I emailed Ron paul personally about an aborttion topic because it concered about whether or not RP supported an abortion on incest or rape. I emailed Rp about this and got no answer but saw others who got a reply on other sucbjects. I understand he is very busy but this is an important subject to possible voters of Ron Paul.Word is Judith Brown is saying Ron Paul is for exceptions. I don't know what to belive because RP never emailed me back and because of this he lost votes. I am not sure what to tell this woman what he is for or agaginst. She needs to know his stand on killing babies on cases of rape or incest. I am so fed up with not knowing who to belive or not to belivie no wonder people committ suicide because this is just what I am ready to do because I dont know what to tell these people....WHY CANT RON PAUL ANSWER ME ON THIS IN MYSPACE BUT YET HE ANSWERS OTHERS ON OTHER TOPICS??????????????????????????????????

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret

But let me get one thing straight.

You said that you e-mailed Ron Paul himself, and you know you did this because you sent the e-mail to 'his' myspace account? And you know other people are getting answers to their questions via myspace?

I understand there are some Romney people coming here now, but I'm going to ask you a question. It may sound harsh, but take it for what it is.

Are you on something?

Do you honestly think that is Ron Paul himself managing that myspace account? or even the campaign? Have you not noticed there are hundreds of "Ron Paul" accounts on myspace? Have you really stopped to think how it is that Dr. Paul can answer thousands of e-mails each day while he is campaigning? He'd never leave the computer, and most likely no one can type that fast.

Get real. Go look for your answers. You don't need to hear them from the fingers of the candidate. You can find many of his direct responses to these questions on the web. People in responses below have directed you to those places.

Stop and think about this - your post sounds like you are trolling by asking such a dumb question. Your question isn't dumb because of what you are asking, it is that you expect Dr. Paul to personally answer you. (and are mistaken that he has personally answered anyone else)

Get a life.

???????

I was not asking the question for myself.Learn to read.I was desparate for an answer so she would vote for him because she was told by someone else that he was for exceptions. Now that I didn't get an answer she won't vote for any of them.I told her all the same things people here have told me so I was hoping to at least get an answer from the man himself. Seems to me the way most people are answering back here are very rude. So its tit for tat. Your rude with me I will be rude back. It's no wonder people criticize and say Ron Paul supporters are crazy because we are. At least I can admit I am because how in the hell was I supposed to know he didnt run his own myspace account?? And NO I did'nt expect him to sit in front of a computer answering emails. I was merely hoping for an answer so he could get a vote. So from now on I will never again tell anyone anything about ron Paul. I will let all you do it who seem to be much much smarter then me and who have a life which I don't have. forgive me for being ignorant and stupid .....geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

Yes, she is...please let

Yes, she is...please let this post die...It's embarassing with our new friends coming over. Like having a crazy Aunt in the basement....

The Aftermath is NEVER discussed

I was 19 and I had a 17 year old girlfriend. She got pregnant, I told her "it was her choice". She went to Planned Parenthood and they convinced her that she should have an abortion. We're still friends, but it weighs on both of us.... DAILY. I'm 46 years old. The what "could've been" effect is staggering. It was from the time it happened. It broke us up. It was/is horrible. We both now agree it would've been better for us to give our child up for adoption then abort it. Even though we would have had to suffer through her family being pissed off. That seems like a VERY small concern now. It was wrong then, it's wrong now. But I believe that Ron's right, it is a state issue. Let the states choose, and we can choose which state we want to live in.
And, with the trouble this country's in now, we can't be so picky as to say "well, he's against abortion, he won't get my vote". Well you can think and act on that up until they start making that decision for you. Like in China.
We are so far down the road to fascism that it would startle even the savvy DP readers. So pick. If RP has 90% of your approval, then go for it.
Don't let one issue keep us from freedom
Go Ron!!!!!!

belive this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf4awrfKLuM

then go to his offical website and rear his issues, then come back and answer your own question.

Good luck!

He

He voted to lift the ban on RU486.

Allow the State and Local authorities to decide...

Nothing more, nothing less!

Actually...

let the voters of each state decide. the state and local authorities aren't supposed to make decisions. they're supposed to bring those decisions to a vote for us.

Sanctity of Life Act

All you have to do is read the SOLA bill that he authored. It pretty much sums up his position on when life begins and when a fetus should have the benefit of Constitutional protection.

abortion

i love how the same topic gets brought up from those who support abortions: what about incest, rape and mother's health are concerned? those three instances account for 12% of all abortions in the US, about 1 out of every 8 abortions. first of all, ron pauls stance is pretty simple. although he is pro-life, it is not the federal governments place to be involved. he would like to get the federal government out of the conversation, period. leave it up to the states and the states can decide. and ya know what, i'm not going to continue because i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion on abortion and i'm not going to try and convince you otherwise. bottom line, the federal government should not be involved either way, that's ron paul's stance.

abortion is part of the collapse of Social Security

Social Security would not be in the shape it is in if 50,000,000 ...that's right...50,000,000...babies had not been aborted and would be here today helping to support the baby boomer generation...oh, and of course the thieves were not in Washington D.C. spending all the money we don't have....

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

If you hadn't noticed,

Ron Paul is right in the middle of trying to save this country in what is very likely the most important election race in a very very long time.
To expect RP to be monitoring and responding to email all day is very unrealistic.
If this is a legitimate post, and you're serious about your questions, you will find the answers here and on the Internet.

You are missing the point

What Ron Paul believes in the privacy of his own living room is very different than what he will do as president. What he will do as president is follow the constitution and send the abortion decision back to the states. But, he is saying that life begins at conception.
Why is this the only issue people care about? I know it can be very personal but the world is going to hell and it is not all about one person's issue. There are too many "what if" issues out there. The best answer is "what does the constitution say?"

Healthnuttie for Ron Paul

Healthnut4freedom

The lip of truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment...Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are His delight. Prov 12:19,22

You are absolutely right

Abortion is one of those "wedge" issues. I realize that it's very important to some people, but to be perfectly honest, I can't see voting for somebody or not voting for them just based on this one issue. You have to look at the totality of the person and his policy, IMHO.

Rape

I know someone that was raped and kept the baby. She has always loved him, from day one. He is now a normal, kind young man. She was a cheerleader and from a large Catholic family. The entire family was very supportive. She went to high school pregnant. She told people she was raped. It didn't ruin her life.

If you have an abortion and the baby is crying and moving when it comes out, do you hold it and love it for the few minutes it gets to live or throw it in a container and let it die by itself?

I am with christopher x

on this is it really to much of a burden for the woman to carry the child for 6,600 hours of her life so the baby can HAVE a life, and then let someone looking for a child adopt.

Listen up

and I"ll tell you where Ron Paul stands on this. Obviously from his speeches you can tell he does not oppose abortions when they are needed to save the mothers life. However you've also heard him say that he has never in 4000 deliveries had to perform an abortion to save the mother's life. This said, where would he stand on abortion when the child would be concieved from an incestuous relationship. Because of his strong beliefs in the constitution Ron opposes a Federal Mandated Law concerning abortion because the Federal Government has no authority over issues such as this especially something concerning the destruction of human life. However, he also believes strongly in personal rights and civil liberties. So if abortion was legal in some states where the people believed that it was completely necessary to disregard the sanctity of human life and have state sponsored abortion then by all means this woman is free to have an abortion. The key idea to keep in mind here is that a society is viewed by how it treats the unborn.

The Bible did not afford

The Bible did not afford full protection to an unborn fetus. There are several Biblical incidents where the unborn could be destroyed. For example, a woman guilty of adultery could be put to death even though pregnant. This was the situation with Mary, although Joseph, being informed that she was pregnant with Chirst, did not pursue this. Still, it was a legal remedy under the law. Another example was the case of a woman where the husand thought, but could not prove, she was an adulteress. In this case, the "bitter water that causeth a curse" could be administered and would cause her to abort the child if she was pregnant.

Bottom line: unborn children were only qualifiedly protected. There were circumstances where the law allowed them to die with the parent. I believe that rape and incest were among those cases where the law allowed the pregnancy to be terminated.

what the LORD calls Abominations...

Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Proverbs 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, ....

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

taken... in the very act...WHAT DID JESUS CHRIST SAY? stone her?

Joh 8:3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
Joh 8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
Joh 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
Joh 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Joh 8:8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
Joh 8:9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
Joh 8:10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
Joh 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

i guess you would have murdered me...someone that is a fellow Ron Paul supporter...doesn't make any sense why you would want to murder those in your own cause now does it?

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

youtube "The View"

Ron was pretty clear on his stance there. Always best to listen to him, not someone's interpretation. Sorry they are not responsive, they were earlier in the process. I think this has grown faster than they can keep upi n many ways, so it is a good thing / bad thing.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

i will answer you...

i was adopted...should i have been aborted by my biological mother??? i thank God that i wasn't. i know the situation behind my adoption...but to you, it could fit any scenario that you are talking about...

as you know...Ron Paul has delivered over 4000 babies and has said, he has never once seen the need to abort a baby due to risk of mother's health. so in cases of rape and incest....kill the rapist or incestant...not the baby!!! and if the mother cannot bare to keep the child, there are tons of people lined up paying lots and lots of money to get on a list to adopt a child.

anyone of us who are here now supporting Dr. Paul could have been aborted...but then who would be standing here defending the Constitution of the uS with Dr. Ron Paul??? think about it.

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

a little love

goes a long way. As a woman who was a rape victim at age 15 and then was late for my period, I assure you I find your remarks a little insensitive. I was fortunate and only late, and never had to make "the" decision, but I did have to think about it. It is an incredibly complex issue, and we need to be supportive of people in these conditions. No one ever dreamed of forcing a woman to have an abortion, why do they consider forcing a pregnancy on a woman noble somehow?

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

sorry about your experience and glad it wasn't worse...

it is indeed a very complicated issue. After all these years of intense debate and fighting over it, as a society we don't seem to be any closer to a consensus. In fact, rather the opposite.

Perhaps the best solution is as the founders conceived. These are rights and issues best relegated to the people and States rather than imposed on them. For instance, it's one thing to permit the abortion and another to require those who believe it is murder to pay for it. I am not convinced it is murder, but how dare I take their money for it?

This is where preventing Washington politicians and judges the power over such things is worth it as a start.

Also, you can be sure that if returned to the States, some states will continue to permit full abortion rights while others will ban them. So, just on a practical note, the option will not be taken off the table.

should i have been murdered for my father's mistake?

i must live in the land of murderer's...amazing

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

well, this is really the meat of the debate

It is a religious issue attempting to be settled in a secular state.

You believe a soul is infused at the moment an egg is fertilized. Others do not. Freedom of religion requires, unfortunately, that you cannot impose your belief upon the actions of others, nor should others impose on you. We need to be free of government coercion either way.

Now, once a fetus is viable, it becomes less debatable in my view. Once you start killing viable beings, there becomes no reason not to eliminate other humans for having undesirable traits.

Calling everyone who disagrees with your religion murderers doesn't get us anywhere.

are you viable...

naked and neglected in alaska, at your age today? viability has nothing to do with this issue. caring is the issue.

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Ron Paul has said...

that life begins at conception...and as a doctor he is liable for criminal acts if he does anything to put that pre-born baby's life in danger...it is already law that he is liable.

a person who kills a pre-born in the womb by striking or injuring a pregnant woman is criminaly liable for man-slaughter... it is already law...so Ron Paul agree's that Roe v. Wade is not following the law and should be over turned and the decision left to the states. i agree with him.

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

the brilliance of his argument

is that it is a matter left up to the states.

which allows the argument to be determined on a state level.

recent history has shown us that there are some states that may agree with him and you philosophically and some states that will choose to disagree.

leaving the possibility open for both sides to be argued and represented and the issue to be taken off the national stage.

the argument being that the federal government has no business interfering in the lives of others. if the states wish to do so, that is their choice.

and each citizen has the choice to live in whichever state they choose.

i/o/w it's a pro-life AND pro-choice position.

an embrace of plurality, not a debate on morality.

RP is for letting the States individually decide what the limits

shold be, this means that all 50 states get to decide the 'rules" of when to allow abortions /if they should allow them/ or if they want tokeep things the way they are now currently under Roe v Wade. Basically he wants to eliminate the rule that allows the Fed to over-ride states rights to decide for themselves what they want to do on this topic and many other topics. He does not believe we should all live by the cookie cutter rules the Federal government dictates to us to run our lives.....hope this helps.\

Betsy
