Ron Paul Wins NV Straw Poll
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Mon, 10/15/2007 - 10:01Although many of the Republican presidential teams had surrogates representing them at the conference, Mitt Romney and Duncan Hunter were the only candidates to speak at the conference, and the victor himself was not there.

So let me get this straight: Mitt Romney, who did go to the straw poll and made a speech, lost to Ron Paul, who was not in attendance, by a margin of 33% to 16%. But note the headline of the story - it is not, "Ron Paul Wins," but "Mitt Romney Loses." Ha.
Amazing none-the-less. Nevada is an early primary state. We can win!

the next step
What we have to do now is whenever we see biased media coverage, attack the web site's sponsors! Copy and paste the article in an email to the company and explain that you will not support such bias when it concerns your freedom and your future!
It's a slow uphill battle, but this is how we fight it.
I was there
I was there from California to do some networking with libertarians and voted for Ron Paul (I didn't know there would be a straw poll in advance and got my vote in just 5 minutes before the close).
In addition to Mitt and Duncan, Allen Keyes also spoke.
Ron Paul was commended by at least one of the guest speakers (I can't remember which one). His booth was manned by volunteers (I don't recall seeing anyone at the Duncan Hunter booth and I don't think anyone else had one) from the Reno Meet-up. The volunteers were allowed to vote, I think ;) The Libertarian Party had a booth, and so did Outright Libertarians.
The injustice is that Wayne Allyn Root, a Libertarian candidate for president also spoke, but was not named in the poll. Of course, that made it easier for people like me to vote Ron Paul.
You can see what the line-up was at CLC07.com .
Mitt arrived, delayed by the press asking him about the Gore-thing (I think Gore won some award). And then they had to bring in another American flag (one behind him was not enough, there had to be two, plus the Nevada flag). He spoke. Blah, blah, Hillary, blah. Then time for 3 questions.
One of the Ron Paul supporters asked Mitt a question about seeing him tell a man in a wheelchair he would enforce federal drug laws against him. The supporter (RP hat) asked if that was really true. Would he really interfere if the state said use was okay? Mitt said he would because marijuanna is a "gateway" drug.
Then, Mitt picked out a man in the crowd wearing an Olympics jacket and allowed the man to speak (a plant?), rah, rah, rah. And off he went.
If this keeps up, only Ron Paul can win.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/
I don't think it's so bad. I
I don't think it's so bad. I mean, the story really is that Mitt attended the Poll, and he lost anyway.
Plus stories de-front-runner-izing the front runners are always good.
go ron
go ron
all things are possible
Typical MSM
Ron Paul wins, Romney comes in second.
So what does the article do? Mention Ron Paul once, and then talk about Romney in every paragraph.
I despise our media masters.
You can get it straight...
As long as the "mainstream" news media doesn't deign to notice! ;)

PS Fred's campaign slogan apparently really IS:

"Do Not Disturb."
