Is there going to be a Feb 28 CNN Republican debate?

I was checking wikipedia for the republican presidential debate schedule, and I see one for Ohio on CNN for Feb 28. However, I do not see it on the schedule on CNN. Are they just going to stop having them? » |

I will be emailing the Ron Paul campaign and asking them if they are planning to demand a debate, in the form of a public statement or news conference. Maybe drop a hint that Dr. Paul is quitting. That way everybody will be there to cover it. Then have him walk up there and publicly demand a debate and maybe even ask if Senator McCain has a reason why he will not debate the issues with competitors. A public debate demand like this needs to be issued SOON. Coverage of the Republicans overall is dwindling, moving toward personal stories about their chosen candidate and ignoring the competition. Please, join me and send Dr. Paul a message. Please, Dr.Paul, demand a debate!!! And make it as public and assertive as humanly possible. This is what presidential campaigns are supposed to be doing, managing the national stage. That includes creating controversy to attract attention. Let the people ask, "Why won't McCain debate?" We know why, and I hope we can find a way to help the people SEE why.

Mmm, I don't know how well that would pan out for the Dr., since he is currently not accepting a debate with Peden in the 14th. It would seem odd for RP to refuse to debate Peden, and at the same time, turn around and demand a debate with McInsane and Huckles.

I don't know if Ron Paul refused to debate Peden, he just questioned what they would debate about, since Peden less than a year ago stated that he supported RP and would not run against him. RP said Peden should debate himself, since his ideas have changed in the last year, not RP's.
Then he should accept that debate as well
and grit his teeth. The message will not spread fast enough if he doesnt get himself on a national stage. That's why he is a candidate. That is his job. He needs to go do it.

A debate with Peden
is pointless... it wouldn't be nationally viewed. The only thing that it would do is provide some name recognition in Paul's district for Peden.
Besides, I liked Ron's response to it.. if Peden wants a debate, he should debate himself.. he seems to be the one with two different viewpoints..lol

I know this probably would not fly, cuz who would actually air it (msm)? But wouldn't that be awesome to see Ron v. Huck? When the brokered convention happens, it could really benefit RP to show how Huck has stolen all of his ideas, and really not the "true conservative" choice!

Last I checked wikipedia, it said the February 28th republican debate is cancelled because John McCain is the presumed candidate. It's not listed on the Ron Paul website event calendar, either, although it used to be. Bummer, I love watching Ron Paul make everyone else squirm in debates!

I was wondering the same thing.. and the campaign site took it off the schedule as well.. Someone is scared for the American people to hear the truth..
