Major Tennessee Newspaper leaves Dr. Paul off list of candidates 2 days before primary.

0 votes

The Tennessean published a section with all of the candidates and their position in this Sunday's Paper only 2 days prior to our Primary. But guess who was not listed, Dr. Paul. We have been drafting letters to the editor from out Meetup Group. We have a large meetup group ~800 people, and Dr. Paul is the only candidate with an office in Tennessee, and the same day as the omission there was a large paid Ad placed in the Tennessean for Ron Paul. Please take a few minutes to help Tennessee by writing to the Editor of the Tennessean.

Editor Wrote Me Back

I wrote a quick e-mail to the editor of The Tennessean, Mark Silverman, and I received a thoughtful and polite reply. At least he didn't answer as the editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer did, stating deliberate bias. Here is his reply:

"I apologize for the omission.

The candidates' position grid we published was provided by one of our wire services. It omitted Dr. Paul. We should have caught the omission but we did not. There's no excuse on our part -- but that's what happened. We will publish a complete version of the grid tomorrow."

I answered that I thought he should run a story JUST on Dr. Paul and not include him in a new grid because many people would glance at the grid and think it was the same one. At the very least he should state above the grid, in a LARGE font, why the paper is rerunning the grid, with his apology.

We'll see what he does.

Here you go, take this and

Here you go, take this and run with it: Ron Paul polls 8% in TN; The Tennessean omits him from coverage

It includes polling numbers and circulation numbers for the paper.

Hearing about

all these papers and local media leaving out Paul is making me sick. We need to do something different, because what we are doing now isn't getting noticed. The internet just isn't enough anymore at this time of the race.

HELLO HQ is anyone home?

When are you (HQ) going to say enough? If you want RP elected as bad as we do them throw a hissy fit, stomp your feet, do something and get noticed some how.!!!!

Still need help!

Please help us with this blatant omission

LA Weekly too!

Their political coverage issue was unsurprisingly void of any mention of Ron Paul.

This campaign has certainly exposed the media.

Give them HELL

If voting could really change things,
it would be illegal. Here is hoping for change!

I

sent a letter editor.

Be sure to tell editor we intend to write to his paper's advertisers too.

PLEASE ALL TAKE A MINUTE TO WRITE AN ASSERTIVE YET, NOT AGGRESSIVE OR THREATENING EMAIL TO EDITORS below.

Ah but a small ray of sunshine: Komo in Seattle discussed RP

Komo TV in Seattle actually discussed RP as one of the Republican candidates today in election coverage, shallow, not terribly flattering but HE EXISTS!!!!!!!!! YES!!

Bump!

This is shameful ...they need to get swamped with emails!

What they need

Is to get sued.

Same - Cleveland Plain Dealer

Shameful & Blatant Censorship & emailed the editor a scathing letter
