good intentions or not, when the US kills innocents, it incites hatred.

9?

9 = How many really? That's my question. I am a complete non-believer of any info that now comes from network news or the military mouth movers. They would not have reported this if they could have gotten away with it.

I don't understand the premise of the McCain argument

Increased occupation is the way forward?
You know his presence not casualties argument.

For Liberty!

Good intentions, huh?

I'm not too sure what 'good intentions' you are referring to. Would you please clarify that statement for me before I comment further?

Thanks!

US Troops and Iraqis are BOTH Victims

The troops are not at fault when they kill someone, but it is the fault of George W. Bush and every single Legislator who voted to go to war and to fund this war.

If you read anything from the viewpoint of actual Iraqis they will tell you that it was better under Saddam with sanctions.

All we have done is create chaos and corruption over there.

Pull the troops out now!!! Iraqis will be no worse off than they are now.

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat meat!

This is absolute bullshit

The US troops volunteered to go to Iraq, even when ALL the information was out there on the internet that the war was a lie, and that millions of children had been starving from US sanctions for over ten years. It was clear that we were bombing a defenseless population. Whoever volunteered for that will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment.

Anyone who volunteered for Iraq did so because they were willing to kill for money. They knew they were not defending our freedom.

I know kids who are serving there.

You are wrong and should apologize to the young people and their families that have been destroyed on both sides.

You are wrong.

Unify

I'm sorry, but this kind of posting hurts the campaign

I volunteered shortly after 911 but they only had MP positions available at the time and took 3 months to get back to me with an Intel assignment. By then I had an excellent new career and I assumed the Iraq War would just be to overthrow Saddam and his sons...

Please do not condemn the troops. They are reading this. Many of them believe like I do that the war was justified, but now it is time to have someone like Ron Paul to bring us back to conservatism at home at least.

You don't "Volunteer for Iraq"

You volunteer for the Army, Marines, Air Force, or Navy. Then you must go wherever the hell they send you. Many people signed up after 9/11 thinking that Bush would actually go after the terrorists. Then they got snookered into going into Iraq.

Support of Troops

Good grief people, come on. Not everyone who volunteered is a warmonger for goodness sake. Don't you think these people were mislead by the propaganda machine just like everyone else? I used to be pro Iraq war unitl I learned the facts and that was just last year. I'm sure once your in it isn't exactly just a matter of leaving, esp., if you are over there. We need to support these people. I know how I felt when I finally woke up, I was sick. Imagine how it would feel to find out how your were lied to all your life while your in the middle of the battlefield! Try living with that one. Show some compassion for these people.

It's called being a contentious objector

If your orders conflict with your faith and/or beliefs, you can object and not follow them. You may be subject to military discipline for doing so.

If your orders aren't lawful you do not have to follow them. There is no lawful discipline for failure to follow orders which are not lawful.

A good soldier is not blindly obedient.

Who has good intentions?

This is a contrived war for profit of the MIC. A million innocent civilians have been killed. More than 4,000 American soldiers are dead. All for a pack of lies. I saw in a video today GWB saying that one of the hardest part of his job is "to connect Iraq to the War on Terror." In the same video, GWB is laughing about not finding any WMD. There is nothing funny about what is being done by this criminal regime. Our government has no good intentions, only lies, greed, and arrogance. Pure, unmitigated evil is in control of our country. If Dr. Paul is not the next President, we are doomed.

1 1/2 MILLION DEAD IRAQI'S By US Sanctions...

Most Women and Children... And this was before the war in the 10 years prior. Why Bin Laden felt it necessary to do 9/11.

Bombings and Disease. In Bagdad the water is contaminated, cholera, sickness.

They were much better off under Sadaam.

But, you must support the US soldiers. THEY ARE AS MUCH VICTIMS AS THE IRAQI PEOPLE. YOU CAN'T JUDGE WHAT HAPPENS IN A FIRE FIGHT.

DON'T BLAME THE SOLDIERS, RESPECT THEM AND HAVE EMPATHY FOR THEM. THEY ARE SUFFERING AND COMING HOME WITH PTSD, 72,000 CASUALTIES, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DISABLILTY CLAIMS. NIGHTMARES. IT IS A TRAVESTY..

IT IS THE POLITICIANS WHO ARE RESPONISBLE.

before the name calling starts back up...

And people start calling me a neo-con, sanctions are another unlawful ability the U.S. government holds unless relating to self-defense, often affecting not only civilians but other countries who rely upon the target country for imports/exports.

I agree with you zamboni, it's not only PTSD either..substance abuse, anger management, and overall downhill trends are abundant as well.

Ummm...You still believe bin Laden did 9/11...the FBI doesn't...

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&c...

"On June 5, 2006, the Muckraker Report contacted the FBI Headquarters, (202) 324-3000, to learn why Bin Laden’s Most Wanted poster did not indicate that Usama was also wanted in connection with 9/11. The Muckraker Report spoke with Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI. When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on Bin Laden’s Most Wanted web page, Tomb said, “The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.”

"Surprised by the ease in which this FBI spokesman made such an astonishing statement, I asked, “How this was possible?” Tomb continued, “Bin Laden has not been formally charged in connection to 9/11.” I asked, “How does that work?” Tomb continued, “The FBI gathers evidence. Once evidence is gathered, it is turned over to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice than decides whether it has enough evidence to present to a federal grand jury. In the case of the 1998 United States Embassies being bombed, Bin Laden has been formally indicted and charged by a grand jury. He has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 9/11 because the FBI has no hard evidence connected Bin Laden to 9/11.”

You will find a lot more info. Time to wake up and smell the fascism.

every one is responsible for

every one is responsible for his/her actions......
the real brave men do take a stand......
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/12/06/60II/main659336.shtml

but yes I do get your point .....

ummm...these is awfully contradictory

to the message we hope to spread.

"I have never met anyone who did not support our troops. Sometimes, however, we hear accusations that someone or some group does not support the men and women serving in our Armed Forces. But this is pure demagoguery, and it is intellectually dishonest. " - Dr. Ron Paul

It blows my mind.

I was about to add this article. It blows my mind, that we could actually go about killing innocent people in our quest to get revenge. Or like they say to protect us further, it just doesn't make sense. Also how can anyone like Romney or Huckabee be pro-life and for war. It is such a sad snapshot of humanity.

oh ...

these are just the ones reported by the biased msm....other hundreds and thousands have been killed ....imagine what other atrocities are hidden by this bloody media......yes and somehow we were to believe in the axis of evil..
well I hate to think what their parents must feel today....if they havent been killed by our occupation.......

Word!

Word!

and..

if you haven't noticed, these "atrocities" are magnified by the media while anything positive is downplayed. I was in Iraq for 14 months doing security patrols..we couldn't shower many nights because we were busy giving water to local towns who were experiencing severe drought. We helped repair infrastructure that had been damaged by IEDs. We gave medical aid to any and every Iraqi who showed up at our front gate. We guarded towns being harassed and assaulted by al-Qaeda linked groups. I dont support the war, but the level of "atrocities" was practically non-existent. I know you're tone and I can tell you're quick to bash the troops. Maybe you should be critical of the politicians guiding our actions & entering us into these wars instead.

ooooh anything against the troops is unpatriotic too?....sorry but I cannot celebrate the killing of 9 children....

Iraqi's did NOT ask for our "kindness"...they had drinking water and bridges before we bombed their infrastructure and now somehow the media needs to report the "kindness"by building what we bombed.......

maybe you could have "were busy giving water to local towns" to the people in New orleans rather than Iraqis......

besides there are a few more intelligent than you to not do illegal actions like these men....

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/12/06/60II/main659336.shtml

whats funny is that they are described in a peculiar manner by the media....there is more to life than herd mentality....

It isn't a matter of patriotism..

Nor is it a matter of "celebration"..so don't take things out of context..
And no, if you would like to get technical, they didn't have potable in many places in the rural areas until we started giving it to them..I don't think we should even be over there, but if you are only going to blame the military for atrocities, then I'm going to support what I know through experience. You can get your opinion from CBS news all you want. During my two tours, I never once saw any member of the media..but that's okay, base your opinion off whatever you wish & i will continue to base mine off of experience.

Second of all, if you have any concept of the Constitution, you would know that New Orleans is the National Guards job.

When you can overturn a dishonorable discharge, pay my bills, and get me a well paying job, then I will be happy to "quit" the military.

You're really turning me off to the movement. I'm a die-hard Paul supporter, but you're intent on construing his message to conform to your own views.

hey

we are debating and this has nothing to do with our support for Ron ....
we both agree he is the guy for the job.....so please stop threatening that you will somehow not support him b/c of me ....seriously if thats the case then ....dude im willing to say you win...now please go vote for him on tuesday....

"When you can overturn a dishonorable discharge, pay my bills, and get me a well paying job, then I will be happy to "quit" the military"

sir I dont provide hand outs and yes you don't realize it but you are a slave to the govt....uhhh so am I ...but with a lot less killings to my name....sorry kidding go vote for ron....dont take this personally

On a lighter note

I am not a slave..i entered into a contract with my own consent. slavery is being forced into a contract...

a draft = slavery, and I believe we can both agree on this.

afterall, we do say...Unconstitutional Slavery Made Constitutional...USMC

Uhh

You can't say they hate us because innocent Iraqis die.s I know that sounds insensitive, and even though the war isn't Constitutional, it is still a war to the troops in country. You can't blame them on terrorism. If they hated US for the loss of civilian life, then what about Iraqis murdering other Iraqis?
The one place where I slightly stray with Paul: the motives. Yes, it is partially because we have an interventionist foreign policy that aggravates and incites. But it is also two fundamentally different ideologies, one based upon Sharia law & one based upon the Founding Father's idea of freedom. If intervention were the sole purpose for their anger, then Sunnis and Shiites wouldn't be murdering each other as well because they are of different denominations. I guess the overall point to this is that you can't point the finger at the U.S. troops who are doing what is necessary to ensure their survival, otherwise the next time an innocent gets their throat slit with a dull machete by a Muslim, you can blame it on the troops too, right?

Now I do support isolationism,

I am pretty sure that the

I am pretty sure that the Iraqis that are killing each other hate each other as well. If you are a student of history the Sunnis were not kind to the Shiia under the last regime. This is a conflict that pre-exists our nation. I think that what this points to is not the fact that our troops are doing their jobs but the fact that in any conflict there is always going to be collateral damage to civilians. These events will continue to occur for decades or until we withdraw from the country. Who does an Iraqi who lost his son as collateral damage blame? He could blame both Al Qaeda and/or the USA. One thing I am sure of is he does not sit back at his laptop and say.... "Well, you know those Americans are just doing their jobs to keep us all safe. My son is dead but the greater good etc. etc." Please if you have time read my email response to the question "Do you believe we are safer having gone into Iraq" here:
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/32772

P.S. I don't know what you mean by supporting isolationism and the poster never said the word "soldiers or as you call them "troops" he said "US". It bugs me when people call soldiers troops. Troops are groups of soldiers without individual distinction. To call a soldier a "troop" is to me very dehumanizing.
