WOW!!! I don't believe how free this makes you feel!
When the word came out a few weeks ago that RP was being excluded from the Faux News debate I emailed them and said, if this were true, if they followed through with this, I would NEVER watch them again. Since then, I did watch their debate with Dr. Paul. I did watch the MSNBC debate with RP and I did watch the CNN debate with Dr. Paul. Except for those specific instances of Dr. Paul included debates I have completely and totally tuned out the MSM. (and I was a brainwashed junkie watching Faux at a minimum of 3 hours a day--I know, just shoot me)
What FREEDOM I feel! It is like a weight lifted off of me. If you have not done this, you must do it now. You owe it to yourselves to do this. Now, mind you, without the DailyPaul and youtube and other, personal websites I would be in serious trouble but my point is this, let the MSM go completely. You will love the new you!
You will think clearer. You will breathe easier!

I've never been more happy in my life
Since, I turned off the news. Try it. It is totally awesome.
What makes me feel free?
Voting for Ron Paul, of course.

Greta Wodele has my heart. :)
It's true..
I have watched very little television over the past several years. I sometimes go months without even turning my TV on and when I do it's usually just to check in on the propaganda they are pushing at the moment.
Best thing you'll ever do
I'm in my 20's and grew up without TV. I've never had a TV in the house or watched very movies for that matter. It's amazing what you'll get done when you don't have the idiot box around to dampen your resourcefulness. Reminds me of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes comic portraying Calvin's homage to the TV god...wish I could find that one.

I turned off about 1-1.5 years ago
It wasn't a conscious decision, I just sort of dwindled down until one day I noticed that my tv hadn't been on in weeks. And you're right, I've never felt more free. If I do catch any tv the programs look like programming to me...all of them. I get all of my information from the internet. Every once in a while I'll check cnn's website, but only to see what "they're" reporting, not to get any actual information. I think it's the best thing a person can do -- cut the cord. It doesn't surprise me that many Paulers have done the same thing.

know the meaning of both. I can't think of another candidate's supporters who would recognize the meaning of either one...

I'm with you there!
But not enough people know what lengths he went to to put our nation back on track. A couple months ago I found a killer bumpersticker that makes me chuckle every time I see it: "Irony is Andrew Jackson on a Central Bank Note." The sad part was that when I brought it to the office only 1 person out of my 30-50 coworkers got it! Ron Paul has been the perfect median for discussing serious political topics that otherwise would never have come up. Go Ron Go!

When I watch that filth
I feel physically ill. Such lies, lousy thinking, zero wisdom and total propaganda and BS. I am a better person NOT watching the TV news. What a shameful level our broadcasting has reached. Change up the game, take your dollars and attention elsewhere...

Ron Paul 2008
Any cable techies here
Could you build a box to hook into the main cable line in your house (hide the box in the attic under insulation) that would 'identify and filter off' Faux, MesSNBC, and CoNN? Then when you sold your house, you would have a nice surprise gift for the next owner who would be unable to tune in those idiotic channels. It's time we watch out for others, right? : )
Over 8 Years
I haven't watched TV since January 2000. Believe it or not, I didn't even see footage of the towers fall until two years later when I'd purchased the DVD documentary "In Memorium". The year I turned off the TV was the year I awoke from my "coma".
Ron Paul is my hero. I live near the beach in Los Angeles. I'm voting for my hero this Tuesday.
Go Ron Paul!!! My entire family voted for you in Nevada helping you take second!!! I'm helping you here in California!!! Win! Win!! Win!!!
Up until maybe 4 weeks ago I
Up until maybe 4 weeks ago I also was a loyal Fox News viewer (for approx 8 years). I have not tuned in to Fox News in all that time other than to watch Ron Paul on the debates. I used to have Fox News on my TV daily, for a few hours usually.
No more Fox News for me!!!! I'm finished with them. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to learn their true colors.

We know because we watched
We know what's going on because we all used to watch these stations a lot. We knew their format, their personalities, their way of doing things. Because of that are able to see the change across the board of what they are now doing.
The thing to be concerned about are those that usually aren't glued to the tv and are now tuning in to get political news so they can make "an informed decision". I think that's something to consider in why things are not going as well as they should for RP.
Try international news..
I had to quit watching the MSM too. I also quit listening to nearly all talk shows. When I realized that everything they are telling me was either a lie, or a half-truth designed to steer me one way or another, I could not bring myself to be brainwashed by the elites. I have actually started using international news for a less biased view of events. The U.S. MSM's approach sort or compares to someone reporting a house fire...from inside the burning building. I think you get a better idea of what's really going on when you are on the outside looking in..
what is your favorite...
international news website? thanks...

I did this a long time ago
I did this a long time ago and couldn't be more satisfied. I was once a Fox News watching, Weekly Standard and Economist reading neo-con, boy has my perspective changed. I now take truth as authority rather than authority as truth.

Good on you! When I got my cable cut off 4 1/2 years ago, I figured it would be a waste to bother with it again. I was right! Once you take advantage of the freedom you have to think for yourself, it is totally liberating!
By the way, the magazine Adbusters as well as the internet has really helped in educating me what's REALLY going on in the world.

I agree
I have not listened to the news from the MSM for 20 years, unless it was a drastic event like 911 or the start of the war's but the evening and morning newscasts I have blacked out for 20 years.
Most of my news I get from www.infowars.com or by listening to the Republic Broadcasting Network.
But all the Ron Paul news I get from Daily Paul and also the main campaign site, there help in mentioning to me ways to canvas my didtrict have been greatly appreciated.
At times I have seen that there are some people who want to supress the freedom of speech on this site and I think they must NOT support Ron Paul because he would condemn any action like that being done under his name.

Agreed
have your cable company come out and block CNN Faux and MSNBC.
you don't need them to keep up anymore.
That will hurt them in the pocketbook.

awesome idea!
i guess if the cable or satellite people do it it will get "counted" versus if we block it ourselves at home no one really knows but us...is that correct?
