Plea for an Independant Run
There are huge resovoirs of untapped votes out there because we're still calling what we're doing "Republican".
People are still apathetic and only the party people vote in primaries. Many potential supporters are still dormant. They're the people who haven't heard of Paul because msm supresses his name recognition. They are the people that haven't wanted to validate the government by voting. We need to get the national campaign going for our independant run and take our campaign to the masses. They're lying in the news? Let's start our own news station. It sounds brash but that's what the Republicans did at Faux News. I like the idea of facing Hillary and Mccain by the way. Two pro-war candidates from the aristocracy in a time when change is the mandate? I Like our odds.
Plus, many states have passed laws that will kill the diebolds during the general election (one of them is my state OHio, holla) which will lessen the rampant fraud we all know is going on.
Ron Paul's real worst enemy, if he does run as an independant, is Obama because he actually is perceived as anti-war. I don't think Paul could win a Barrack/Mitt/Paul. In fact, i think he could cause a Mitt Romney win by splitting the antiwar-vote. We could also see a vidication of Paul's economic warnings which could do to Paul what The Battle of Britain did for Churchill. I think Mccain/Rodham/Paul/ Bloomberg race would split what's left of the pro-war vote leaving our guy to the mere 80% of Americans that want us out now. Let's call HC Hillary Rodham because she isn't genetically related to Bill and is really just using his name. Do you think she has sex with anyone? (chill)

INDY RUN
I think an INDY/3rd party run is the way to go. Dr. Paul has said that if we keep supporting him, he'll keep running. Well I think he should keep running, but I agree the odds of winning in a brokerd convention are non-existant. Now is the time to switch gears and carry the momentum forward. The book will be coming out in a couple months, and people are still giving money. I know so many people that couldn't vote for Ron Paul because they weren't registered republican. I'm not saying we would win, but it'd be the best thing for the movement.
You are NOT thinking to clearly huh?
Ron Paul is very smart about this. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY, Ron Paul WILL stay in the race for the GOP all the way to the convention.
Why will he do this?
1. By Staying in the GOP race he gets Face time in the Debates. And even if he only gets 6 min, That is much more time than he would get as an Indy. Independents NEVER get to be in the debates. If even 1000 people really hear him in that small time and say wow I like this guy. Its FREE publicity in a Mainstream American respected show.
2. What benefit is there to drop out now to go third party? I see absolutely NONE, please enlighten me as to why your wanting him to do it now. Calling for it is actually detrimental and a distraction. And the sudden force of your statements are an attack that I would expect from a sneaky supporter of the Romney campaign or the Mainstream media.
3. What if we do go to a brokered convention (which is more and more likely) and we can get him elected through delegates. Seems a waste of time to throw all the hard work of everyone down the tubes just to make you feel better.
4. The Longer this Drags on the more people are being woke up to the need for someone like Ron Paul, not just for president but for all levels of government.
5. If and I do mean "if" we are not successful at electing Ron for Pres. at the republican GOP what would stop him from going Indy at that time? When the Grassroots has grown even deeper and wider than anyone could have at first believed. Would it not be better to milk the GOP for EVERYTHING they are worth before going Indy?
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, it doesn't
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, it doesn't matter. Republicans are probably biggest group of sheeple in this country. At least the dems tend to be more progressive thinkers and think outside the box (not to mention even more so, the independents). If Ron Paul chooses to stay in the race for a few more debates spots, so be it. But time is running out. He cannot stay in the race until the convention and expect to win anything there. The GOP will do whatever it has to do to make sure RP is not their man. To stay in and continue to run as a republican will not help him get any closer to the presidency.
Why don't we wait to see what RP will do...
...until then, it's all Republican!
I agree.......Nader may get in too...Rasmussen had Ron Paul at d
ouble digits in a 3rd Party run....I can not vote for corrupt, authoritarian candidates of the two major parties....

I will do
Only what RP wants.

I agree. I couldn't vote
I agree. I couldn't vote today because I'm a registered democrat. How many others like me were there today? The people that are holding on to this idea that Ron Paul is somehow going to win the republican nomination are not living in reality. It's good to have hope and to stay positive. But there comes a time when you have to face reality and change course. I do not want to see Ron Paul still fighting for the republican nomination in May.
It is time to go 3rd party or run as an independent. Remember, as a 3rd party candidate, all Ron Paul needs to do is get 34% of the vote and have the democratic & republican nominee get 33% of the vote each and he can win. He does not need a 51% majority in a 3-way race (Bill Clinton won in '92 with only 43% of the vote).
We have 9 months to canvas the country, to donate, and to spread RP's message to as many people as possible. It's time to give up on this republican nomination, IMHO. Ron Paul's message goes beyond party lines.
Uuhhh,
maybe you didn't see RP's numbers tonight? If he goes 3rd party they will only get lower. Their are plenty of people whom vote the party line, and as a Republican Nominee he will recieve way more media attention than he is currently getting, more Democrats will join up. The brokered convention is his best shot. It seems that a lot of people here don't seem to grasp how a brokered convention works though.

Stupid stupid stupid idea!
Yea, let's waste several months hoping and praying that a miracle will take place and Ron Paul will win the republican nomination is some bizarro set of circumstances in a brokered convention. Smart idea - NOT!
ROSS PEROT RECEIVED 20% OF THE VOTE IN 1992 AS AN INDEPENDENT!
Ross Perot dropped out midway through his run. Many had speculated that if he didn't, he could very well have won the presidency. Ron Paul has one shot at this. He is in last place right now in the republican field. That is NEVER GOING TO CHANGE. So please, people. Stop with these ridiculous scenarios that he could win the nomination in a brokered convention. He needs to go 3rd party as soon as possible or his solid grassroots support will soon fade into oblivion. He needs to shift gears to keep this momentum going. It's 3rd party or Independent run now or his chances of becoming the next president of the United States are OVER!
I agree...the time was NEVER BETTER for a 3rd Party Run!
The odds are much better for a good performance...the GOP base is stupid, mostly old and stuck into absurd ways of thinking....
