names mean things: Diebold is called Premier Election Solutions
I am often personally tempted to refer to Diebold voting machines as Diebold because of the negative emotions the name generates. But they removed their name from many voting machines for "strategic reasons" in 2006 and changed their name to Premier Election Solutions in Aug 2007.
I'm sure this is old news to most but know this ... some politician or election official, somewhere, will be very accurate in saying "Diebold? No, we don't use Diebold machines. Aren't those the voting machines people didn't trust?" No, we use Premier Election Solutions equipment."
At the very minimum we must not allow word-smithing revisionists the opportunity to cast confidence upon electronic voting by dismissing Diebold in favor of Premier Election Solutions when in fact there is no difference.
