Glenn Beck Nonsense-Talking

Sad to discover, Glenn Beck is a partisan with blinders on.

He keeps referring to Ron Paul as a 'libertarian' when he is a 'republican' in the truest sense.

He obviously doesn't know that Ron DID want to go after the culprits of 911 and wanted to DECLARE a war. So he actually agrees with him.

And he has fallen for the cliche that 'we deserved 911' when that is NOT what Ron said.

I think Ron should go on the show and set him straight. He doesn't know what Ron has done for people, because he has never done the research, obviously.

Bumping this to the top for a reason

Glen Beck, last night, did an entire show on the theme "Liberty in Peril". Think what you want about Beck, but after the Q3 fundraising report he was saying some things about Ron that painted Ron in the light of a serious contender. With that said...

Ron needs to go on Beck's show NOW! Just about every single topic covered (and Glen's views on them) on Beck's show last night were in complete alignment with Ron's positions. Just a few of them were:

- Illegal immigration and securing the borders.
- Getting us OUT of the UN.
- Stopping the passage of the Law of the Sea treaty.
- The plans for the NAU. He showed clips of Vincente Fox admitting that the idea of a single currency (Amero) was on the horizon.
- The attack on 2nd amendment rights. He showed video and reported on the government confiscating guns from law abiding citizen's after Katrina.
- The need to get back to the Constitution.

Now, if I didn't know better I would say that Beck is a die hard Ron Paul supporter, but I know that his views on the War on Terror keep him from endorsing Ron. But there is no way that Ron couldn't get in good with Beck on everything else, and eventually could even convince Beck that the WoT is never going to succeed.

I'm going to drop Beck an e-mail telling him that his "special" show on liberty should become the primary focus of his show. Forget the gossip crap he throws in there every so often, and focus on these REAL problems. I think everyone else here should do the same thing. Tell him that this focus was awesome and that he should make this the entire show.

Then let's make an appeal to the campaign to get Ron on there ASAP.

Ron Paul is Both

Ron Paul does represent the traditional Republican position on the issues but by the same token he is a Libertarian. Sure he differs with the traditional Libertarian views on immigration and abortion, although there is a pretty strong pro-life group within the Libertarian movement.
He also breaks with GOP convention on the Drug War and the legal status of some other life style choices.

He has run as a Libertarian and as a Republican. Dr. Paul seems comfortable with both labels, and so am I.

Glenn Beck doesn't seem to be trying to use it as a way to discredit Dr. Paul. The word has some baggage, but it is one way you could describe the message of the Ron Paul revolution. If you are well versed in political theories then the label fits.
I think the fact that Ron Paul can accurately be called a Republican, Libertarian, True Conservative, and Constitutionalist, is a testament to his broad appeal. People in all these groups want to claim Dr. Paul as their own. In a way he fits all of those descriptions.

Let's not get too hung up on which of these labels is used. In fact I think Glenn Beck deserves a mixed thank you for talking so much about Dr. Paul. He has been both positive and negative about the campaign, but he is giving Dr. Paul very valuable exposure every time he talks about him.

Normally we complain that the media ignores Dr. Paul. That's certainly not true on Glenn beck's program, where Paul's name has been mentioned at least as much as the other candidates. If every host of a political show were giving Ron Paul this much attention I'd be thrilled.

Interesting

I thought it was interesting that the statements he put on the screen were very positive conservative views, so that will serve to let people know that Ron is not some lefty liberal, as he's been accused by some, and that he is a fiscal conservative too.

Glen Beck - Alcoholic

Glen is a drunk, I have had drunks in my life. They share certain characteristics. First even when sober they are still plagued by the condition of alcoholism, so they are never cured. All drunks lie and deceive people including themselves on a daily basis. Part of the 12 steps is to admit this deception. I won't get into other details but frankly drunks can never be trusted. Oh yea Bush is an admitted alcoholic also. Go figure, shouldn't that have disqualified him for his current position?

Not True

Glenn Beck was at one time an alcoholic, but he has now completely turned his life around. I do not like Glenn Beck as an entertainer, never watch his show and don't listen to him on the radio.

I do however like him as a man. Glenn has a wonderful conversion story to the LDS church and is a worthy member. He has a beautiful family. He also reads the Luke chapter 2 story of Christ's birth beautifully, and cries when touched by the spirit.

Attack him all you want on his political views. The man is WRONG on several key issues. But don't slander him. Forgive people when they repent, and allow them to overcome their sins. Hopefully, someone will do the same for you!

Howell

Response to Howell - Not True. WRONG it is TRUE!

I will begin with the definition of slander according to Webster - "words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another" Glen Beck often revels his audience of stories about his alcoholism and cocaine abuse. Therefore nothing I said is false.

Secondly I made no attack. I simply stated what AA and every drug and alcohol rehabilitation expert in the country says on the subject:

"The first casualty of addiction, like that of war, is the truth. At first the addict merely denies the truth to himself.

First the addict lies to himself about his addiction, then he begins to lie to others. Lying, evasion, deception, manipulation, spinning and other techniques for avoiding or distorting the truth are necessary parts of the addictive process. They precede the main body of the addiction like military sappers and shock troops, mapping and clearing the way for its advance and protecting it from hostile counterattacks.

Because addiction by definition is an irrational, unbalanced and unhealthy behavior pattern resulting from an abnormal obsession, it simply cannot continue to exist under normal circumstances without the progressive attack upon and distortion of reality resulting from the operation of its propaganda and psychological warfare brigades. The fundamentally insane and unsupportable thinking and behavior of the addict must be justified and rationalized so that the addiction can continue and progress.

One of the chief ways the addiction protects and strengthens itself is by a psychology of personal exceptionalism which permits the addict to maintain a simultaneous double-entry bookkeeping of addictive and non-addictive realities and to reconcile the two when required by reference to the unique, special considerations that àat least in his own mind- happen to apply to his particular case."

And finally as far as being, "cured" as you say the experts disagree: "Researchers are learning that alcoholism, like addiction to narcotics, causes permanent changes to the brain that can at best be ameliorated but never permanently undone."

Why you feel the need to be an enabler to a known and professed alcoholic I do not know.

Glenn Beck Nonsense

I know there are a lot of Glenn Beck fans out there, and I don't watch his show everyday. The main reason is that he is a War Monger. I quit watching him after seeing his blatent beating of the War Drum to attack Iran, to stay the course in Iraq, and harsh criticism of anyone who does not agree with an interventionist foreign policy and the unconditional support of Israel financially, politically and militarily. RP does not agree with him on these topics. I know it is easy to get sucked in to Glenn Beck because he seems to make so much sense on other big issues like Ilegal Immigration. But doesn't the same go for Sean Hannity, Michael Savage and Laura Ingraham? I think RP should go on any MSM show b/c it gives him the opportunity to express his views. They can try to derail him but he always outsmarts them and get his message out anyway. Let Glenn Beck take his best shot. He'll expose himself for the NeoCon /MSM pawn he is.

LDS, Iran

Since Beck is LDS, I would be surprised if he would be open to supporting anyone besides Romney.

Glenn is also completely close minded on Iran. He wants us to nuke Tehran yesterday.

If he came out and supported Ron Paul after all the times he has called Ron cuckoo, it would be a miracle.

time wasting

I believe you are wasting your time on Glen beck. He's just another one like Rush, Hannity, Ingrahm, Savage that will have to change their occupation if RP gets elected because nobody will listen to their propaganda. So why even waste our time on these people that are controlled puppets and just spew out garbage??? Ron Paul for President!!
