The problem i've seen with the campaign....

0 votes

In conversations with my friends and associates a common set of issues are always brought up.

1) Paul focused too much on the negative issues. The economy, the fed, etc. Daily Paul users understand these issues but, the average joe doesn't, hence the McCain votes. Why not focus on the positives of a Paul presidency?

2) Defense. I disagree with Paul on this issue and so do most of my friends asd associates. This did not stop me from voting for him.

3) During the debates he often stood on stage with an expression on his face that made him appear to be sucking a lemon. I like Paul, but geesh. The last debate was the worst, in more ways than one.

Anyway, just venting. Peace out.

Paul is 100% right on defense and foreign policy

That's one of the main reasons I'm backing him.

People say his foreign policy is unrealistic.

Tell that to the Swiss.

It is depressing that so many people think we can continue with the status quo. Inflation will destroy their retirements, but you can be sure they'll decide that the cure is more government. Nixon was right -- no politician ever got blamed by the voters for inflation.

1) Paul focused too much on the negative issues

There's one problem with that. These are not voters, these are people in denial. The addiction to Disneyland is greater than the courage to recognize truth. You can't convert them, they must come purely on their own.

Because they left the party...

Most anti-war Republicans have been so disgusted with what is going on, that they actually left the party. And we needed to give them a reason to come back. The media didn't help us spread the message, basically pushing the idea that RP couldn't win, so MANY stayed with the Democrats to try and get Obama in as a better solution than Hillary. Why not back the guy that the media says can win?

I have heard several stories of Republicans becoming Democrats because of the war and to help Obama. They figure that we can correct the nanny state that Obama will set up easier than Hillary's version in 4 years, and it will at least bring an end to the senseless death and destruction (they are SO wrong).

Just my two cents.

American Empire leading to demise of America

2) Defense. I disagree with Paul on this issue and so do most of my friends asd [sic] associates. This did not stop me from voting for him.

Ah, so you favor the American Empire, complete with 700+ military bases in 130+ countries around the world, while our borders remain open and we are pummeled with the threat of terrorism every day?

The Stalinists in control of the Corporate Military-Industrial Government-Media Complex perpetuate the very terror upon the American Psyche that they purport to protect us from. How does our Global Military Empire serve the interests of the American People when they are terrorized by their "elected" "representatives"?

The buzz-word of the American Empire is "stability." But what "stability" do the American People have when they are terrorized by their "leaders"? Or, for example, are you naive enough to believe that the boogeyman of the American Empire, Osama bin Laden, has outsmarted the western world's intelligence apparatus?

Dude, it's not the campaign.

Dude, it's not the campaign. It's the american people. I participated in the precinct caucuses last night in CO, a fairly independent minded state where RP made about 8%. How does that happen? It happens because people do not want to know the truth about anything important. They want to believe that it's all good in the USA just the way it is. They have their heads so far up their asses that they are completely impervious to reason. I say this with confidence because I was there and that was my horrifying experience. I hope the revolution has a Plan B.

Defense Is Why I Will Vote For Him

Why are there not more anti-war Republicans out there. No conservatives who think the war is the worst thing our government has done in there lives. I am 25. Defense wins championships. Our offense in the war on terror is making us less safe and Dr. Paul is the only one left, Dem or Rep who understands why that is.
