RP should announce a new party tomorrow for this movement to continue and blossom. It is impossible to rely on these rigid minded war mongering extremists any more. They will never learn or change. This movement needs a new party and a new direction. Dr. Ron Paul does not belong in the republican party. He is way too advanced for them.

3rd party efforts are largely useless, even for someone
as well known and well financed as Ross Perot. There have been 3rd party candidates for many years. Other than Ross Perot, can you recall seeing one invited to debate the Democrat or Republican candidates at the same event? The whole 3rd party question has been addressed and decided. Dr. Paul says no, so that's it. Why keep dragging the issue through the mud.
Running on a Freedom Platform is Largely Useless
It's only been done 3 times in forty four years, and only two of them meant it. The only successful run was by someone who just "talked the talk," but didn't "walk the walk."

I haven't done anything with them yet, but it was my intention to make a website to encourage all Ron Paul supporters (and any other Republican who still values freedom) to leave the Republican Party en masse should Ron Paul not be nominated.
The Republican Party neocons have said over, and over again that we don't belong in their party. That's been the subject of questions to Ron Paul over and over again in the debates.
I think they're right. Freedom-loving people don't belong in the Republican Party.

If after the GOP convention, which WILL be brokered, happens we do not win the nomination, then let all heck break loose with an independent run (no being tied down to a particular minor party already trashed by the MSM).
Here is an interesting proposal:
IF we run Independent we should SPIN the GOP nomination loss as to heck with the GOP they rejected classical conservatism for war and inflation; Ron Paul is going to caucus as an Independent Democrat. Hey it worked for Joe Lieberman and he won his independent race in Connecticut. This way Ron Paul will hurt both McKill and Hillarious.
We will get more Media as Independant!
Most people are Independents now,they just have to hear Ron Paul's message!

Okay, I am going to get slammed for this post but its gotta be said - reality is,,,, Ron Paul is NEVER going to get the presidential nomination from the republicans - FORGET A BROKERED nomination because 1. McCain is going to get the nomination and 2. Paul would *never* be the GOP's voice...
Its time we ALL SEND EMAILS to campaign headquarters that are prepared to FINANCE a third party run... Paul's donations are going to fail if he stays in the republican field... IF HE GOES THIRD PARTY we can all donate over again for him... He will get lots of support from all the loosers supporters because the hate factor is so high this campaign and Ron has avoided the hate factor...

Ron has 10% popularity among the people and maybe more right now but all demos are voting in the demo primaries because its soo close and all republicans are backing McCain and the other mainstream republicans because its sooo close... they might WANT to vote Paul but cant at this time... its the hate factor...

But a third party run can not win the presidency. First he would not be allowed to be on a presidential ballot in many states. Second the media won't mention him.
Why to run third party - ensure that the GOP loses in 08. Although this will happen whether Romney, Huckabee, or McCain wins the nominee. Secondly, it would bring more people to the movement. Another reason is that I will vote for him.

There is going to be no conservative candidate running. Voters would be forced to vote for Paul because his message is too strong to ignore. Yes, the GOP has been hijacked by neo-con radicals, but in a third party Paul would gain so much support from outside the GOP. We need another few BIG money BOMBS to ensure a successful third party run. RP 08!!!!!! The two parties are two polarized and people are looking for someone outside the machine to vote for. Those are the trump card in case any sneaky tricks are plled at a convention. They are the big endorsement types like Govs and former Prez and stuff like that.
We need to keep high morale and have time to do mass canvassing. Stumbling along with mediocrity is not good for the movement. It must remain active and think outside the box. We can't play their game. We need more time than a 30 second commercial or a flyer or a newspaper ad. We need groups of three or four going door to door canvassing for months. Multiple well timed money bombs.

Your suggestion that we can win this with canvassing alone is wrong. The revolution takes a long time to build -it takes a lot of talking to people over a long period of time even to get one supporter. I have canvassed in my precinct in Florida all alone. It would have been great to have 2 or 3 fellow Ron Paul patriots to join me, but there aren't enough of us yet. Don't get me wrong, canvassing is very important. But I really think we need BIG endorsements and much more media attention to get a foothold.

We need a new party.. The Republicans that are on our side will stay on our side anyway. We need a to pick a party that appeals to all. I've met too many democrats who say they'd vote for Paul but won't because he's a republican. If we have Hillary vs. McCain, I think we could get a lot of support as a third party..

Nobody is giving up, but some are just suggesting new ideas to get broader appeal. Your logic is simple, but sound: if he can't win Republican, why would he win 3rd party? I can't really argue with that. This is the belief I held all along, but I guess now I'm starting to wonder if a new party wouldn't be such a bad idea. Then again... I think you're right. My frustration is leading me into an "isolationist" mentality.. hehe :-)

NY has the largest Conservative Party in the country
All it is good for is helping elect or destroy Republicans and Democrats.
Trust me, you do NOT want to be a Republican whom the Conservative Party rejects (like Rudy Giuliani; that's why he sued to make NY winner-take-all; because he would have won the city, but lost the rural areas).
This has to be a NATIONAL Party - that already has at least some legal footing.
I'm switching to the Constitution Party.
I do not care about their being Christians - they HATE Huckabee - they believe in the Constitution and understand that we are in a war against the Anti-Christ - that our government is fighting these wars in order to bring the Anti-Christ to earth. If we went third party. The campaign could get info packet and send them to precinct leaders. Then meetup groups could begin coordinating mass canvassing. We have MONTHS to save money and get the messsage out. We would have more time to reorganize. The campaign could do all the technicalities and we can build support slowly by taking our time and informing the public. WE NEED TIME!! You can't explain this stuff in a 60 second commercial or even a full page newspaper ad.
We need to to organize events to inform people. That way we do not need the media. Once we inform them and get them to our side. THEY BECOME SUPPORTERS.
That is how I see it.
