My daughter was there as a RP delegate
She did not hear about a deal but voted for Huckabee on the second vote. She was really sick though so she may not have heard about the deal.
Deal with WV delegates not Huckabee
The deal was among WV delegates and Huckabee delegates. The official Huckabee campaign has NOTHING to do with this.

I actually was a delegate to the WV convention today, and I just knew this was going to happen.
Not only was there a deal offered by the Huckabee camp, but they upped the count from 2 or 3 in order to compete with Romneys offers.
No sooner did we break for lunch than Huckies and Romneys were fawning all over us for our votes. There was a long discussion by the Ron Paul room to discuss the options. I left without voting; Ron Paul stands for integrity and honesty, and I didn't feel that this "deal" reflected either of those values. I said to more than one person that this was nothing more than a consolation prize to get our votes, and I refused to give them the satisfaction of buying my vote at such a low price.
Apparently, the price wasn't as low as I thought, since Huckabee is now refusing to give us even the 3 seats he promised us.
This man is a crook and a liar. Romney is no better, and a whole lot less like-able. I heard 3 out of 4 candidates speak today, and am still convinced that there is no one this country needs more than Ron Paul.

The Associated Press is reporting on our deal with Huckabee for three of the 18 delegates that were at stake in today’s West Virginia State Convention.
Because no candidate had a majority, Paul, the last-place finisher, was eliminated for the second vote. The defection by McCain’s delegates to Huckabee allowed Huckabee to prevail over Romney.
Paul’s supporters claimed Tuesday evening that Huckabee’s campaign bought their support with the promise of three West Virginia delegates.
“That’s not true,” said Huckabee spokeswoman Alice Stewart in Little Rock, Ark.
But John Tate, Paul’s national political director, insisted there was a deal even after learning of Stewart’s denial.
I spoke to one of our West Virginia organizers — he tells me that three Huckabee delegates will step down and be replaced by Ron Paul delegates, and the Huckabee delegate who brokered the deal has, I’m told, subsequently appeared on television in Huntington, West Virginia, and reiterated that the deal took place. Maybe Huckabee national hasn’t heard, but that’s what happened in West Virginia.
