Ron Paul is my General George Washington
IF any of you are getting a little discouraged by all the negative posts and the apparent lack of progress (ie. winning primaries) that we are bombarded with, I just want to add my perspective on this Revolution. Since I was in high school, I have had a deep respect for those who gave everything so that America could become a beacon of hope to the rest of the world. I have read about the signers of the Declaration of Independence who knew that their signature was an act of treason that would cost them their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. If you follow their lives, these things happened. Children were left to die as prisoners of war because their father would not renounce his signature; fortunes were lost. Following the progress of Washington's army you will find one setback after another. Like Ron Paul, Washington's greatest difficulties were the support of the "mainstream" congress and media while he was fighting to keep his barefoot, starving army enlisted long enough for a decisive victory. France was waiting in the wings, Americans were selling supplies to the British because they had the money the Revolutionary army lacked, his fellow generals were maneouvering for his position. I could go on and on with descriptions of all the things that went wrong, but why? The moral is in the finale. Those who were not committed to the Revolution had every legitimate excuse to go home, and many did. Those who stuck through Valley Forge emerged as an unbeatable army, well trained and ready to follow their leader to victory.
In the last 6 months as I have followed and participated in this rEVOLution, I have given more of my time, money, and attention than I ever thought I would to any political cause. I gave because I know the cause is just, and this is not about Ron Paul for President as much as it is restoring America for future generations. I have NO REGRETS about anything I have done (except reading too many DP posts). I signed up to be a Precinct Leader because I want Dr. Paul to know I am committed to the cause to the very end, and even though Super Tuesday finished the voting in my state, I still want to do my part.
Some say that Super Tuesday is the end. For me I think we are still at the beginning of the conflict. We haven't yet gone through our Valley Forge. Stay with the General. There are forces at work here that we can't see, and I would not be surprised if we get through the convention in September at the front of the line. The world is watching and waiting to see what happens here, and I am honored that I can have a small anonymous part in something that will eventually change the world.
For those of you who are wondering what comes next, keep up the positive posts. Tell us about the individuals who are waking up to what is happening. My success story is one sister who agonized about who to vote for, and after doing her own research on all the candidates, concluded that Ron Paul comes closest to what she is looking for in a leader. (She still isn't a Revolutionary, but she is thinking and looking for herself and that is all I ask of anyone.)
