And after strong recommendations thought it was worth posting separately. ColdFusion gets the credit for this.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I know a path - expensive, but DEVASTATING to MSM
On February 5th, 2008 ColdFusion says:
Being in the business I'm in, I've had years of experience learning how to eliminate competition. And the best part is - the harshest TRUTH is - "He with the most funding can win" .. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I'll delay all the technical crap and get right down to the brass tacks:
RP has dozens of websites out there devoted to advancing his campaign. Huge amounts of money has poured into the campaign through these modern marvels. We all know this already, so I dont have to give you more details on that.
Unfortunately, the way the 'system' works, unless you've got a reason to go type 'Ron Paul' in the major search engines, you probably wont find out much about him. The undecided voters, uninterested, or even the 'decided' voters out there who surf the internet (10x more than watch television or listen to radio) probably haven't found much information - because they rely on MSM sites.
We all know that too. So how do we get over that problem? How do we get FLOODS of people hitting the RP sites?
It is a very easy thing to do. But it's gonna cost.
First off, dont give money for TV or Radio ads that promote web sites - because that just empowers the MSM even more. Use TV monies for RP vote-getting ads, not 'interest seeker' ads.
Here's how we win, win big, and slaughter the opposition:
Grassroots folks who are maxed out and looking to give more money to promote our champion, new folks who have been waiting for a 'better idea' (not that I'm claiming this is better - just that it WILL work), listen up.
Pay Per Click.
That's the answer. Promote RP sites by purchasing pay per click advertising slots on all the major search engines.
I'm not talking about having the top slot in search results for 'Ron Paul'.
I'm not even talking about having the top ranking in search results for 'Campaign 2008'.
I'm talking about having the top slots in EVERYTHING.
Someone types in 'daily news' in a search engine - RON PAUL comes up
Someone types in 'economy' in a search engine - RON PAUL comes up
The word list can be a huge as the money that backs it.
Imagine if every time someone typed in words like; economics, iraq war, foreign policy, trade, stocks, banking, credit cards, small business, world news, healthcare, drug companies, oil prices, gas prices, job searches and on and on and ON - the top results come back as links to Ron Paul's campaign.
The question is 'economy' - the answer is Ron Paul
The question is 'iraq war' - the answer is Ron Paul
The question is 'healthcare' - the answer is RON PAUL
See where I'm going here?
The only thing to consider in this easy no-brainer is the cost.
Pay per click works just like it says. If someone clicks the link, a fee is charged for that click. Clicks can cost ten cents, some cost a lot more (currently pay-per-click trends show that the top spot for the word 'revolution' will cost you about 3 dollars a click).
So now you'll want to know what the 'negative' aspect of this is... and there is one.
Opposing candidates can gather up their sheep and have them all flock to the search engines and click click click, costing money. Search engines are pretty good at detecting click fraud, but there will absolutely be some to consider along the way.
So there you have it. Domination of the internet through pay per click. And you dont have to stop at RP related terms. You can grab the top slot in searches for individual state names, even OTHER candidates names.
Someone types in 'John McCain' and the top ranking search result comes back 'Ron Paul'. (hehe.. the answer to John McCain is Ron Paul)
I could do a cost estimate study on it, which would take a day or so to run some numbers.. but I can pretty much guarantee that it's going to cost millions to keep the pressure on from now through November.
Ok.. there it is.. now you can pick it apart and smash my idea all you want.. I can take it. This might be the exact 'wrong' thing to do, and I'm just so stuck in my little internet-based life that I think it's a better idea than it really is :)
Fire away!

I'm for it!
Okay CF, get this rolling & get us started!
Obama = O.ne B.ig A.ss M.istake A.merica
Dont' forget to
check out google trends to see what the top 100 search terms are for any given day. As an example: Super Tuesday Ron Paul was # 60 on 2/5/2008. Lots and Lots of clicks in top 100.

I'll be first to burst the bubble
that is gonna cost a lot. that in itself is okay, but it'll be a waste of money because I don't think it's effective. Not only the cost will be astronomical because a search for 'daily news' is in no way relevant to 'ron paul', this is not a targeted advertising.
if i type ebay, i am going to click only on ebay sites. there is very little chance of me clicking and wasting my time to click something else that is totally not related. i agree that spending money this way will definitely put RP out there, but it won't be effective, imo.
plus, we need to target sheeple. Most sheeple don't do internet, they do TV. So, my suggestion, is to take over one of the TV station and do our own 'propaganda'.

I have to agree somewhat
The people on the Internet are not the people we are having difficulty reaching it's the elderly and the people that are sold on the Repub machine's candidates. My aunt, for example, didn't know about Dr. Paul until I told her. She is on a fixed income with her husband but they were open to the idea once I informed them. She believes B.O. is a Muslim because of an email and even though I told her it was not true she said she believes it anyway.
My point is the people that need to be reached are sitting in assisted living facilities and retirement homes and go golfing or go to their VFW or bridge clubs and to reach them advertising needs to be done in the AARP mag and people need to show up to these places and give presentations. Religious representatives need to go to churches and synagogues to speak about how important freedom and following the Constitution is and how we are a nation of justified war not preemptive war.
These people do listen to the old media because they are the sheep and if you can't pay for the guards of the old media to say what we want they will be told by someone else to say something else.
The occupation in Iraq may last until the next time there is an election so now that there are 1/2 a million preachers of liberty out there the movement needs to take advantage of that now and spend the money to promote the message to get more people on board and make inroads into the mainstream.
History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.

Internet doesn't matter :( Here's why:
The majority are literally SHEEPLE:
I told my mother and brother about the cut cables, the anti-missile ship in Haifa, the Iranian Oil Bourse, The Saudis switching to Euros.
What did she say? "You keep saying these things, but I do not see it in the papers or on TV - not even the BBC - you cannot trust what you read on the internet!"
I told her they are DELIBERATELY not reporting the truth because we are probably going to bomb Iran and they don't want us to know in advance.
She DOES NOT BELIEVE ME!!!!!!!!
However, she is planning to send my brother to Canada.
(my brother believes me, but he won't look anything up himself - he's lazy - all he cares about is guns, video games and pot).
In otherwords, she HATES McInsane (she has heard him say "more wars" and "100 years in Iraq"), so she knows that we MAY have a draft. But she does not believe ME because I get my information from the internet - "Where anyone can write a story."
She KNOWS the media is deliberately ignoring and screwing Ron Paul - she does NOT like Ron Paul, but she does see that the media is biased and she is pissed that the media has pushed McInsane into the forefront.
Yet, she STILL LISTENS to the very medis she hates.
The point: There is NO HOPE of convincing these people.
They are brainwashed by the public education system and the media.
They were TRAINED to believe that any other opinion or news is a lie.
Just forget it. Go underground.
I only trust the Amish and the Russians - Amish are not brainwashed, and the Russians know that all Western media is nothing but a bunch of lies.
TRUST NO ONE!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat meat!
The internet does matter and here is why : )
Dear heart, I have seen you and others on these forums call the sheeple "the majority". It sparked my interest so I went to the US CENSUS BUREAU site and obtained these figures: as of July 2006, total number of 20-34 yr olds = 61m; total number of 50-70 yr olds = 61m. This tells me that we should be spending our limited time and resources with clay and not with rocks. The rocks are not a majority if you include 18-20 yr olds plus the 35-45 yr olds who are still more clay-like than rock-like. These are the people (voters) who use the internet. If we hone in on the top five or so pay-per-click words (updated weekly), we should be able to support this effort. Also, by monitoring the campaign donations, we will easily see our roi.

Terribly sad isn't it?
But terribly true. I have the same problem with members of my family, and what's left of my friends. :(
Brilliant!
But sounds pretty expensive?
I'm in for Pay Per Click advertising
How does it get set up?
bump
it up! You could narrow it down to key states still left.
I like it :)
CNN = Ron Paul
FOX news = Ron Paul
China = Ron Paul
And the beat goes on...

It might work, but I would
It might work, but I would go for an infomercial first. Something that is on TV several nights with the website and donate, at the bottom. Let RP explain what is going on and ask for support.
