I think it has alot to do

I think it has alot to do with the war machine of the US.

Look who owns the media..
At the time of the first Persian Gulf War, CBS was owned by Westinghouse and NBC by General Electric. Two of the major nuclear weapons manufacturers owned two of the major networks. Westinghouse and GE made most of the parts for many of the weapons in the Persian Gulf War.

The media organizations in charge of vetting our images of war have become fewer and bigger — and the news more uniform and gung ho. Six huge corporations now control the major U.S. media: Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation (FOX, HarperCollins, New York Post, Weekly Standard, TV Guide, DirecTV and 35 TV stations), General Electric (NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, Bravo, Universal Pictures and 28 TV stations), Time Warner (AOL, CNN, Warner Bros., Time and its 130-plus magazines), Disney (ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, 10 TV and 72 radio stations), Viacom (CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Simon & Schuster and 183 U.S. radio stations), and Bertelsmann (Random House and its more than 120 imprints worldwide, and Gruner + Jahr and its more than 110 magazines in 10 countries).

As Phil Donahue, the former host of MSNBC's highest-rated show who was fired by the network in February 2003 for bringing on anti-war voices, told "Democracy Now!," "We have more [TV] outlets now, but most of them sell the Bowflex machine. The rest of them are Jesus and jewelry. There really isn't diversity in the media anymore. Dissent? Forget about it."

The lack of diversity in ownership helps explain the lack of diversity in the news. When George W. Bush first came to power, the media watchers Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) looked at who appeared on the evening news on ABC, CBS and NBC. Ninety-two percent of all U.S. sources interviewed were white, 85 percent were male, and where party affiliation was identifiable, 75 percent were Republican.

In the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, there was even less diversity of opinion on the airwaves. During the critical two weeks before and after Colin Powell's speech to the United Nations where he made his case for war, FAIR found that just three out of 393 sources — fewer than 1 percent — were affiliated with anti-war activism.

Three out of almost 400 interviews. And that was on the "respectable" evening news shows of CBS, NBC, ABC and PBS.

These are not media that are serving a democratic society, where a diversity of views is vital to shaping informed opinions. This is a well-oiled propaganda machine that is repackaging government spin and passing it off as journalism.

I got most of that from this article I found on the net.. http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0403-25.htm

MSM blackout is being answered with

our own HQ Campaign blackout.

Write the Campaign HQ.... demand an audit.

Demand to see the Expenses and Proposed Expenses.

Demand to be able to see these expenses and proposed expenses up on the campaign website and to be able to vote up or down on them from the grassroots... that is from those that gave money.

Of course HQ can do what they wish, but they should at least know what we collectively want.

The FEEDBACK loop, the informational feedback loop will create MORE money donations ... the circle will be complete.

It is too obvious...

Even my wife, who is the last to believe anything remotely "conspiracy theory" related...says that someone must be telling them to not cover RP...because there have been so many GREAT stories to cover...

Imagine if the Obama folks had done the Blimp...

Imagine if Hillarys people had dropped even ONE of the "Money Bombs"...

Imagine if people were Highway Blogging for McCain...

CNN woulda had an reporter "embedded" with the Obama Blimp...

The media usually LOVES conflict...
Why are they ignoring us? Obama and Clinton are functionally interchangeable...and McCain is not far behind in most respects...

RP is the only one out there saying anything different...the only source of REAL conflict there...it would seem that, if they are not being ordered to li mit RP's coverage...it would sure be easier to just cover him rather than have to fabricate conflict between those that are the same...

Teaching Flying...and talking Ron Paul...and Liberty!

I find it incredible

that every single newsperson, political expert, blah, blah, blah, etc....doesn't even mention Ron Paul's existence. Are these peolpe being threatened with their very lives? You would think that at least one, maybe two, of these newspeople would have a conscience and would speak the truth. Just one. That's all I ask for. So what if you lose your job? Have some courage and a dose of ethics. How do these people sleep at night?

Don't

you realize that this is something groups like CFR and Bildenberg have been working on for years. They're not about to let him be heard because it goes against all their plans.

Another reason that can't be

Another reason that can't be ignored is that Ron Paul is against government monopolies, even in the media. The idea that if elected, he would end their rule over the supply of information terrifies them, and so while they have control they are doing everything in their power to keep him down.

____
For the Revolution

-------
"..the government should be afraid its people."
-------

Because the Media is controlled by the CFR

The Council on Foreign Relations postures as a non-partisan discussion group and think tank that takes no positions on political matters, however, it is an indisputable fact that the CFR has held a virtual lock on America's executive branch for at least 7 decades. Its members, both inside and outside of government, have designed most of the treaties, trade agreements, and legislation that have transferred much of America's manufacturing base and most of our wealth to foreign countries (including our avowed enemies) as part of the geopolitical-economic scheme they commonly refer to as the "new world order." It has long been a fact the the road to the White House passes through the Council on Foreign Relations.

Are you wondering WHY you don't see mention of Ron Paul on the major news outlets? Who do you suppose also controls the media? You guessed it, the Council on Foreign Relations! A quote from David Rockefeller who is currently listed as an Honorary Chairman of the CFR on their website, “We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the light of publicity during those years. But now the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supra-national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.”

To check this out, a link to the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations: http://www.cfr.org/about/people/board_of_directors.html

RON PAUL is the only presidential candidate with NO ties whatever to the CFR!

Few Reasons

1. Paul hasn't won a state...yet
2. Paul hasn't done anything too controversial, and when he has he got media.
3. The media wants bad news, it sells, it wants corruption so it can make more money. That's why I think Clinton and McCain are their 'go to guys'.
Because Giuliani failed badly the next most controversial Republican is McCain.

The media is owned by bomb makers, both make more money when there is a war. Why do you think there was all the hoopla about WMD's in Iraq? It's the over-hyping of issues like this that cause wars.

I don't agree that there is this mysterious orginization that are all out to destroy America directly. I think people are too petty and more simple than that.

I think it's all about money, what gets better ratings.
The higher the ratings, the more your advertisers will pay.

But Paul cannot be touched by the lobbyists, he cannot be bought.
That scares the crap out of the media, where will they get their money from if the wars are over and the budget is balanced?

They already are stretching their fill-in time with Brittany Spears and Heath Ledger, they don't report on the war as often anymore because people are bored of the deaths, it happens too much (yes, it's sad).

Ron Paul doesn't joke around about serious issues like Huckabee, Ron Paul doesn't talk a bunch of nothing smoothly like Obama or Hillary, Ron Paul doesn't pretend to be a conservative like McCain.

Ron Paul is serious, straightforward, and direct.
He tells the truth, the truth is ugly, and the media hate him for that.

The media hates Paul because his truth will make it difficult for pundits to argue whether or not he's right. His truth will make it difficult for the spin doctors to keep saying we're not in a recession, or that Iran posses a massive threat to our nation.

That's why he's not there right now. He's busy doing serious work.
Instead of complaining about it, he's pushing to break the wall.

great post. I would

only add that the official campaign doesn't have a clue about how to USE the old media. As many know, the old media is very lazy and relies on whatever is handed to them.

h-daddy

Hillary is their man.

The media, global corporations, and the military-industrial complex anointed Hillary Clinton many years ago. This election has been fixed from the start.

"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798

Maybe because they were "told"

"He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it." Confucius

"He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it." Confucius

Because he has proven nothing.

Pretty simple.

We ned more time, a la third party run.
