Those that were arrested will be working for free.

If they show up for their community service.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.

You're

Kind of a Dick. Those people don't know any better it seems like you're mocking them

You are not being much better

You are not being much better calling names.

I do agree with your point he could have tried to pull some people off to the side and educate them. It would have been much more interesting to see the reactions.

For example do you realize if you make 15 an hour you will no longer be able to receive free Obama care or housing? So now you will have to pay a 12,000 deductible and 600 a month for insurance. Not to mention 25% for income tax, SS, and Medicare. Then see the reaction.

Your numbers are off.

I like that you put into perspective what an average McDonald's makes. But doubling the minimum wage wouldn't double total wages. The manager, for instance, likely already makes over $15/hour. I think the number is closer to a 50% increase overall. Reduction of turn-over and increase in production makes up for some of that cost. Price increases make up for the rest, roughly 1% per $1 increase.

So say, if your minimum wage is $10/hour, and you raise it to $15/hour, your $10 lunch will now cost $10.50. You're still buying lunch. And the "lower rung" gets raised up.

Really, the intent of policies like minimum wage and welfare, is to make the bottom foundation NOT extreme poverty. So that we start climbing the ladder from a sturdy floor, and not a swamp. That was the idea of the Constitution in general, and all civil society.

Jack Wagner

I think there are a few flaws in your numbers as well.

Here is how the math would work.
Your labor costs are going up by more than 50%. For one, no manager is going to stay making 1 or 2 dollars more than the pee-ons - just wont be worth it - so you have to pay them more. Then you most likely have staff outside the restaurant(since most have multiple locations) that will need raises as well. Then you add on the hidden costs - workers comp goes by wages - so you just added 50% more in workers comp - ditto for unemployment - and when you have losses or claims - those are larger - so your ratings go down - which means your rates go up.

So now to the math on 50% more labor.

A typical quick serve restaurant runs about 30% labor cost. Food cost is a little over 30% - but lets say 30 on average.
So that .30 cent burger has to be marked up 333% to get to a buck.
With that markup - that one dollar sale leaves .70 cents to pay the bills.
Now those bills include .30 cents in labor. When your labor cost goes up 50% - that means you now have .45 cents in labor. So you basically just chewed up 21% of your gross profit(.15 / .70 = .21).

So, now, if you don't want to go out of business you have to raise your prices. So I have a burger I used to sell for a buck. Now just to break even I have to raise that burger to a minimum of 1.15.

So that 10.00 meal in now going to be 11.50. Costing the consumer 15% more - oops - 15% PLUS sales tax so (.15 * .0635 = just under 1%) more like 16%.

But wait, life isn't so simple. If I own a franchise - the franchise usually charges me a percentage of SALES - not profit. So now I have to add the 3% franchise fee onto the 15% to break even. So add another half a percent on (.15 * .03 = .0045).

So you are now at 16% higher price - to break even.

But that in itself is a flawed plan to only raise prices 16%. If I only raise prices 16% - then the bottom line profit dollars will remain the same - but sales will have increased - which means my profit margin has dropped. That means a lower return on investment for capital - and that starts a whole other problem.

NOW - add that cost into the entire supply chain - sure some parts of the chain will not have as many low wage workers - but some will - so some percentage is getting passed on.

Bottom line -you just gave us 20% inflation - plus the sales tax we pay on that inflation(now you see why states want higher minimum wages - hmmm). And that will affect gas, food, service industry and on and on - which by the way is a larger portion of a poor persons budget to begin with. So you basically just raised the prices on staple products while holding steady on luxury items - again hurting the poor.

Thanks.

wait...what was the idea of the Constitution in general?

"That was the idea of the Constitution in general..."
-can you elaborate a little more please.

Why would you tell the police

Why would you tell the police you don't need your rights today? I think we need our rights 24/7

Wow - You're just an A-Hole.

Don't you feel like a douche acting like that ? They were uninformed, what were you hoping to accomplish ? To expose them as being ignorant ?

Great job - you really woke people up by acting like an asshole to the people at the bottom of the system.

Now go act like that to the upper-level Management - and some people from The FED in that state - Talk to some bankers -

Then let's see your high-level argumentation at work.

Ignoring you was the most peaceful thing they could do -
they showed better character than you.

Your other post: "Hello Paul-Tards", and
Your comment, "You Tards Don't Get it"...
really just seals the deal

Why are you here ?

Peace. Gold. Love --- It looks like maybe you focus on Gold - because it isn't the other two.
Are you a GovTroll ?

Wow. I'm a bit shocked that

Wow. I'm a bit shocked that most were African immigrants.

I could understand if people were protesting McDonald's because they inadvertently helped create Obamacare by making so many in the US sick and obese... that I would stand behind.

I personally think every food company in America should take the blame for Obamacare and the sick and obese who need it.

More than likely Haitian this

More than likely Haitian this being in Miami.

Google is government.

I actually SUPPORT a minimum wage!...

....as long as the Federal Reserve and the fractional reserve banking system continue to devalue the dollar. We need to connect the dots for people...we need to point out that it is GOVERNMENT POLICY (via the FED) that is causing the devaluation of the dollar and actually creating the demand for an increase in the minimum wage every few years. Yet another systemic problem caused by not following the Constitution's call for gold/silver as money. End the FED!

I Agree - Artificial Help should go Both Ways

Until I hear a rock-solid argument to the contrary - I agree:

As long as the FED sits on top of the system and artificially feeds cash to the leeches at the top, like the poorly run companies to which the True Market said: We don't Want you ---

As long as the ones at the top get artificial help,
The ones at the Bottom deserve it too.

If corporations stop hiring people and it adversely affects the economy to a noticeable degree....

Guess what ?

The problem is AT THE TOP!
The FED, which started the artificial cash-support system.
The Government, which instituted over-regulation & allowed Monopolies of Power -

They destroyed competition.
Competition is THE CHECK on abuse in a free market.

If you complain about the bottom, and let the top run rampant - you're not helping.

no, no, no....

no, no, no...artificial help should go NEITHER way!

If you are wise you'll listen to me. -Oompa Loompas

Damn you i even agreed with you :p

I meant that as long as the system of artificial support exists - it should extend in both directions.

But yes - a Free Market with ZERO artificial support is the goal.

Peace brother!.....

Peace brother!....From the title of your post, I just didn't want to give the casual observer the wrong idea. I think we're just swimming at two ends of the same pool! Keep up the good fight for freedom!

So, we should make two errors?

I.e., because of one mistake (fiat money), we should make another mistake (removing the bottom rung of the economic ladder)?

Google is government.

Yes, but...

Yes, but only until we strike the root and end the Fed. My point is to move the focus to where it belongs...on flawed government policy, instead of continually allowing 'them' to pit us against each other. End the Fed, and it's un- Constitutional inflation tax (InflationIsTaxation.com), and the calls every few years for an increase in the minimum wage will cease on their own.

If you are wise you'll listen to me. -Oompa Loompas

with you on that.

My first argument when the subject came up, referred to the quadrupling of the $USD in circulation over 6 years, and the immediate and long term effects of monetary inflation, pointing out that unhealthy wealth distribution is an immediate symptom.

Getting pissed off means they

Getting pissed off means they are half way there , not a day goes by i dont wonder why people refuse to get pissed about things going on , i would rather teach them the real problem , maybe hand out some silver dimes with flyer rather then bashing them .

I didn't see anyone pissed off.

just chanting or sitting in street as they were told to do. Sadly, they are pawns for the unions.

Good video. Next time bring a picture of a machine that has a menu on the front. Let them meet their replacement if they succeed with their silly demands. Maybe even make a sign and stand next to them. Funny stuff.

Exactly!

That is what I was thinking today when I saw this in the news. Upping their wages will only hasten automation of their jobs.

Thank You

but as you knew going into this....what a waste of time. This is your uninformed and under educated U.S. Citizen.

People...If you are on this website...then you are already awake...Stay alert, prepare, and spread the word of Freedom to people that will listen.
