Ron NOW INCLUDED in MSNBC Presidential Energy Forum in Houston
Submitted by Yvonne Kelly on Tue, 10/16/2007 - 10:19
Ron, Congressman from a huge energy-producing district (TX-14) in the Houston area is now listed as an invitee to this bipartisan event on Nov. 13:
It's not on the campaign calendar yet -- hopefully their formal invitation is now in the mail....
Thanks for your help!

Message re-sent thanking them.
Do the same, if you sent one condemning. :D
Politeness should be the default
Remember, most people rely on the MSM and don't know who's running.
It will always be far more likely that they did not invite him because of ignorance, incompetence or laziness, than from malice. If you attack or embarrass people about their failings, they become defensive.
When we enlighten them, we should do so in a way that inspires gratitude. Much better if they say, "Thanks for letting me know about Ron Paul; I would've been embarrassed if you hadn't told me." They won't do that if you start out in attack mode (kind of like our problems in the rest of the world).

Are we helping or hurting?
To everyone,
It is very important to get the facts before attacking the media, a group, or an individual. We cannot forget the LOVE part of this r3VOLution.
Questions: Are you taking as much time to thank those that further the cause as you are demeaning those who attempt to marginalize us? In some cases, are you making a mountain out of a molehill?
Move out of attack mode! Its time to play defense!
We've proved our power, and will continue to do so when it is warranted. We've proved our numbers, but there's still another big quarter to go. Our Offense should be used lightly and reserved for rallies, for generating material, and just plain getting the message out! Take all of this deep emotional energy and turn into something positive...
Here's the strategy...
Offense: Make a video, Make a DVD, Make a Banner, Attend the Rallies, Leave the Tax Free Tips Act with your tips, discuss military donations, wear a shirt. Do anything you can do to spread the message of freedom.
Defense: Rebut false and negative information with FACTS, and use the good Doctor's own words! Reserve your emotions. You will never loose or get into any kind of trouble that way. If you came across something negative in the press, present it here. DISCUSS IT FIRST. GATHER THE FACTS! GET A CONSENSUS. TAKE THE APPROPRIATE ACTION! (P.S. When someone corrects their mistakes or admits fault, show them no hard feelings and thank them for understanding your p.o.v..)
We're all individuals with completely different styles and methods, but we can be united by our goals. And what are those goals? To restore the America we love... and to put a man in the White House that will steer us in the proper direction. Beating people over the head with a club is not going to make that happen.
Let's stop getting side-tracked by meaningless blather and opinion. Let them be the ones that end up looking like the idiots. We still have a lot of work to do. Let's get this thing done.

WOW that was quick!
Impressive indeed.
In other news. I just heard Ed Schultz diss Dr. Paul. He just had Tom Tancredo on and he stated " Thanks Tom, you're the first republican to be on the Ed Schultz show."
The Dr. has been on a few times. This mentality puzzles me like the Keith Oberman "8 Republicans" gaff. Rachel Maddow did it too. What gives? Is there some kind of memo from DNC HQ?

In another complete jump of topic (think ADD)
The Dr. got %5 in the latest "scientific" poll from Gallup.

Great Q&A on Ron Paul
Here is a great Q&A article about Ron Paul and his views on energy and the environment.
http://www.grist.org/feature/2007/10/16/paul/
Grist article
Did you notice it states "But Ron Paul, the quixotic libertarian U.S. rep from Texas, has a cult following online second only to Barack Obama's..."? We have the most irresponsible excuses for journalists in the US. Glad for the press, I know, I know...

He is on the list of candidates invited, hopefully we can receive confirmation from HQ

He's been invited! Stop calling them, okay?
If you go to their website, you'll see that the Good Doctor's been invited. So, let's stop spamming their phone and email banks, okay? If we do, how about we send out a hearty "thank you for the invitation!" instead of being rude?
Absolutely! Let them know we are watching......
They will undoubtedly continue to attempt to marginalize Ron at the forum since they didn't succeed in excluding him.
I wrote
I wrote them a short polite request as follows:
I read that you are reconsidering the list of invitees to the Presidential Energy Forum to include all candidates running for President in 2008. I strongly urge you to do so. I for one would especially like to hear Dr. Ron Paul's comments

Funny
It is funny how they can't just come out and allow Paul to enter his way into the viable tier without including a bunch of other guys (Huckabee, Dodd, Biden).
It's like, it would be too much of a message to just include Paul in the top-tier that they need to dilute it by also including Huckabee, Dodd and Biden.
Let's look at the bank accounts and donation rolls of these people to see who has real support. Huckabee < $1 mil cash on hand, about $1 mil raised in the third quarter, Paul > $5 mil in both categories, no comparison.
They need to stop fighting it and allow Paul to ascend to within the top-tier where he belongs. His support and the support of Huckabee, Dodd and Biden is not comparable.

I'm in Texas... can't wait to join a convoy of Paul supporters. This calls for a huge rally. Blowback in action. Our Meet Up group will mobilize. November 13, lots of time to organize. What a gift!

Before you start spamming maybe you should ask RP/campaign staff
or again it could do more harm then good.
It's not on the campaign agenda
Perhaps they haven't gotten around to issuing the official invitation just yet?.
Fell free to call the campaign and let us know their response though.

So Called Top Tier
The so called top tier's haven't even commited to the invite.
Let's have our own Ron Paul energy forum next door!
If Ron Paul would commit to showing up do you think we could get more people to listen to him next door than they get at their function? I personally would come down from Ada, Oklahoma to see and be part of that. And I"m sure that a lot of other's from meetup groups would also do the same. What do you think? Anyone have media hook-ups in the Houston area?
And if he does get the invite could we have a LARGE rally before and/or afterwards? That might grab some attention!
Energy Forum Rally in Houston
With your help, he'll get a formal invite. I have no doubt the area meet-up groups will band together for a really nice, big rally -- whatever happens.
Come on down!
sent my email
im sure they will invite him soon
RON PAUL BATTLE FOR BEING INCLUDED IN THE DEBATE

From the Houston Chronicle article
McDaniel said the organizers limited the invitation list to those candidates who, two or three months ago, appeared to be in the top tier of contenders.
That selection process proved a bit awkward, since Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, is a member of the Houston area delegation but was not invited.
Now organizers are considering opening up the invitation list to include Paul and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on the Republican side, as well as Democratic senators Joe Biden and Chris Dodd.
What hypocrisy! They invited Fred....
who wasn't even an announced candidate two or three months ago. We can remind them of that too.
