OP PRESIDENTIAL TRUST DINNER
October 16, 2007
7:00pm

National Building Museum
401 F Street, NW
Washington, DC 20003

Join your fellow Republicans on October 16, 2007 for a special dinner to benefit the RNC Presidential Trust, featuring our 2008 Presidential candidates. Under federal election law, the RNC is able to spend up to $17 million to support our Republican nominee next year, and the RNC is the only source of such contributions available to our nominee. The RNC’s Presidential Trust will play a critical role in determining who our next President is.

This Dinner is a tremendous opportunity to see many of the major figures in the 2008 Presidential race, united to ensure our Party has the resources necessary to take back control of Congress and retain the White House next year.

Please enter the below information to complete the RSVP process. If you are already a current and active Member of a particular RNC program, please instead contact the Finance Division directly at 202-863-8720.

Featuring the 2008 GOP Presidential Candidates

The Honorable Rudy Giuliani
The Honorable John McCain
The Honorable Ron Paul
The Honorable Mitt Romney
The Honorable Fred Thompson

Any news on this?

So is this for real or not, did anyone found out? Why isn't it listed on the events list on the official site if it is real?

Never

The Republican Party received their last donation from me 3 years ago. When I was making my decions for the 5 GOP candidates to donate to during the 2006 election (I always picked 5 GOP candidates plus a donation to the RNC), I realized the GOP no longer deserved a dime of my money. Ron Paul on the other hand...

"I am a friend of the Free State Project. Check it out...and if you like it, join and continue the effort!" -- Rep. Ron Paul

"I am a friend of the Free State Project. Check it out, join and continue the effort!" -- Rep. Ron Paul

Watch how you donate your money....

Yes Dr. Paul is invited to this event...because they can not ignore the fact that his supporters actually reach into their pockets...
All donations at this event will go to the REPUBLICAN PARTY....NOT to a specific person. Then when a Republican is chosen to run in the general election THEY will have all that money....
So if Paul wins the party's vote...great...but if not...you just donated to say Rudy....

In MHO, go to show support...maybe even make a SMALL donation just to show that the numbers where there....but only give what you would be willing to give Rudy....you can always donate BIGGER directly to Dr. Paul when he wins the party's vote.

You're right, the money goes

You're right, the money goes to the RNC.

Tickets are $1000 each.

If you are a registered Republican, you can contact your GOP State Committee and ask if there are any available tickets and if someone will sponsor you.

Can't Show

Well I don't have the time and money to go, but any Ron Paul folks who do should go. The RNC is the establishment. If they include Ron Paul in an event like this it's because they feel they have to.

It's a really good sign, and the more Ron Paul fans who show up, the more it will cement his position as a frontrunner with the inner circles of the party.

I am attending this dinner

I am attending this dinner and will be there to support Ron Paul.

Blueangel please respond, thanks

Blue, so it is a real event? If it is can you find any valid mention of it for me, because what I went through today was rather bizzarre, as far as what I could find, and my out of the ordinary Norton experience.

Also...

Also, the dinner was advertised on the RNC website a couple of weeks ago but is no longer on the homepage.

www.gop.com

It is listed on the calendar on FoxNews Politics

and an article about it here.

Thanks that was helpful.

Thanks that was helpful. Thanks very much, I appreciate it. Apparently it looks like I need to uninstall norton and change back to Mcaffee.... rofl. In all seriousness I am glad to see it validated.

Thanks Blue.

Yes

Yes, it is real and an annual event hosted by the RNC. It is a fund raiser for the party.

I am under the impression that Ron Paul will be there. That is my sole purpose for going, to give him support.

I heard today that Tancredo and Brownback were not invited to attend, probably because they wouldn't pull in $$$ for the party.

OK thank you for the

OK thank you for the response. I am totally befuddled as to why I found that very announcement and when I clicked on the link to register norton blocked it immediately and after further research I could find no information related to it on the GOP site. Chance perhaps? lol
Thanks

I have no idea why that

I have no idea why that happened. Maybe the RNC is gauging (sic) hits from Ron Paul websites. Who knows, I wouldn't put it past them.

they are now attacking

(please read all comments) Recently I have been running into people who spend all there time negatively posting against Ron Paul. On digg last night I found a person who has posted almost 3,000 times since Sep. 19 against Dr. Paul. That's just one site. I think it likely that they are getting paid to do this.

Bam, I hope your referring

Bam, I hope your referring to (at least what I think was) the phishing thing and not my post which might seem to appear as if I am dogging a good thing about Ron. Just in case there was a misunderstanding- I support Ron and his backers fully. I am only trying to prevent one of us from being scammed if it indeed is or was a scam. I wasn't sure about the angle of your message. That's all. No offense intended.

I don't know what to make of it. It's just strange how it happened the way it did.

Ron Paul is NOT Top Tier

RP is NOT Top Tier ... he is the NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES ...rudy mcromson can have the top tier ... we have the presidency

I liked the way you phrased it.

Ron Paul does not have this on his Upcoming Events

Go to www.ronpaul2008.com and look under "Upcoming Events." This "GOP Dinner" isn't on there.

Something is fishy.

Ok here is what I just

Ok here is what I just found. I tracked to a site that this was posted on. I found it in an archive apparently. The link at the bottom was www gop com (DO NOT GO HERE ANYBODY! THE LINK CAUSED MY NORTON TO POP UP IMMEDIATELY WITH "THIS IS A KNOWN FRAUDULENT WEB PAGE" AND AUTO BLOCKED IT) and that is the first time my norton ever did that, which tells me it isn't good. This may be a bogus post by someone with some malicious intenet and my guess is was never an actual intended event.

Are you sure?

www gop com sound pretty legit to me?

bigmikedude's picture

It makes sense that it is

It makes sense that it is fraudulent, the letter is trying to get people to "RSVP" for the event. That is done by giving your credit card information and donating to it. It is likely a theft set up. NOTE the "Please enter the below information to complete the RSVP process"
It may have a legit GOP phone number, but many will just register and not call that because it makes it look authentic. I found a site that is legit with that address also. Maybe it is a "redirect" to a malicious site. I don't know for sure but that is a red flag for me. Perhaps someone with savvy and stealthier computer skills than me will investigate it further and let us know. lol

bigmikedude's picture

Wow, get this...

Now when I click on that same link I found in the full version of this "notice", (on a PRO RP BLOG page to top it off), since norton blocked it, it takes me to the actual gop com page. Interesting. Possibly was intended to redirect to a theft page and the pro RP blogger didn't know it? The deeper I dig the more interesting it gets. I don't know what to make of it.

I'll let you know if I find anything

I can't find anything

I can't find anything anywhere about it. It's almost as if it has been shoved under the rug and cancelled. No current info at all.

Can you perhaps

call them and ask? Cause I'm from Europe and I can't, otherwise I'd do it.

bigmikedude's picture

I'll try, but today is

I'll try, but today is Sunday. I don't know if anyone will be there but I thought about that already too lol.
