Why did anyone think it would be any different? - Buck up.
Someone was told they couldn't wear a "Ron Paul" shirt while they were voting, then overheard one of the polling officers say "there's another one for the shredder".
In Louisiana, the other candidates ganged up on Ron Paul under a "pro-life/pro-family" umbrella slate to deny him the win that he deserved. We still don't know what happened in New Hampshire, and we never will - "Butch and Hoppy" were put in charge of the ballots in between the precincts and the re-counting location. Boxes were cut up, seals didn't "seal", chain of custody was a joke. There are no less than 15 different ways that Diebold machines can be hacked to switch votes. Yesterday, voters all over the country who switched parties in order to vote for Paul weren't on the rolls. There are so many other anomolies, I can't name them all.
Did you expect anything different? If you did, you are dreaming.
The USA was stolen nearly a hundred years ago, when J.D. Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, Paul Warburg, Nelson Aldrige, E.H.Harriman et al. created the Federal Reserve system. They literally duped the US congress into granting them the right to create and control US currency - and all political power flows from that power. They, and their descendents (both genealogically and corporately), have been consolidating that power ever since. The first thing they did (after WWI) was create the Council on Foreign Relations - which is now the most influential think tank in the US - if you aren't annointed by these people, you don't get to be president (or even Secretary of xxxx for that matter). Their influence over the media is no less complete, they've dismantled every law and regulation put in the books to maintain freedom of the press in order that their cronies could concolidate all of TV and printed news under the umbrella of just five corporations.
Am I saying that every media hack in the country is in the pocket of these robber barons!?? No, of course not. But everyone knows who butters their bread - and anyone who bucks the system is out of a job pretty quick - and the top of that "system" is the Federal Reserve. Anyone who owns a business knows that their most important friend is their banker - CNN knows who butters their bread, ABC and CBS know who butters their bread. Get this, and get it good ... Ron Paul is talking about abolishing the Federal Reserve. These guys are the Top Dogs ! They will not stand for it, they and their ancestors have spent literally a hundred years creating this giant corporate-governmental machine, and they've about got it perfect. Through their tax-exempt foundations (Ford, Carnegie, Rockefeller) and the money and energy they've pumped into the educational system, and along with that their control over the media they have effectively dumbed-down and brainwashed the public ... to the point where most Americans don't have any idea what Ron Paul is talking about when he tries to remind us what the American Revolution was fought for, what our Constitution says, and what the word Liberty really means.
Do you think they will just lay down and let Ron Paul undo all of that work? No way. They will use and have used every imaginable means at their disposal. A vote here, a vote there, a media black out, digging up old newsletters to try and make him out to be a racist, alternate slates, leaving his name off of the tally charts on CNN, you name it, they have done it - and it worked. Personally, I don't believe that a guy of Ron Paul's integrity who could draw 5000 people to an event in Minneapolis wouldn't carry Minnesota. I don't believe it for a second.
But I'm not surprised. We have ourselves to blame. We should have organized a fool-proof exit-polling system, whether that means affidavits or what, I don't know, but to trust that our votes are accurately counted, after all of the evidence of voter fraud and disenfranchisement dating back to Florida 2000, is just naive. Again, "THEY" are incredibly powerful and organized and will not accept a Ron Paul presidency - it would essentially mean the end to their existence. Kennedy was killed for as much.
Two things really, really upset me. The first, is the number of Ron Paul supporters who have opened their eyes enough to see that we need to go back to the tenets embodied in the Constitution, but refuse to believe that there is a conspiracy to silence, dupe, rob and enslave the American people - a conspiracy of the investor class so powerful that it can influence media coverage and an election. Wake up people, the information is out there, and its every bit as bad as I am describing it, if not worse. (Norm Dodd was the point man on the Reese Commission in the 50's, a congressional investigation into the activities of the tax-exempt foundations. His secretary spent two weeks going over the minutes from various meetings - she went insane after reading them. Literally lost her mind - she was no longer able to work as a lawyer after the shock. )
Secondly, it frustrates the h@ll out of me that of those Ron Paul supporters who HAVE woken up (both eyes), many are so furious that they can't control their emotions. They think the rest of America are all sheep. Unfortunately, calling people "sheep" is a terrible way to win them over to your side. As patriotic as this subset of verbally "militant" supporters are and as much as I respect them all, and conceding that if the entire country was of this ilk we would be able to take our country back in an instant, unfortunately we are still in the minority. I'm sorry to say that this collective anger has hurt Ron Paul's chances immensely. The MSM characterization of Ron Paul as "extreme" and a "rogue candidate" is reinforced by this aspect of the r3volution. I promise, I'll be there with you when it's really time to get nasty - but that attitude has turned off and turned away so many potential Ron Paul supporters that I don't have the heart to guess. We must all become expert in the art of "inclusion". The media set out right from the start to POLARIZE Ron Paul and his supporters, and many of us played right into their hands.
There is actually a third thing that pains me, and that is that we need to organize a foolproof exit polling strategy to confirm or disprove the "official" vote count. I have posted about this a couple of times, but what it really takes is for someone to create a website and a campaign to actually get this done. It won't work unless EVERYONE is involved, and every vote is counted independently. I don't have the time or energy to commit to such a project, and so I didn't do it - and so I can't blame anyone but myself. But this needs to happen IMO before we can expect to "take our country back".
I'm sure there are other ways we can make inroads, and other lessons that can be learned - these are just the ones that come to mind. I posted this because I am not giving up, I look at this as a "long war", and undoing a hundred years of corruption is bound to be hard. We've made great strides - let's keep going.
Am I wrong? Let's talk about these things, lets correct these mistakes, let's BUCK UP. I believe that if we do, we can expect miracles.

There is no point in worrying about the erosion of personal freedom that is the reality of our present era if we can do nothing about it. They say that knowledge is power, but that is one of the greatest myths of all history. Knowledge without action is useless and leads only to apathy and despair. So the question is: what type of action can reverse this trend? Writing letters and signing petitions to the same people who have created the problem is not going to do it. Voting for candidates selected by power brokers with hidden agendas will not do it either. There have been many proposals to reverse the tide of totalitarianism but, after decades of effort, none of them have worked. In this address, G. Edward Griffin, Founder of Freedom Force, tells us why; and the reason is so simple, it will astound you. Once we clear away that single barrier, the plan for a pro-active counter-force falls quickly into place. This is the missing piece of the puzzle, the ultimate solution we have been seeking.

Great post. Let's all go donate right now so Dr. Paul
knows we're still with him in this war. Giving up is not an option!
For Liberty!!!
You're right
this battle has just begun.
And is heartening to think of all those whose eyes have been opened through this campaign. If we keep going it won't be long until a critical mass is reached.

Great Post and
I agree totally with most of your points. I especially appreciate you've addressed the vote stealing problem. Frankly, I don't even see the point of winning over voters if the votes are just going to get suctioned off in the real election.
I don't completely agree that a real significant amount of voters have been turned off by misbehaving/angry supporters. The media brought up early on that Ron Paul himself was a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, that he was supported by Nazis, KKK members and just nutjobs in general. I think that was what started a lot of the "supporter hating" among anti-Ron Paul people. But these people were anti-Paul to begin with, anyway.
That said, of course we need to be polite online and in person and not act like an angry mob. The snowball throwing and "F*ck Frank" yelling was humorous and harmless enough to a lot of us, but we had to expect that the media would run with that and use that to say, see, I told you they were all violent nuts.
I'd also like to say that any supporter of any candidate who'd been sneered at and blacked out and snubbed would feel the same anger we feel. The mainstream public didn't get to see the Mitt Romney video where his campaign manager snatched away then stomped on a Ron Paul sign, but people in general can act stupid and violent. But it's us that have to be extra polite and careful to act completely rational, peaceful and courteous at all times.
It's just another thing we have to remember. Every little vote counts with us, whereas with a media "frontrunner" it wouldn't matter or be twisted out of context.
I think the MOST important thing of all is to organize, like you said, a foolproof exit polling strategy. This has to be done in every single precinct in the whole country and is going to be quite an undertaking. We should start off in our local and state meetup groups until every single precinct is taken care of. Now, this will take care of matching up numbers afterwards, but meanwhile, what about the @&^&#$#!! DIEBOLD and scanner machines?
A lawsuit in every state served on the Secretary of State for a machine-less vote? Decertifying the machines? Boy, we've got a lot of work to do by November aside from winning over twice as many voters as we've got now. Think of it as 9 months from now we'll deliver our brand new baby to the White House :)??
Great Post and
oops double post
HEAR HEAR!
Excellent post, Rewind!

Bev Harris is the expert on voting fraud and has organized a group to fight this. We should all join her group and organize. The site has a ton of information on how to help ensure a clean election. We need not reinvent the wheel.
Both of my eyes are wide
Both of my eyes are wide open! I hear ya brother!
Double voting system needed
Make it impossible for one group to cheat when the other group does not have the chance to coordinate the cheating
That's
the idea - checks and balances. We need to independantly check the votes. The Affidavit campaign that someone has been trying to promote is a great idea, but it can only work if they cover every Ron Paul voter (we don't have to count McCain's votes, just Paul's votes). That's why I mentioned teams to get out to every precinct to gather signatures.
Do we really need a notorized affidavit? Will a signature suffice?
Snore... Ron Paul 2008!
Snore...
Ron Paul 2008!
Jason
Ron Paul 2012!
Still here too...
Not going anywhere. Ron Paul's been fighting for us for over 30 years... alone. He doesn't have to fight alone any longer. He has us.
I don't know about foolproof
But back for Iowa and NH I suggested a button collection, meaning people in "the know" would drop a button in a RP collection box or can that a supporter would have and count up the "votes" that way. I figured that would be easy since every house has a loose button of some kind. People could even rip them off a piece of clothing or they could be distributed as RP supporters walked into the voting facility.
Now that would take a lot of volunteers to be at every voting area but it is just a simple idea.
History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.

Thanks
- that's what I'm talking about. I thought it might be good to have teams of two stand outside every polling location in a state and collect signatures from people who voted for Paul. If every location was covered, and if everyone who voted for Paul signed, then we'd have verification. Doesn't seem so hard to pull off, and having those numbers would be so great. Either to tell us all that the official numbers are correct, or not...
I'm still here my friend.
Freedom!
Freedom!

And for all those who can't stand the ride get off, because we are moving forward!!

While there is a truth in
While there is a truth in that diatribe, every 1 person you turn on to Dr. Paul with that message, 100 Republicans turn away.
I was simply speaking to
the die-hard supporters here. You're right, the average Republican will not accept the picture I painted. Still, I was trying to be honest.
If a few people only took a minute to read what I wrote and think about what I said, I'd be very happy. I'm just one guy, worried about what everyone here is worried about, that we are losing our country.
Well said. Glad I'm not the only one.
This isn't a Disney movie. There isn't an automatic happy ending just because we all showed up. This Revolution is going to take hard work and perseverance.
