Not One, but TWO Grand Juries investigating the Sorenson Bribery Deal!

The Louisville newspaper had a lot of interesting stuff:

This has the list of those being investigated. How many will the TWO grand juries indict?

Some have inferred...

.......that this bribery is what shut down the campaign in May of 2012. Their opinion was that the campaign knew this was going to come out & when it did, it would be a deathblow. That doesn't make sense to me. Ron still was on the road, he had just thrown in the towel. The bribery charge would have still been big news & taken out any activity in Tampa. So, why didn't the press go after it more vigorously? I'd still like to know what happened behind the scenes in May? There were still quite a few state conventions on the calendar, where Paul could have picked up delegates. Instead, the few of us went to Tampa like microscopic versions of "David."

Some people have also mentioned Doug Weed's commentary at the time. Well, I talked to Weed before the convention & he thought that all of us delegates who FOUGHT in our states to go to Tampa, and scraped up the thousands to get there & stay there (you wouldn't believe the inflated costs of things), were just going to "have a good time, wear your Ron Paul t--shirts,& wave your signs in the hall" and basically have a vacation. I told him they weren't going to even let us wear a Ron Paul button in the hall. He was surprised! "You mean they won't let you wear your t-shirts & wave your signs?" I was really disappointed that even the campaign insiders had no idea of how oppressed the RP delegates were, and that even they were so cavalier as to think the trip to Tampa was some kind of college fall break field trip.....

Your basic cesspool of corruption...

A lot of information on the opensecrets.org and iowarepublican.com sites -

Looks like at least some of this came out due to Dennis
Fusaro - who was involved in the 2012 RP campaign, but
I'm not sure in what capacity. One of the docs on OpenSecrets
is a recording of some phone conversation between him and
Sorenson in which Fusaro calls Benton a "scumbag"...

(Fusaro consulted on direct e-mail and did some other work on
David Brat's successful campaign to defeat Eric Cantor.)

Still looks like Ron Paul didn't know about this, at least when it was
occurring. But it does put the decision to suspend the campaign in
a different perspective, since however successful he was, this bribery
(and who knows what else that still may be out there unrevealed) would
eventually come out and be used against him...
