I think the Christians that support Ron Paul should be commended for thinking about America and freedom first, before subscribing to some agenda that "social conservatives" have been pushing.
I cringe everytime Brownback talks about "family values" because when you boil it down he is really condemning babies out of wedlock and gays. I've heard him say "everyone knows the best family is a mother and a father". Single parents and same-sex marriages are somehow to blame for our economy, illegal immigration, and all of our crime. It's okay to kill 100s of thousands of foreigners, but for the love of god, don't let two men get married!
Contrast that with Ron Paul's stance of saying that he personally thinks of a marriage as between a man and women, but that he also doesn't beleive the government has the right to tell any two people what kind of relationship they can have, and he certainly doesn't think less of someone because they don't believe the same things he does.
Well, before I turn this into a 12 page discussion, all I really wanted to point out is that Ron Paul does not push his Christian beliefs through his politics, which might not sit well with some Christian groups that feel it is their duty to legislate against "sin". I think Ron Paul is right to protect individual liberties through law and keep his faith to his personal life. He lets his Christian beliefs influence his decisions without enforcing his religion on others.
I guess it wasn't clear, but I agree that the Christian community should support Paul. If you look at his anti-war foreign policy and his compassion and non-judgemental views towards individuals, I think he best fits the Christian role model.
The religious right are just very dedicated loyalists. The Democrats have the unions, the Republicans have the religious right. They just haven't heard about Dr. Paul's message yet.
I'm sure we can build a consensus.
Wow, add Christian Conservatives in, and we definitely could not be considered apathic supporters!

We do make a difference, by emailing everyone about Ron Paul they actually notice. It is funny when an article or newscaster ASKS us not to email or call them. They are treating Ron Paul with much more respect than several months ago.

I agree wholeheartedly. But fundacostal Christians, as a group, are just about the dumbest bunch of people on the face of the earth. Way too many of them are willing to follow anyone who tells them what they want to hear on abortion and gay rights without investigating any further. And as a group, they really don't seem to be interested in the Constitution.
Another problem is the issue of Israel. So many of these people's minds are imprisoned by the "end times" pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine that dominates their theology. Anyone who doesn't want to nuke all the Muslims just isn't acceptable to many of them.
Probably the best strategy is to give out copies of RP's Statement of Faith and trust God to turn the light on.

I'm one of those fundies, too, so watch out!
Not all Christians believe in nuking all Muslims. The Christian community, largely, has been hoodwinked by Bush and Co. into supporting this war nonsense. People are coming to their senses slowly.
Educate them, don't belittle them. They've been duped and don't need to get screwed from both sides.
Hay I am one of those fundicostals and I am not Dumb and I know this because I support Ron Paul. :)
As for the end times it is true that we believe we are approaching the end times but what is still open is the role America will have in it. One of the interpretations has the world splitting into 10 kingdoms that come under the rule of the Antichrist but 3 of those kingdoms are made to submit. I would rather America be one of those that resists a one world government/new world order then be the one forcing others to comply. This is from Daniel 7:24-25 and echoed in Revelations Rev 17:12 -13.
I Personally hope that America turns out to be the equivalent to the land of Goshen in the Egypt plague story. But most believe in a pre-tribulation rapture so they dont concern themselves with it anyway....

Should be commended

One more thing
I guess it wasn't clear, but I agree that the Christian community should support Paul. If you look at his anti-war foreign policy and his compassion and non-judgemental views towards individuals, I think he best fits the Christian role model.
Sweet! He included part of my letter to him
I'm "Hans" ;)
That's not true.

Coalition building is how you win
He has said he will be doing a 700 Club show on Ron soon.
Do not ever do anything to discourage 'coalition' building.
We DO make a difference
We do make a difference, by emailing everyone about Ron Paul they actually notice. It is funny when an article or newscaster ASKS us not to email or call them. They are treating Ron Paul with much more respect than several months ago.
They should, but won't unless we work them hard
I agree wholeheartedly. But fundacostal Christians, as a group, are just about the dumbest bunch of people on the face of the earth. Paleoconservative
Be careful about sterotyping
