Importance of Washington State
Romney has suspended his campaign. Some have suggested that he is bowing out simply for financial reasons, but I don't buy it. I believe he is taking a hit for the team to avoid a brokered convention, which is Ron Paul's only hope to win. Look at the timing - McCain needs to win in virtually all of the remaining states to achieve a majority of delegates, something he could not do with Romney in the race. (I haven't done the math and possibly McCain can't get his 51% even with all of the remaining races, but I'll bet it's close - and I'm sure complicated.)
Ron Paul has very strong and wide support in Washington State. This is the second most populous state in the west. McCain NEEDS Washington State. They will try and give it to him, by hook or by crook. Washington State changed its rules in 1988 (it is now a combiination caucus/primary state), which is confusing. Confusion invites disenfranchisement and fraud. The Caucus is February 9th, the Primary is 10 days later on February 19th.

I SAY we (all of Ron Paul's supporters), particularly the Meet-up groups in Washington State and the Precinct Captains there should try to organize an exit poll strategy for the Washington State Primary on February 19th. I don't know if that means using Affidavits, or just getting signatures outside of the polling locations, or what. But we need to verify the results of this Primary, and we need 100% participation (from Ron Paul voters at least) for it to work. We still have 10 days. I think we can do it. If our diligence can insure accurate vote counting in Washington, we just might win it (Paul's support is really strong there). If they pull some funny stuff and we have the signatures and/or affidavits to BUST the perpetrators, it would almost guarantee a brokered convention.

I see 7 delegates on this thread alone. I know other threads had more. How do these delgates fator into the 18 delegates that come out of 9 February?
A running total would be a good thing.

What if it's the other way around?
What if Romney saw the he, the huckmiester and Ron were splitting the conservative vote, leaving McInsane winning with a less than 50% majority in nearly every state he's won? By SUSPENDING his campaign, he removes a large part of that split, allowing someone other than McInsane to win states. How many states has McInsane won since super Tuesday? With the track record he's running so far, now that Romney has suspended, not enough. Maybe Romney saw that his only chance was in a brokered convention as well. There weren't going to be enough delegates for him to win it all if the conservative vote was going to continue to be split. And what was in fact happening was allowing McInsane to win with less than a majority every time nearly insuring him a victory BEFORE the convention. What puzzles me (if this is his thinking) is why he decided to be the one to "suspend" rather than the huckmiester... Just remember this, with a "suspended" campaign, Romney can un-suspend at any time and walk into the convention and receive votes from the delegates. Food for thought.

Yeah, ok. Reality check time: No one is afraid of Ron Paul anymore after Super Tuesday. The votes didn't come. He didn't deliver. How would a brokered convention result in Ron's nomination if he is still 4th in delegates? It would be Romney before Ron.

LAKE STEVENS 15 Precinct Results
1 Delegate (me) for Ron Paul
1 Delegate for Mike Huckabee
Alternates were for Romney and Huckabee.
LAKE STEVENS 10, 1, and SUNNYSIDE precincts met at the same location. Lots of Romney supporters, only 1 McCain supporter between the 4 precincts. I know Lake Stevens 10 got 2 ron paul delegates and I think 1 huckabee.

My wife and I went to the caucus today. We both became delegates and we know of at least one from another precinct that met at the same location.

My husband and I just got back
from the caucus and we are both
delegates.It was easy.Only 10 people showed up.There were 7 delegate spots up for grabs.
Mcinsane got 1 and Romney got
1 and nobody wanted the rest!!So Ron Paul won with 2
even though we were the only Paul people there.
My Caucus Location changed
I'm SOL... just got back from my alleged caucus, but it was changed. Ran into a bunch of people there who had the same problem, though most of them were democrats.
I'm pissed at myself for not double checking the location this morning, but I've been going to ronpaulwa.com all this week to check my polling location and I swear that it changed either today or yesterday.

My polling place switched locations on random
voters (not sure if the switches were dem and/or republican) and making these people write in provisional ballots - West Los Angeles. I was lucky I was still on their list.
did some canvassing today and this evening.
Got home not too long ago from canvassing. I came across a few older folks who said that it sounds like Dr Paul is just what they want.
I have their number and will follow up tomorrow. If I have to, I will drive em to the caucus site even though I am in Idaho!

I'VE BEEN POSTING THIS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.....
NOT EXIT POLLS!! Wrong, wrong. COMMERCIAL AFFIDAVITS OF TRUTH. Have every RP voter sign, give their residence (township, city, county will suffice), and whom they voted for (RP of course). The next day ASAP, get the affidavit notarized (the notary will be notarizing YOUR signature). Then next and most importantly, get the affidavit recorded at that particular precincts county, city or towns recorders office. In 30 days if not rebutted (they never are), you have in your hand a legally/lawfully binding document which will stand up to any and all scrutiny in every court (federal or otherwise) in the nation. A VERY POWERFUL document. The only recourse to potentially fight election fraud we currently have. The most viable approach at this time.

For most of us in Washington
For most of us in Washington we voted a week or 2 ago when our ballets arrived in the mail! Many of us will be watching the ballet counts but there is not much to see! The envelopes are opened and the ballets are stacked and counted by machine and then securly stored away. We won't know anything until the 19th of Feb. Then only 51% of the state delegates will go for the winner of that election. The other 49% of the delegates come from the party and the caucus process. VERY COMPLICATED!

perhaps we are overestimating the GOP's estimation of RP.
perhaps to them, he is only a fly in the ointment at this point, easily contained within the boundaries that they enclosed around him.
perhaps it is a money issue, but not necessarily romney's.
perhaps it is that mccain's fundraising could never match romney's machine.
perhaps it was an acknowledgement by both parties that a protracted internal fight would cripple the finances of both candidates, beyond the ability for either of them to recover in time to fight the democratic cash register.
regardless of the reason, output's suggestion re: washington are right on point imo.

Question about caucus tomorrow
Never been to a caucus, I've read all the material, one thing I don't get, how will I know which delegate candidates support Ron Paul? Do they have to declare it?
Sadly I have been to busy to get out and meet local supporters, just been donating and spreading the word through email and contacts.
