A clarification for those who don't get it...
The delegate system is a fraud, and the electoral college (who hands out presidencies, along with Supreme Court rulings) is a fraud...
Until the day comes when 5 media conglomerates DON'T own 80-90% of the hive mind of Americans (like the Washington Post schmuck who moderated last nights MTV debate and slammed RP post appearance) through their vast easy access TV/paper/Internet/radio "news" who still 90% of Americans get their news and reporting from, FREEDOM and Truth are TOAST...
ONLY THE POPULAR VOTE WILL RESTORE THE REPUBLIC... anything less is far more corruptable, subvertable, mismanagable, and veiling of the Truth...
The average Joe on the street couldn't even tell you what or how a delegate system works, or what the electoral college is or what it's for... so how on Earth can informed decisions and votes rule the day?

The Delegate system
is what we have RIGHT NOW. So let's work with it and start posting things that will help RP get elected. If we can change it TODAY then lets do it. Otherwise lets worry about things we can do NOW.
Did you know that you can become a Precinct Leader and be making phone calls to likely voters while you sit at home?

Sorry, that's ridiculous.
If this were based on popular vote, we wouldn't have a chance. The delegate process, electoral college, etc is how a small tireless minority can prevail. They've used it against us for years, now let's use it against them this time. A popular vote would make it worse. There are way too many idiots!
my thoughts exactly
a popular vote would actually give the media more power. By using delegates, it requires people to do more than vote. It allows those that really care (and are willing to be delegates) to have their voice heard. Usually, those that care are also informed.
All in all, its not a bad system.
well
It's no wonder why people don't vote. Nevada could be something good for us, Florida wasn't really anything to worry about, no one has a clue about Louisiana, Hawaii apparently had something happen the other day, and in Maine it could be a good thing to come in 3rd.
Is this whole damn system set-up purposefully to deter people to even get involved? Now I hear that the media isn't sure what they are reporting.
Be careful...
Hillary was one of the first calling for the dismantlement. It was originally set up becauce the majority were not educated, nor informed.

Hillary Calls For End To Electoral College
yes, people are generally very underinformed
But wasn't that actually one of the reasons the EC was created?

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.
We are a Republic, not a Democracy
Because we are a republic, we follow the rule of law, the Constitution. Democracies are rule by majority whim, and with our controlled news in the U.S. (and the world) that is a disaster.
So it appears the Electoral College is working, as there is more than one post saying Ron Paul supporters stayed until the last and won out as delegates.
I was told by a high up official in the Oregon GOP that it would be very difficult to become a delegate unless I was KNOWN by the GOP, and I would have to give a speech, etc.
My daughter in Medford went to the GOP dinner and was quite disgusted at the closed-mind attitude, I went to a GOP meeting in my county and encountered the same!
What do you find is happening on your side of the state?
good post...
but the EC will propogate and continue to subjugate and further the cycle of tyranny..
