This is the kind of reporting I would like to see. What do you think?

PRESS RELEASE: from a Ron Paul supporter

A press release issued by the Ron Paul campaign confirms that he has picked up 35% of the state delegates in Maine's Republican Caucuses this past weekend. This comes on the heels of a 2nd place win in the Nevada caucuses, a contested 1st place win in the Louisiana primary, and an ongoing recount in New Hampshire.

Ron Paul is reported to have raised nearly $20 million from over 130,000 individual contributors in the fourth quarter beating all other Republican candidates. Additionally, FEC 4Q reports show he has more cash on hand and has taken more campaign contributions from active duty military than all remaining contenders combined.

In contrast, Huckabee and McCain are struggling for cash while Mitt Romney seems determined to purchase the presidency and finance his own campaign. All of this despite lobbying efforts in favor of all three by big business.

On the other side of the aisle, fundraising totals seem to be reversing. Hillary is trying to dodge contribution connections to convicted cocaine trafficer Jorge Cabrera while Obama is trying to dump over $150,000 from Tony Rezko's shady fundraising tactics. Rezko first worked for Obama when he was running for the Illinois Senate in 1995.

While the other campaigns seem to be drifting in and out of favor by most standards, Ron Paul has shown a steady gain in popularity due to his unwavering adherence to the Constitution. John McCain himself has called him "the most honest man in Congress.”

All things considered, Ron Paul is poised for a strong showing in tomorrow's Super Tuesday where almost half of the states will hold their primary elections. He has already taken 1st in over 60% of the nation's straw polls and placed in the top three in 59 of the 69 recorded at ronpaul2008.com.

With a consistent stance on lower taxes, a humble foreign policy, attention to homegrown issues and a huge groundswell of grassroots support, this is one candidate that deserves a second look before pulling that lever ... umm ... touching that screen ... err ... hanging that chad.

I think that's an issue for another article altogether.

Romney, McCain, and you have been added

Tried to add the suggestions and give you all credit for the help. Thanks for helping tweak this. Now, go post it somewhere else and/or print out copies for your co-workers or other people you see while canvassing wherever you can.

I keep harping on this..

But noone seems to catch it..

Mitt is NOT donating to his campaign.. He is loaning to his campaign. When he drops out, he will get that loan repaid through the donations that are being made now.

I can't believe people are donating to pay Mitt back his personal loan to the campaign. If he was so confident, why isn't he DONATING to his campaign?

Keith

well done!!

We have the best people!!!!!

Love it!

The only thing I have to offer as a critisism may be a personal quirk of mine... I'd change ~Mitt Romney seems to be financing his own campaign~ to Mitt Romney seems determined to purchase the presidency. But that's just me.. ;)

Nice article, Dennis. I had the pleasure of seeing you guys perform in Clearwater, Florida. Thanks for your continued efforts, although I think you'll agree that like a lot of us, it's not an option to stop. Keep up the great work and we'll continue to do what we can.

America, although not as fast as we'd like, continues to wake up, and the truth shall set it free!

May Ron Paul be Superman on Super Tuesday. It's up to us.

edit

Ok, did a quick once over. The lobbying comment was directed towards all 3 of the Neo-cons. Hopefully, that comes across better. As for the Socialists, I have no sympathy or concern for being soft. They're all lucky I went as easy as I did on the lot. After what they've been putting this movement through, I could write mountains of criticism that would make the best attack journalist blush.

I'm trying to be civil ;-)

thanks

I'll take the comments into consideration. Don't know how much editing will get done. Just threw this together while having some rare down time. Feel free to repost anywhere and everywhere if you think it will help bring focus to the revolution. Also, feel free to edit on your own ... and if motivated, please mention the source credit if you use most of the structure.

Great !

I like the comment about trying to include the McCain quote about Paul being the most honest man in congress.

Can I nitpick a little?

You say,
"In contrast, Huckabee and McCain are struggling for cash while Mitt Romney seems to be financing his own campaign, despite lobbying efforts by big business. "

Since he funds his own campaign in addition to (as opposed to "despite") contributions from big business, I'd say instead: "...while Mitt Romney continues to augment donations from special interests with loans from his own pocket." (Or something like that.)

Nice, ...get the word out !

Nice

Nice Work!

On the ball.

I need a beer with you.

I think that's great!!!

Will you try to publish it? I think you should. Also, I'd find a way to include that quote from McCain say RP was the most honest man in Congress. That would do a little damage.

Go Ron Paul!

Blessings )o(

I like most of it!

I agree we need some people out there telling the REAL story!

The swipes at Clinton and Obama don't excite me, though. Paul has also alternatively accepted and returned donations from various shady characters. We need to remember that freedom includes the right for people we don't like to support their favorite candidates, and that isn't a reflection of the candidate herself. It's definitely something MSM would do, no question, but I think we should hold ourselves a little higher than that.
