If America leaves... then ISIS wins, and we look weak!

That's what the neocons surely will tell you. "Murica must stand STRONG!" "We need to send MOAR TROOPS!"

I've watched both of ISIS' beheading videos, and ISIS' purpose is clear. American forces just need to leave. But of course, if you repeat this to the mainstream or the status quo, you're instantly labeled a "terrorist sympathizer" or something like that.

So just remember in this time, when you try to educate/persuade these people, remind them history didn't start on 9-11-01.

If I was President, I would gladly accept ISIS' request. I would pull all the troops from around the world. I would let ISIS "win". Who cares? Because terrorist threats on the U.S. would immediately decline as we no longer act as the World Police. The Middle East can deal with their own problems.

Rita Katz, S.I.T.E. released ISIS video and fake BinLaden videos

Maybe some of you remember Rita Katz and SITE Intelligence? Hmmm..

Steven Sotloff Video Found by Group Connected to Homeland Security and Responsible for Releasing Fake Osama Bin Laden Video

One of SITE’s founders, Rita Katz, is a government insider with close connections to former terrorism czar Richard Clarke and his staff in the White House, as well as investigators in the Department of Justice, Department of the Treasury, and the Department of Homeland Security, according to SourceWatch. Her father was executed in Iraq as an Israel spy, a fact that suggests a connection to Israeli intelligence.

In 2007, following a series of patently fake Osama bin Laden videos, we reported on SITE’s relationship with the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. The former dean of SAIS is Paul Wolfowitz, the former Deputy Secretary of Defense during the Bush administration. Wolfowitz is a key neocon and the architect of the so-called Bush Doctrine. Along with fellow neocons Richard Perle, Douglas Feith (who ran the Iraq war propaganda machine), David Wurmser and others in the Pentagon and the administration, neocon insiders advanced the principles of the “A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm” document prepared in 1996 by a study group led by Perle for Benjamin Netanyahu, at the time Prime Minister of Israel. “The document created by the Study Group on a New Israeli Strategy Toward 2000 called for overthrowing Saddam Hussein and waging a proxy war against al-Assad in Syria,” we explain in ISIS and the Plan to Balkanize the Middle East

Don't be fooled again.

I think we should send an all

I think we should send an all volunteer army over there. NOT U.S. government troops. What Phil Robertson is right, this is gang warfare, not a military one. This ISIS gang is murdering innocents.

We?

Is there a mouse in your pocket?

The contrapositive is not true

If we, America, stay then ISIS loses and American look strong. So we have if we leave, ISIS will win or ISIS will self destruct. I like the, let our journalist come back home along with everyone and let them kill off each other better.

GREAT POST Vots!!! Love the song too.

I agree with everything you said.

To put it another way, let the 7th Century fight with the 7th Century (Including Israel).

Those tribes over there have been fighting since before biblical times. They LOVE to fight, hate, kill, maime and divide themselves into tribes, clans and regions.

We have ALLOWED OURSELVES TO GET DRAWN INTO their LITTLE-MINDED fights and conflicts.

Our founders would have a few thngs to say about U.S. involvement INCLUDING OUR ARMS SALES over there.

When our country was founded, there was plenty of trouble going on in the world. But we concerned ourselves with OUR issues and didn't care what happened in the Middle East or Europe or anywhere else.

I DON'T REMEMBER READING THAT OUR FOUNDERS SUGGESTED GOING OVER THERE TO TRY TO STOP NAPOLEON WHEN HE WAS ROLLING UP EUROPE.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

I keep seeing James Dobson's attitude in this

He teaches generations to escalate at every friction until they win and that doing anything else shows weakness that'll be exploited.

Is this a Biblical teaching, or is it James Dobson's own method?

I'm surprised by your disclosure about this Dobson teaching and wanted to know the basis of it. There is no doubt that there are many Old Testament references, but are there also New Testament ones? Did Jesus advocate for Dobson's escalation of friction? Just curious about this. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with his own culture

and the parts of it he took to the most and his background in behaviorist psychology, though he did distribute these ideas in mostly Christian circles most often through his parenting curricula. I've known people to assume he speaks from a Biblical viewpoint, especially when he's not saying much that conflicts with their own culture, which isn't going to trigger much critical analysis. He'd occasionally back off from the most dogmatic application of escalating and concede that if something doesn't "work", you shouldn't continue with it, but that something first involves escalation without guidelines about how to discontinue without chaos, dogs and cats living together. I'm over-summarizing here and using my own terminology for what I've experienced in Dobson-heavy communities.

The New Testament is more of the "turn the other cheek" or healthy encouragement variety. I'd over-summarize the Old Testament as having some prescribed responses, not so much escalation, and some re-booting of relationships that can be quite harsh at times.

bull crap.

This is a fantasy.

We should pull out of the middle east because it is none of our business. The US govt has no right to spend our money over there. Interfering in other peoples business is immoral.

ISIS will spend decades murdering its neighbors because islamists are just like Nazis - they moralize the immoral.

But if the US stands for personal freedom, that alone will make us a target for people who believe that subjugation is "god's" will. They do hate us because we are free and we are not living under sharia law. We are an affront to their belief.

All you propagandists feel free to vote me down - but you know it's true. A million africans murdered in northern africa because they do not bow down to islam is too much evidence to bury in a ditch.

Ever notice how terrorists

They attack us because we're free? We're not the only free country, we're not even the freest country, yet there's plenty of other countries they ignore. Why don't they attack Switzerland? Maybe because the Swiss don't meddle in their affairs?

Al-Qaeda came into existence for one reason, to repel foreigners off their holy lands. ISIS has the same reasons. And I agree, we have no business being over there. I would love to leave them alone.

Exactly

Wouldn't the weakness displayed by the Swiss pull in innumerable terrorist attacks? Imagine the vacuum they have created on the world stage from their isolationism. They should open 900 bases and support all the "good" dictators that they can put in their pocket. Put their nose in the middle of every hornets nest in the world. THEN they will see true peace and prosperity for the Swiss people.
A billion a year or so for Israel should seal the deal and make them extra safe.

no... I won't downvote you because you express your 'torn' heart

I understand the conflict in your mind and heart.
"fighting them in their front yard, so we don't have to fight them in our BACK yard." It's just as manipulative a talking point as some of their others... like... "if you'rE not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear".
This (really) is the philosophy and principle(s) that changed and settled my heart about 'saving' the world or fighting in back yards.
Truth: You have MORE to fear from your own government than you do ISIS.

Just having fun.

Nah the public has been far too hawkish for too long to just be overturned. Even before 911, even liberals, they just don't realize. The public support "world-policing" by the US, and support us "putting our noses" into every event and every country. We have been getting mixed up everywhere based on the premise that "We the superpower need to use our power, influence, resources, virtuousness, and good judgement... TO CONTROL OTHER COUNTRIES (world policing) and tell them what is right and wrong, and "liberate them," and bring them our blessed "democracy..."

This has been the narrative FOR A LONG TIME. Even from seemingly "peaceful" hippies and extremely liberal dems. They still supported our foreign involvement in all types of matters. Because "we are the good guys." That is the underlying premise.

So you have to overcome that premise with the public; the notion that "We (the US) are the good guys, and know what is best."

We seemed to have recovered from the "weakness" of Vietnam.

In other words, looking momentarily weak is o.k. in the long run. The neocons using this argument as something to avoid at all costs will only exacerbate the weakness when it inevitably does arrive. Leaving on our own accord is much better than evacuating as we had to do in Vietnam.
