Let's Hit 1 Million by Midnight!
Submitted by Alan.nyc on Mon, 10/15/2007 - 13:5716 days, 9 hours to raise another 3 million 150 thousand.
We NEED to hit that 1 million mark, I think it'll give people a sense of accomplishment and they'll feel more encouraged. Besides, time is running out!
I put my big screen tv up for sale on Craigslist and someone is coming to look at it tonight. Nothing on tv besides biased msm anyway. We all need to sacrifice some cold cash now or sacrifice our liberties under the Clinton/Rudy presidency.
Give, give, give and give some more! Sell crap if you need to.
I say, we hit that 1 Million by tonight!

Silly question
On the main RP site it says 16 days 2 hours.... Here on the east coast it's 9pm and anything west of here would be earlier.
What time zone are they going by?

Ah
Makes perfect sense. Thank you. For a minute there, I was like "hey! we've got more time than that" ...now I feel silly.

Why not 4,5,6?
It's not a stretch to think $2mil might come in the last week... I don't think. Get to $2mil by the 24th...

4,5,6
Now those are numbers I can get behind!

I made a post earlier this
I made a post earlier this month about all meetup groups saving aluminum cans. One person per meetup group could be responsible for turning them in and donating the money. Every little bit helps.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.

47 inch tv just hauled away
Well, there's now a big empty space where a tv used to be. Then again, there's a big empty space where the constitution used to be.
Very worth it.
Will be donating first thing in the morning.

My wife and I just added $2400
Very cool!
Thank you! My wife just did her $2300 - we couldn't afford it, but we'll reap the returns when RP becomes president!
$2 million, $4 million, $6 million = $12 million final quarter
Let's create momentum like a snowball rolling down the mountain.
October-$2million November $4 million, December- $6 million
3,4,5
I still think 3,4,5, is achievable!
just chipped in...
couldn't afford it, but wanna see us bust a million or better tonight. Gonna max out my credit card trying to do my part....
I will let the bills come due later... The investment is worth the interest cost...

Pledge Drive
The solution is simple. The Ron Paul campaign only needs to go to the 55,000 people in Ron Paul meetup groups (and the other 6000 people who want to be in one) and ask for $33 a month for 3 months.
That's $6 million easily raised.
For every person bold enough to be in a meetup group, I guarantee there is at least one person in the shadows who aren't extroverted enough to join one , BUT who would easily donate to the cause.
So that's 60,000 "lurkers" out there who could probably donate the same.
Ron Paul's campaign finance guy needs to get this ball rolling. 20 competing pledge drives with different goals for people and money are not going to do the trick.

David, This is my point all along - see below. There are lots of pledge drives going on and I've pledged the odd $100, and I made it unconditionally, but in the end you have a feeling, they won't meet the targeted number and it will fizzle out. It would be much better for the campaign to ask for my pledge, get my credit card details and charge my account on December 27, 2007, or earlier for some of us who don't care about the time factor. That way, the media will know, Ron Paul is in it for the long haul, no doubt about it.

re: Pledge drive
But wouldn't that mean they couldn't spend the $ till Dec 27th?
By then, with primaries starting a week later, many will have made up their minds.

Re Pledge
It all depends, some of us will pledge the amount immediately, others will pledge it in three installments, and others at the end of December. If you provide your credit card details and fill in the pledge form, you have no way of backing off. I don't think that would be a problem. In all probability I will give more than $1,000 by year end, but the campaign doesn't know it. By doing a pledge drive, they have more visibility and the media would not have any reason to talk about fund raising shortfalls.

Pledge
But they wouldn't have the money on hand to spend on ads and such, correct?

Re: Pledge
They'll have $7 million coming in from the base of supporters. The $5 million in pledged money is just to take the strain off the base and keep the media quiet. I don't think the campaign will spend $12 million in the fourth quarter. That's not Ron Paul's style. See how much publicity the Granny Warriors buy for our dollars. Read their latest report on the NASCAR event and the airplane banner. I send them $20 bucks whenever I read about them. They really are making a huge impact at very little cost. Sorry, a bit off topic.

re: Ron Paul's style
Yes, we all can do a lot of good at very little cost, another area we agree on. As for spending the full $12 million, I sure hope he does. That's why we're giving it to him.
This is our last stand before our country goes over the edge into an irreversable police state (if we're not there already). I'm sorry to sound so doom and gloom, but if you see what I see - the money pouring out of DHS for cameras, riot gear, domestic spying - you may also agree that this is our last chance at a peaceful revolution.
As a man of peace, I see the need for this to happen NOW, before the tipping point has been breached.
One way or the other, beyond Feb 5th we're in a whole different ball game.

Only $100,000 more to reach $1million! We can do it today!
C'mon Soldiers of Liberty! Nobody is going to give us back our Constitutional Freedom. The media is witholding our voices as much as they can; so our Actions must ring even louder than our voices. What do we have to lose by contributing more to Ron Paul? Our country is heading into financial chaos and the only way we can take it back is to voluntarily donate our money to the only Worthy Cause that's out there!C'mon Ron Paul Brigade, step up and be counted.
There is a glimmer of light in the back of the tunnel. If you feel tired or have doubts...don't go by feelings...but do what is right. Get up and get up again. We can make a difference. Already we are making waves, but the battle is only beginning; our backs are against the wall.
Remember what our Forefathers gave up to gain their Freedom. What are we willing to sacrifice?
re: What do we have to lose by contributing more to Ron Paul?
Nothing (of course) but we gain a whole lot!
Raising $5 million in Q3 gave us over $20 million in exposure. Imagine what $4 million in a month will get us!
Imagine for but a minute, then make it reality.
