After the Election
Submitted by Nick Michelewicz on Thu, 10/11/2007 - 14:13Right now, like most of you, I'm hoping Ron Paul gets the nomination and then goes on to win the general election. I actually think its quite possible, and the momentum is building every day.
Win or lose his candidacy will have had a real positive impact on the political debate in this country. But even if he wins, a Ron Paul Administration would not be a magic bullet. The war would be ended, and he could put on enough pressure to at least reduce spending enough to get a balanced budget.
However there will need to be a consensus in Congress for more ambitious reforms on domestic issues, one that I don't see being there.
I hope that all these Revolutionaries won't go back into hiding after the election, regardless of the outcome. Particularly because there are so many young people getting involved with the campaign, we should try to keep them involved.
If you can, consider running for office yourself, or promoting candidates who you TRUELY BELIEVE will work for smaller government with the same integrity as Dr. Paul.
Even if he is one in a million, that means there are 300 people in the US who could do as good a job as him.
Anyway this is all thought for after the election. Until then let's do all we can to make this effort a victory, so we have a foundation in place to build upon.
