Brokered Convention is Going to happen!! Just as the campaign said it will
Everyone, Ron Paul 2008 told us (State Coordinators) weeks ago that we would not win Super Tuesday or even come close - we are in a media blackout.
However they did say that we could win the most delegates that would attend the Republican National Convention in Minnesota.
If the Convention is Brokered, we can win on the second vote.
McCain was suppose to sweep last night, he didn't get close. Huckabee the big winner, and Romney even won alot of states.
They are splitting the vote, and they will continue to do so and there will be a brokered convention.
I suggest following the strategy the campaign has employed and win those delegate spots to the National Republican Convention.
The average Republican has no clue that there is a different process to become delegates and they will never know because it is a fairly minimal advertised event.
I would suggest to keep pushing just as we always have, and look to see if we can sneak in the back door with the hard core support that we have. This is the same kind of support that wins Straw Polls that takes the delegates and we have that kind of support.

4 Questions for you
1. Since RP has finished in last place in most states, how do we view the realistic chances of us getting elected as delegates? Won't the Republican party see this coming since this is what we all have been discussing online in public for a while, and it's all over RP official site? Won't they organize and try to block us? Wouldn't this hurt our chances at local elections since they know who we are?
2. If we become delegates and then RP decides to drop out, what do we do then? Would we be able to drop out ourselves, or would we be forced to nominate McInsane?
3. Aren't Huck and/or Romney planning the same thing as us, and don't they have an advantage over us since they have already won some states and have more delegates going into a brokered convention?
4. Can we "convert" hardcore Republicans to be RP delegates instead of Huck or Romney at the convention since we couldn't convert enough of them to vote for RP in the primaries?

Suzan here are your answers
1.) Last place means nothing when it comes to sending people to the National Convention. When a state elects a candidate, it does NOT elect those that will vote as delegates - its just says Candidate A received so many delegates to the convention. But who are those delegates - answer they can be anyone. You, me - anyone. Well who are we - we are Ron Paul supporters. So by law, on the first vote even though we are Ron Paul supporters we have to vote for the candidate that won our state. BUT if no candidate gets 51% of the vote on the first vote at the convention, then you are released from the law that says you have to vote for that candidate that won your state. You can then vote for who you want to. Well since I am a Ron Paul supporter, I will vote for Ron. Will the Republican Party know who we are - absolutely not, unless you make the mistake as they did in Louisiana and wear all you Ron Paul gear - go in stealth mode. In Missouri, we had 14000 people from our county that voted in the Primary yesterday, however in the last caucus to elect delegates we had 132 people show up to become delegates. Do YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?
2. If Ron Paul drops out - we could still vote for Ron Paul in the Republican National Convention, you are free to vote for any candidate that is on the ballot in any state. Ron Paul is on every ballot from every state. However, Ron Paul will not drop out unless we tell him to.
3. No Their Delegates mean nothing - for example even though Huck won Iowa, Ron Paul has more delegates going to the convention. So on the first vote there will actually be Ron Paul delegates voting for Huckabee by state law, but since it will be a brokered convention after that first vote they will switch to Ron Paul.
Lets define this: Physical Delegate - The actual person on the ground voting at the convention as a delegate.
Virtual Delegate - The first round vote that a candidate wins by winning a state in a primary. The vote is cast by a physical delegate that runs in a seperate election (caucus) to become a delegate which has nothing to do with which candidate won the primary.
Yes Huck and Romney people are on the ground, but their supporters are not as well informed and organized as we are - they are getting votes by the mainstream media and those voters tend not to vote or even have ever heard of a delegate caucus. Ron Paul is only slightly behind or running neck in neck with delegates that will attend the National Convention.
4. Can we convert hardcore Republicans to be RP delegates, maybe some, but it will be Ron Paul himself converting delegates at the National Convention where many will actually get to hear him speak and look at his policies that they never have before.
Answers
1./ We already have a majority of delegates in certain states, we have just not won the ~beauty contest~ popular votes.
2./ If Paul drops out (doubtful) then you can choose not to go, and an alternate will.
3./ None of the others are planning the same thing, since they rely heavily on outside sources of revenue to keep going... a business will stop throwing money at someone that is not a clear front-runner. Paul has us.. a unique revenue stream.
4./ There are delegates in place that are Ron Paul supporters that have signed up under other candidate's banner, for now. They are ours after the first vote in the convention.
This has all been thought of, and planned since before Iowa.

The funny part
If you remember, HQ stated before Iowa that we were going to a brokered convention. It's always been the plan. Having studied it to death, I found it is a sound one and the only way to do it, considering what we are up against.

we need to dig in deep
we need to dig in deep and follow the strategy. Did anyone really think that we were going to win in a media blackout?
The internet is the only form of media that we have, other than face to face campaigning. This cannot win the election, however it is the best way to win the delegates. It is the network of networks and thats what is needed to win delegate caucuses.
Stick with the plan
