kids in Africa.

What a freaking liar.

http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/politics/aid/140811/...

"The three stooges..."

... with the one stooge arguing that if we don't give foreign aid (that is, if we don't take money from US worker's wage packets by force) it would cause untold misery. What utter rubbish. Bill Gates et al will step in if the cause is worthy. The people's misery is due to corrupt leaders in corrupt governments. It's just goddamn unconstitutional. Good grief, how dumb are these people?

Who the hell is more Charming than Rand?

Christie? Hell no, he's the opposite of charm and comes across as a bully. Huckabee and Santorum are what she's describing and they are more just appealing to the emotions of abortions if you equate charm and emotion.

I guess she is trying to say Mitt Romney was charming but most said he was milquetoast and that was his biggest problem.

Clinton and Bush and Obama all can be called somewhat charming with slick willy getting the nod, but honestly people's patience wore thin over the years with that Schtick. .

The only person who is assuredly more charming than Rand is Nigel Farage and my god nobody in either party can beat him. Not even of the past besides JFK, Franklin and Winston Churchill.

There, there is my diatribe on charm which is more important than we care to admit.

Rand now on drudge again

Calling Hillary "WAR HAWK". this is the second story in as many days..drudge seems to give rand a lot of press

Struck a Nerve

The reporter can;t put Dr. Paul in a box. That doesn't fit the formula. So, she over-compensates.

The message in a political context:

1. Foreign aid would NEVER have reached these people.

2. Every dollar donated to support this medical team DID reach the people

As for the reporter, she is just another NILF..

"One resists the invasion of armies; one does not resist the invasion of ideas" Victor Hugo

Political or not it was a good chess move by Rand...

Also, it's interesting how he met with the Guatemlan President and talked about the immigration issue.

It was very heartwarming to see those people react to having vision again.

This trip I believe will prove very useful if Rand runs because it has many good elements;
Charity (from the personal level - not government), diplomacy, interaction with a foreign head of state, and addressing the immigration issue.

It was a very presidential move by Rand.

I applaud it all around.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Aren't we all lucky

that there is such a wise and oh-so-superior interviewer to explain to us what Rand is REALLY doing there? Think of her sacrifice for all of us. It must have KILLED this gal to leave the Hilton and actually walk on the dirty streets of Guatemala in order to show us Rand's "other side". Hope she didn't mess her hair, or break the heel of her shoe. Or worse yet, she might have even had to TOUCH some of those people............ OMG!! They don't even speak ENGLISH!!

Of course, one could also say.... what a rank, cynical, snide, snotty, conceited, spoiled, superior and pampered little bimbo. Que perra presumida!!

Thomas Jefferson: “Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Ole~

Yes she was out of her element..

Hypocritical Spin

They spend much of the time framing Paul as a publicity hound but then at the end say that he won't make a good candidate because he was too much about medicine while he was there and needs to 'kiss more babies'.

Which is it?

What a joke.

the other clip posted was hacked... interview removed

This is the complete interview

Semi-fair interview.

I've always had a skeptical eye on networks like NBC because they tend to have thinly veiled leftist ideologues under the guise of objective reporters. There were a lot of unnecessary asides about Rand being "not emotional enough" and "taking cameras with him everywhere" which rubbed me the wrong way, and although this isn't an outright hatchet job, it could have been handled far more objectively. Would these pricks prefer it if Rand just took his own camera crew and told NBC and the other networks to go pound sand?

On a side note, this was actually a brilliant move on Rand's part in letting the mass media cover this, because now all of these weekend compassionate progressives will have to find some ingenious way to bash Rand without appearing like heartless jerks who would prefer these underprivileged people in Guatemala to remain blind. This ought to be fun to watch.

“My attitude toward progress has passed from antagonism to boredom. I have long ceased to argue with people who prefer Thursday to Wednesday because it is Thursday.” - G.K. Chesterton

this is a semi fair interview over 3 days in Guatemala

fair reporting considering its nbc..
