What happens when Ron Paul's plan comes into fruition?
Since Ron Paul's message is slowly going out to the masses, I was wondering if people understand what would happen to our country economically and socially should we eliminate the welfare state, eliminate social security, bring all troops home from abroad, go back to the gold standard, and start paying down our debt. I am sure the transition period of these changes would be a bit troubling, but does anyone have an analysis of what would happen should Ron Paul's plans take root in our country and what the transition period would be like?
Based on the results of his message becoming a reality, perhaps people would want to know how their life would change as a result.
So many people say our politicians’ just state the problems and not the solutions. Well Dr. Constitution have been giving us action plans, now how about a message of how positively our lives would be impacted.

Nice one Ron!
Everyone goes back to work. That sounds great to me...
What will happen?
Stocks will gradually go up, steady but surely;
Once our heroes come home, we will save a huge chunk of money because no more policing of the world; some of it will be used to retrain our soldiers toward a new career and at the same time will remain as reserves;
in hospitals, there will be clinics for our beloved veterans of all wars;
better, perhaps preferential social services assistance for our displaced veterans;
we will close our borders and some of our soldiers will manage it; hence no more funneling of untaxed cash to another country;
freeloaders will now force themselves to go back to school, or find a job;
Social security will discontinue its services/programs to new immigrants; (can't come here and become an outright burden);
Medicare/medicaid programs will be limited to citizens only;
we will attract foreign investors to setup manufacturing facilities in our country by providing tax incentives = more employment opportunities;
our country will cooperate and coordinate with other nations in terms developing alternative energy sources and other technologies;
we will be allowed, if we wish, to own firearms to protect ourselves, our property, and our regained freedom, JIC;
we will be free to practice what we preach;
freedom/restrictions in the internet will be relegated to the head of the household;
our media will be more balanced and non-partisan; and much, much more

TimG....First, consider what
TimG....First, consider what will happen to our economy if Ron Paul is not elected. The entire system is, according the the GAO Comtroller General David Walker, technically bankrupt. The Social Security Trust Fund is totally composed of Non-Marketable Government Securities, in other words, there is not a dime in it and the Securities are nothing more than IOUs which cannot be redeemed or sold on any market. The Fiat Monetary System is rapidly reaching its Maximum Possible Life-Span, a terminal point where the underlying debt is so massive that it siphons off all viability from the economy.
So, what does happen to the economy, the elderly, the disabled, the retirees, the pensioners and the rest of us, including you and your family when the Monetary System collapses under the weight of the massive and irreversible debt that creates the money?
Unless there is a very drastic change in this country we will follow numerous other civilizations in history into chaos, social destruction and a break-down of all law and order. When the government itself is no longer able to borrow, to fund its own operations what will you do? If the money becomes worthless through devaluation and hyper-inflation, what will you and your family do, what will or can the government do then?

Ron Paul is 72 years old
This will be the only chance we citizens will get to help him to the oval office, and we're running out of chances. Looks like the GOP has pissed on us about all they care to.......they just about have everything in place to lock in McCain. So what? He's going to further divide the slimey GOP anyway, and no way will he win. Look up the Constitution Party.......I think supporters will flock to the cause if we disband from the GOP.......nobody is speaking well of the GOP these days, and for good reason!

Trouble is brewing with or without his plan
There is a major economic crisis coming to this country that cannot be avoided at this point--it is too far advanced. Ron Paul's plan is to try to lessen the blow of that coming crisis and patch things up for a prosperous future. The United States is held together by a bunch of Bond-O covered in shiny paint right now. If we don't replace the patches with solid steel we are going to literally fall apart. There is no way to avoid hard times at this point, so just prepare yourself and your family for them. We need a REAL leader right now who tell us the truth about where we stand and give us REAL ideas for how to correct our mistakes. There have been enough empty promises and outright lies.
Yep...
Nothing now, not even a President RP and Congress full of RPs, can stop the catastrophic economic forces that have been set in motion. "Ron the Baptist" is "the voice of one crying in the wilderness", warning that economic judgement is at hand!
Totally agree
The economy has long since been screwed on a long-run basis.
It all comes back to Keynes' "In the long run we're all dead" quote.
Well, the long run is here. Thanks Keynes you clown.

IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL! We
IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL! We wouldn't be burdened with excessive taxes.
Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
He already said it wouldn't be done all at once.
He's said that repeatedly. It's a process.
The secret is in the savings we will experience by...
Cutting spending overseas on the Empire. Add in the several other governmental institutions that would be reduced and eventually eliminated. If government is reduced...and peoples earnings can remain in their pockets ( not stolen by the IRS or ? )...then were have posperity
and security again.
Analizing the irregularities in the judicial system and the "prision industry"
where billions of dollars are wasted yearly jailing pot smokers and the like.
Decriminalize many of the products or activities that fill the jails with "none criminals" and distroy families / communities.
Then we may have room for some of the REAL criminals ( traitors ) who are residing in DC.
Get the federal government out of the education ( indoctrination ) business
and the healthcare industry and back into the assigned function as discribed in the constitution.
OK...there is another factor that hasn't yet been discussed ( at least I haven't seen it ) and that is the PRIDE that this country will have for it's new found freedom and return to traditional values. This will inspire us all to give 110% ... to volunteer in our communities and neighborhoods to take responsibility and not wait for NANNY government to "fix" our daily problems and requirements.
Imagine "TEAM WORK" ... for a new nation spirit. I feel it now...and have since I found out about Ron Paul !!!
Discover Costa Rica
I've thought about it as
I've thought about it as well. Please for the love of God lets not really get that discussion going on yet till we get the man in office. Ron's hinted at the trouble we're in and even talked about the ramifications many times. He wants to TRY to divert a disaster. Remember what he's said though.... the hard times are coming it just depends on HOW they are coming. The spending has got to stop.
Do you want it under the guise of Ron Paul and an actual President at the helm
or by the barrel of a gun and a dictorship? That's the only question we need to be asking ourselves right now.
IN PAUL I TRUST!!!!!!!!!
Puppets come and puppets go but the world's stage is getting cluttered.
Super Duper
This is a great question!
The biggest statement RP is attempting to make is less Federal Gov't intervention, i.e., smaller gov't and less regulations at the federal level. With that follows more freedom for us, however more responsibility for us but again increased freedom.
More sound money in our pockets. More shift on business's and private charities to come to aid, keeping in mind this is a transition not a light switch. Most likely less consumption for a while, less consumer debt in time, more people willing to save with money that has an economy with less inflation.
More capital investment in time with invesment coming from real savings and consumption coming from people's savings not from credit cards. Banks being operated more like a real business than an extension of the federal reserve. These concepts are not as overwhelming as you might think. Our encomomy and monetary policy need healthy correction. RP knows there is a 2-4 year correction period but if we refuse to chage it will get really ugly for the middle class. This truly would be a more healthy and stronger way to live.
Um.....
Even Ron Paul himself says these changes cannot happen all at once. First end the war.......then steadily cut spending......then steadily lower taxes........then start closing other military bases around the world........cut more taxes.......eventually getting to the point where the nation can discuss how to get rid of the IRS.........and finally deal with the FED RES.

Our government is running in
Our government is running in a broken state, its actually malfunctioning from a mechanical viewpoint. Ron Paul's changes ARE slow and would take a lot of time to implement but here are some things you can look towards..
You would see the dollar immediately start to improve with the lack of spending.
Without the IRS everyone in the nation would have a 33% raise and the economy would ROAR back to positive state.
Government would spend less and meddle less in health care, since government is the largest payer in the health care market and they can pay any price.. once young people get out of social security they not only get a 14% raise (7 from you 7 from your employer that they would give you) but when they retire we will eventually no longer have government involved and prices would start to drop.
I dont have time really to finish this list at the moment but the positive effects of Paul as president are endless.. his plans are cautious, and slow but they are a virtual plan of treatment towards recovery for this very sick and dying country.
What can he directly control?
The only thing he can do without Congress being able to block is to get all of our troops home. That will allow those who are "drafted" (I don't know what the real term is, but there are people whose contracts were up but they kept them on anyway) to leave. I don't know if he could use those troops to secure the borders because I don't think the army is allowed to operate inside the US. I think he could use the many National Guards for that purpose. I hope he plans on making a big distinction between securing the borders and immigration.
I agree as he expressed it before but immigration is an economic problem. Becuase there are laws that attact leeches all immigrants get a bad name. If those laws weren't in place then only those willing to work would come and I don't think anyone has a problem with that. You still need to control the borders though. Not to keep everyone out but act as a filter.
So the results would be prices from goods from Europe and Japan and Korea would rise becuase those countries would have to provide for their own defense. Our goods would become cheaper since we could lower taxes with all the money saved. Our economy would do better. Also Oil should drop because this would releave a lot of tensions. The dollar would eventually start to recover slowing down inflation.
But I think that is about all he could do on his own. Most of the other goals will require congress. But the good news is if Ron Paul is elected it would mean a dramatic shift in peoples views. Most Politicians are in it for themselves so if they see this they will follow to keep their jobs.
The Income tax/IRS
He can very effectively get rid of this burden from the Oval office. Veto the IRS budget, pardon any serving time for tax evasion, then give the people a choice... they can pay thier income tax or not, but it will no longer be a punishable offence. It's a roundabout way, but give the people a choice, then don't fund the IRS and that problem will be solved rather handily.
~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~
Well, I think it would be
similar to what it was when I grew up in the 50's. There was no health insurance and the Doctors came to your house and changed $10.00. You saved a portion of your income for a rainy day. Family took care of their kin and helped one another through a tough stretch. Neighbors looked out for one another. If we truly followed Dr. Paul's plan it would be even better than the 50's Dr. Paul's truly wants justice for ALL. I like that.

They tried
Dr. Paul's plan once.
A little over 200 years ago. It resulted in the greatest, most prosperous nation on earth.
That's the truth!

Just read about Galt's Gulch
Just read about Galt's Gulch in Atlas Shrugged.
We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by
Summary Galt's Gulch
The theme of Atlas Shrugged is the role of the mind in man's existence and, consequently, presentation of the morality of rational self-interest.[2]
The main conflicts of the book surrounds the decision of the "individuals of the mind" to go on strike, refusing to contribute their inventions, art, business leadership, scientific research, or new ideas of any kind to the rest of the world. Society, they believe, hampers them by interfering with their work and underpays them by confiscating the profits and dignity they have rightfully earned. The peaceful cohesiveness of the world disintegrates, lacking those individuals whose productive work comes from mental effort. The strikers believe that they are crucial to a society that exploits them, denying them freedom or acknowledging their right to self-interest, and the gradual collapse of civilization triggered by their strike.
The novel's title is an allusion to the Greek Titan Atlas, who was described as literally holding the world on his shoulders, discussing what might happen if those holding up civilization suddenly decided to stop doing so. In the novel, the mythological analogy comes during a conversation between two protagonists, Francisco d'Anconia and Hank Rearden, near the end of part two, chapter three, where Francisco (convincing Rearden that he is under-appreciated) tells Rearden that if he could suggest to Atlas that he do one thing, it would be to shrug.
In the world of Atlas Shrugged, society stagnates when independent productive achievers began to be socially demonized and even punished for their accomplishments, even though society had been far more healthy and prosperous by allowing, encouraging and rewarding self-reliance and individual achievement. Independence and personal happiness flourished to the extent that people were free, and achievement was rewarded to the extent that individual ownership of private property was strictly respected. The hero, John Galt, lives a life of laissez-faire capitalism as the only way to live consistent with his beliefs.
In addition to the plot's more obvious statements about the significance of industrialists and mental work to society, this explicit conflict is used by Rand to draw wider philosophical conclusions, both implicit in the plot and via the character's own statements. Positions are expressed on a variety of topics, including sex, politics, friendship, charity, childhood, and many others. Part of this is the theme that its broad array of ideas are in fact interrelated by their basic philosophy, and the significance of ideas to society and to one's life.
Atlas Shrugged portrays fascism, socialism and communism – any form of state intervention in society – as systemically and fatally flawed. However, Rand claimed that it is not a fundamentally political book, but that the politics portrayed in the novel are a result of her attempt to display her image of the ideal person and the individual mind's position and value in society.[3]
Rand argues that independence and individual achievement enable society to survive and thrive, and should be embraced. But this requires a "rational" moral code. She argues that, over time, coerced self-sacrifice causes any society to self-destruct.
She is similarly dismissive of faith beyond empirical reason, in a god or higher being, or anything else as an authority over one's own mind. The book positions itself against religion specifically, often directly within the characters' dialogue.
This is John Galt Speaking
This is a reading of the part of the book where John Galt takes over the radio to broadcast to the country. He lays out most of Rand's Objectivist Philosophy. It is interesting how it makes a logicial argument for morality.

The last paragraph
"She is similarly dismissive of faith beyond empirical reason, in a god or higher being, or anything else as an authority over one's own mind. The book positions itself against religion specifically, often directly within the characters' dialogue."
As a believer in Yahshua (Jesus), I have seen the enslavement of humanity for the last 6,000 yrs. and what the MIND OF MAN has brought to the earth.
I look forward to the DAY when KING REASON is decapitated.
I look forward to the DAY when the SONS OF GOD will set all creation free from the bondage of servitude.
Who are these sons of God?.....all those that have followed the FIRSTBORN Son and have picked up THEIR crosses and DIED to self.
These are the LIBERATORS, these will be the DELIVERERS, for they will be following THE DELIVERER to bring an end to all captivity once and for ALL.......
Jesus is the saviour of the WHOLE WORLD, "As in Adam all die, so too in Christ ALL shall be made alive." (ICor.15:22) All means all. The pagan 'hell' of literal fire & eternal torment is a lie and is SPIRITUAL TERRORISM. http://www.hopebeyondhell.net/blog

that didn't have much to do with galt's gulch...
the monetary system there and whatnot...
for example, in realtiy I can't grow certain plants because someone in a city far away says I can't.
Atlas Shrugged and Frankenstein are my 2 all time favorite books.
