Ron Paul wins another straw poll!
Paul won with 32 percent, McCain came in second with 17 percent, Hunter was third with 15 percent, and "Romney was in the lower numbers because people came out for his event but they just didn't vote for him," according to organizer and McCain operative Paul Jackson.

Party unity?
If the Republicans do not nominate Ron Paul then I think all of his supporters should support Hillary Clinton. If it communism rather than liberty the country wants . . . Then give it to them!
There are enough RP supporters to change the outcome of the election. RULE or RUIN. We Republicans have been fed the party unity diet long enough.
Lol.
Ron Paul ain't going nowhere, except first class to the White House.
“To lead people, walk beside them... As for the best leaders, the people do not notice their existence. The next best, the people honor and praise. The next, the people fear; and the next, the people hate... When the best leader's work is done the people say, 'We did it ourselves!'”
~ Lao Tzu quotes (Chinese taoist Philosopher, founder of Taoism, wrote "Tao Te Ching" (also "The Book of the Way"). 600 BC-531 BC)
Pretty sure when he gets there, all the meetup groups are going to say, "We did it outselves!" ;)
get the 3rd party idea out of your head
As Paul has stated....If he moved to a 3rd party, all his time and MONEY would go to just getting his name on the ballots in every state.
Nuff already
Either the GOP is for limied govt with Paul as Pres...or 2008 will be the final death blow of the GOP platform. Period.
Let go forward people. Force the party to its platfrom.
All they did was tack on 1% to RP .. 33% now baby
They named the article Romney Loses in NV ... i know the bias is retarded and it should say Paul Starts Fires All Over the Country .. but oh well .. it helps degrade Romney a little bit ...
keep on rainin', the levy's gonna break........
Let Ron Paul's wins keep stacking up. After the MSNBC boondoggle of presenting a poll after the debate, and then pulling down the result, and then their editor offering a lame exuse for doing so, I'm starting to see a real outcry against these media bums. They represent everything we're against! But that's OK, like the song says, 'keep on rainin', the levy's gonna break". The Ron Paul campaign is like a smoldering tender box that's getting hotter all the time....one win at a time, one donation at a time. Even with all the media bias (which is being documented very well these days thank you) the other candidates are beginning to be exposed for all kinds of weaknesses, and Ron Paul just keeps standing tall, drawing more support. When the levy breaks, and the the media mongrels discover that Ron Paul is catching fire, they'll have to jump on board, or be left behind. But come to think of it, isn't that exactly why they are trying to move primaries up early, so that Ron Paul won't have a chance to ignite before it's too late? Isn't this sinister? It really causes me deep concern for our Nation, when a decent man like Ron Paul is bullied by all the so called "powers that be" and the average guy doesn't even notice.

MSNBC has made a correction - now they say Romney was second
***UPDATE***Correction: An earlier version of this post had incorrect straw poll results. Romney was NOT fourth, but second. The post below is now correct.
You can see it when you click on the link above.

Do you KNOW how to become a Delegate for Ron Paul? -- Do it!
lol
he wasn't even there and he ripped them to pieces
lmao
haha thats hilarious.
Imagine how hard they'll
Imagine how hard they'll have to work to ignore Ron Paul once he's elected President. The headline would probably be "Romney Still Not President".
Notice how the title is "Romney loses" Not "Paul wins"
Typical. I'm getting so tired of this treatment. I guess they will just con tinue to marginalize him and when he wins New Hampshire, they will stay silent then too I'll bet. Stories about bills will just disappear it won't be because president Paul vetoed them.

Buchanan won New Hampshire. Nobody cared.
Pat Buchanan beat Bob Dole in New Hampshire. Nobody seems to remember.
I remember
I remember it well, although I was just a kid then. Of course, I'm from New Hampster. That was a big deal back then and I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers it.

Yup.
I can see that happening too. I know he has said that he won't run 3rd party. This would be the perfect excuse for him to jump to a 3rd party. I can imagine him saying something like, "well if the media is going to treat me like a 3rd party candidate, I am going to run like one."
I want him to win the Republican nomination. However, with the disgruntled people on both sides of the road, this could really be a the year to usher in a legitimate 3rd party. Which would be nice, becuase lets face it, R's and D's are opposite arms on the same crack-head.

No, no and no
He said it time and again, that he wont do that.
I think he would loose all credibility if he did it, because everyone could easly call his run as a R candidate as a publicity stunt to eventually run as 3rd party.
So no, he shouldn't do it, even if he doesnt get the nomination.
Your kidding, right?
I can't believe this.. You think he should just drop out of the race entirely - and watch idly on the sidelines as the candidates who will preserve he status quo - and disregard the constitution, run for the White House!?!
No way. He has consistently said he would not do that, because thats exactly what the media needs to hear. Can you imagine; no one would take him seriously.. They'd be some basis to it aswell. They'd kick him off the debates, and he loses he opportunity of increasing the grass roots campaign. He is legitimately running for President as a Republican. That MAY change is we FAIL in not getting him the nomination.
When you are FIGHTING the system, sometimes you have to play it. Also if you look back at what he's said, the wording doesn't actually rule it out entirely. (My opinion)
I think it would be a disgrace, if he somehow lost the nomination ("He IS going to win NH, and the rest will follow") and then dropped out, not to run as a 3rd party candidate. If he doesn't make the nomination; the only thing that changes is that even bigger history will be made! First women president? First black president? NO - first 3rd party candidate president!

no mention of giuliani?
why no mention of colonel klink ?(giuliani) he barely registers in any of the straw polls and never shows his face at any either. how can this clown be viewed as a top tier candidate? i see him sucking wind in the primaries. his supporters consist of tv watching zombies who think they wont even have to go to the polls because hes got this wrapped up. boy are they in for a surprise.ive yet to see a crowd of supporters that even comes close to ron pauls crowd on a slow day. its gonna be funny to see how the msm is going to explain why he did so poorly when the polls conducted by the gods of polls said he had such a commanding lead over everyone else. the truth will hit the fan and spread all over everyone.
about duncan hunter...
"we fear change, especially nickels"
I still don't understand why he did so well in the texas straw poll, and now this one.. I mean, this might sound silly as a paul supporter, but i was under the impression he really had NOO chance
"we fear change, especially nickels"
Why Duncan is doing well...
Duncan Hunter is doing well because he is focusing his message a lot on the border and finishing a border fence(so then we are trapped in, just like they are kept out). He was in Texas for about a week, maybe more, before the Texas Straw Poll going around and talking to people about the immigration issue, plus the Texas Straw Poll wasn't exactly a count of the people of Texas, it was a count of past delegates.
Also, as of Pat Buchanan winning New Hampshire, I think he also won Iowa, but he lost a state that has been key in who wins the Republican nomination since 1980, and that state is South Carolina. Pat Buchanan did win New Hampshire, but lost South Carolina to Dole. Dole got the nomination.
John McCain won New Hampshire in 2000, but lost South Carolina to George Bush. George Bush got the nomination.
The Paul Campaign better get busy and get Dr. Paul to South Carolina...I visited the campaign office 2 weeks ago, the place seems to be run in a very unprofessional way. We as the grassroots cannot depend on the campaign, it is up to us to get Dr. Paul elected! The only thing stopping us, is ourselves! Get BUSY!

Gambling
Ron Paul would be good for gambling supporters, might be a reason why he had such a strong showing.
Pay No Attention To The Man In Front Of The Curtain
Pay no attention to the honest man in front of the curtain (Ron Paul). The men you really want (MSM Obi Wan Kenobi waving hand) are behind the curtain...
Hooah!
Ron wasn't even there and Mitt Romney and Duncan Hunter spoke .. lol ... and he still won hands down ... this one was real bad for Romney ..
someone summarize Nevada
I could only assume that the rest of Nevada is fairly conservative compared to Vegas, much like how Florida is to Miami and upstate NY is to NYC. I wonder if caucuses run differently from state to state, and why it is some states still prefer a caucus over a primary? Haven't heard much about Nevada yet in the news, but the first few states with the most delegates will be the most important for sure.
Curious Because...
I'm mostly interested because I'm in NH. Our state law says we have to vote 2 weeks before any other state primary, and the Secretary of State here takes that very seriously. We'd push it up to Novemeber if we have to.
Caucuses don'tcount though, so if WY and NV are caucus states, then that means they will go first and we'll have extra time here.
Of course, if they go first that makes them very important.
How does it work in Nevada?
I can see that Nevada is going earlier than Iowa, at least at the moment. Is Nevada a caucus or a primary?
Anyone know how much support Ron has in Nevada and Wyoming, they will be important states this year.
Bad article
The article spends most of its time discussing Mitt Romney, who didn't even place top-3 in the poll even though he attended live! Shouldn't the focus have been on the winner of the poll, Ron Paul?
I left a comment, but who knows how they screen those things at the mainstream sites, so whatever.
Romney is a sham and should drop out.

My Comment to MSNBC
I submitted this as a comment to MSNBC regarding the Nevada Straw Poll article...
Thanks for the article, but why so much emphasis on Romney? His name is mentioned a total of nine times in the article even though he lost.
In fact, the title doesn't even include the "victor's" name as you put it, Ron Paul, who was mentioned only twice.
Focus on the positive - THANK MSNBC
Folks, don't harass the good people at MSNBC. Sure, I'd like to have had more information (how many people voted, quotes from the Paul camp, etc.) and more emphasis on the win.
But mentioning Romney so much is a GOOD thing because they're focusing on his pathetic performance. He's Mr. Moneybags and showed up, but didn't crack the top 3!? The piece is a big slap at Romney, and the first two words in it are "Ron Paul."
If anyone sends in comments, they should start off with a thanks to Chuck Todd for posting that. I wouldn't criticize at all, but if I had something critical to say, I'd balance it out with twice as many compliments.
Correct
Yes. It's called positive reinforcement and we need to condition the media in our favor instead of badgering them to the point where they're afraid of reporting on RP.
