Life is like a box a chocolate: My idea to raise money for Ron Paul and gain awareness
First off: This could work!
Do you remember when you were a kid and you sold chocolate bars to fund raise? Why don't we do the same? Here is my idea. Each meetup group buys an average of 20 cases of 50 chocolates from Worlds Finest Chocolates at $.55 each. That would be a $550 investment. Each meetup group sells their chocolate for $1.00. Members could take the candy to work or ask a friend to buy from you.
If you have a small meetup, then your minimum buy could be as low as 4 cases at $110.00.
When people ask what is the cause you are selling the chocolate for, then your answer could be your 2 minute elevator speech. People will be impressed that you like Ron Paul enough to sell candy to raise money. It will help get the word out.
So, how would the financing work? Each member in the meetup fronts the cash for a sold box before ordering. For instance, if I take a case, I will give the meetup organizer $55.00 and then I am responsible to sell my box. If I don't think I can sell 50 then maybe I split the box with 1,2, or even 4 members. When a group decides how many cases the can sell, they place an order. The meetup organizer then can donate the money to the campaign for your group or you can figure it out individually. All you would need is a member who has a refridgerator to store the chocolate and a plan to distribute it at your next meetup meeting.
If each meetup group sold 1,000 chocolates that would be $450 profit x 1000 = $450,000. If each group did this for three months that would be 1.35 million

If you are a meetup group organizer
Please let me know if you have any questions? I several ideas how to make it work.
This is a clever idea
It not only puts you out in front of the public, but it also gives you the chance to casually break the ice in order to talk about Ron Paul. A very clever idea.
Nice idea....and
Jones soda company will put a picture of your choice on its soda bottles for a fee.... and you purchase by the case ...
http://www.myjones.com/
I'm sure that in bulk the fee drops...
They make good "pure" sodas with "real" sugar ... They taste great , especially their Cream Soda ... I guess people could equate the goodness of the soda with the goodness Ron Paul....
just an idea ... prolly would be better for the sausage schnitzel idea though :P

RON PAUL 2012
How about hold a Sausage Sizzle.
At a meetup, all you need is some bread, sausages, sauces. Lot of profits to be made, plus people get lunch if they want it / the public can stop by and as they eat, you can talk to them about his policies / integrity etc. Also maybe have a 'special' or rename the food. i.e "I'll take a 'Bill of Rights burger' please. It contains liberty lettuce etc. ;)
Personalized wrappers
It appears that some of the chocolate bar packs can be personalized for free. Would it not be good to get them personalized with some basic Ron Paul information (e.g. Ron Paul for President 2008, a simple Ron Paul outline image and ronpaul2008.com)? Then people can eat them and keep the wrapper to remind them to check out the website later.
Yes, that is part of it.
You can personalize the wrappers!
I actually uploaded the Ron Paul Hope For America on to a label.
If everyone would get behind it this could really work.
