National Campaign Undercut Alaska RP Revolution?
What Really Happened to Alaska
Why Ron Paul did so lousy in the state he was supposed to win.

The Alaska Ron Paul Campaign was an inside job.
The National Campaign knew for months that their list of potential Alaska Ron Paul supporters (which they got from the Alaska Republican Party) was doctored. Literally 50-90% of the numbers we were given to call in Alaska were disconnected (the rest didn't want to hear about Paul). This list, given to the Ron Paul campaign by the Alaska Republican Party, actually appears to contain purged information (information removed from the main database because of innaccuracy).
Did the national campaign ever attempt to get us (the grassroots volunteers in Alaska) an accurate call list? Nope. Up until the day of the election, we were still being told to call through the same list. One that every volunteer in Alaska had known was bad for months.

The Whole National Effort is a Farce
There was no sign of productive effort and results. No polling numbers went up. Most importantly NO states were won. The biggest reason people gave me for not voting for Paul is that he wasn't credible and they are throwing their vote away. This was forseen months ago. Instead of going all out for New Hampshire effort was held for later. We never gained any credibility. Unbelievable volunteers, the perfect message of freedom and lots of money mixed together resulted in.... 3rd and fourth places. Whooppeee. Turns out the campaign proved indeed they were not credible and couldn't win.
Here in Alaska the national effort was late. They had no pulse of what was important. "Stress Guns" was the message. We'll no kidding and what candidate wouldn't? We needed to pick issues that stressed why Paul was different from the others not the same. His perfect stance on pro lfe would have been good.
The ads that were placed were doom and gloom and made you feel like jumping off a building, not going out and voting. Luckily they hardly mentioned the candidates name so people perhaps made no connection at all. I received automated calls SIX times in the last two days. The teleconference with Dr Paul was screwed up on top of it all.
There is certainly a lot of good that has happened. There is a bunch of education going on and there are about 1000 times the people receptive to the message of liberty and freedom. However this was not advertised as an educational campaign, the stated goal was to win elections. THat is what I donated money to and expected results from.
The damage is that why would anyone else try this? There is no better message, and no one has put in the time making it than Dr Paul. Who would think that they could do better with the message? Why would they try? With all we have going for us there was not any results that volunteers did not acheive.
Unbelievable. I think good ol' boys and friends were relied on and not professionals and here we are.

If true, someone at HQ
If true, someone at HQ should be kicked out the door. I was not happy with the non-communication I got from the supposed state HQ guy here. He could not even call me when I asked. He could not even respond to an email.
Deja Vu
The same exact thing happened here in Iowa. Bad lists. Wasted effort. A database that "screwed up" the night before caucuses that kept us from getting out the vote. Paid-for automated phone surveys to find RP supporters that ultimately had very questionable results. It's extremely hard to know up from down. Was it an inside job, incompentency or dirty politics? Ugh!
This confirms it.
The campaign is running on one cylinder. Screw that Bergman asswipe. We need the Grassroot supporters to be paid and not some life long political hacks!

Cold Calling
What is wrong with using the local white pages? You stand a better chance of communicating with some of the people in the locale. Can't rely on State GOP. I am flabbergasted on how some people think. Can't even think for themselves. Can't troubleshoot. You can't rely on these GOP people. For all we know they are working against us.

I'm gonna pull a Romney and save this olympic effort
WHO'S WITH ME?
Ron Paul Had Alaska
The lousy national HQ, is just blocking a RP victory. I defended the HQ before, and tried to believe we could trust them, but they proved me wrong.
My wife tried to use that stupid list and virtually all of the calls didn't want anything to do with RP. We had more success with a general voting list.
This is politics! Get used
This is politics! Get used to the dirty tricks and stop laying blame - especially at your own doorstep.
Ron Paul's campaign has been infiltrated, just like every other campaign.
This is to be expected. My advice is rely on yourself, and your local meetup group to get the word out. Why rely on people from high up?
This campaign does not use a top down philosophy - rather, from the ground up...which means it starts at the local level.
The more we take control, the better.
The more centralized this campaign becomes, the weaker we become.
Yes, But...
Zoo, I agree with you, but we need to have some accountability in the National Headquarters. Let's get some answer and roll strong into the last primary states!
