Iraq the second Vietnam... Start calling it this, get the media to call it this.

When the candidates say that that they do want to leave Iraq in defeat what are they saying? Given that same premise they would still be in Vietnam. Was it a mistake to pull out of there? No it was not, the mistake was going in and not retreating earlier. What has changed in our thinking? It seems McCain can not learn from history. We have an unprovoked war in Iraq based on lies. Similar to the Gulf-of-Tonkin alleged provocation during the vietnam war. Yet he thinks staying 100 years if that means victory. Of coarse you can never have victory against an idea such as terrorisim. To win this would be akin to winning a war against jealousy. Can you wipe out jealousy? No. Nor can you wipe out terrorism or serial killers. Maybe if we acted a bit more respectful terrorist would not have us in their sites. Or if your not the profile the serial killer wants your safer. Why be the outstanding profile for terrorist?

I think Ron Paul should at the next chance point out or ask was pulling out of Vietnam a mistake? It wasn't. Both countries are better off for it. The Vets who fought there are still not taken care of by the government. The culture at the time were angry that our men and women even went there. They wanted civil disobedience. Many young hippies could not reason why they would enlist or let themselfs be drafted to an illegal war. I am sorry that the veterans from this unjust war lost 3 times. Once in going and being subjected to agent orange, napalm, atrocities, as well as being left there way too long, etc. Second in coming home to their fellow citizens who were outspoken, they did not respect the veterans actions in going. They also were upset with the hideous crimes that were committed. The third loss is the worst of all, the very government which sent them there forsaked them when they came home.

How can McCain justify his stance? RP should ask this. Isn't Iraq identical to Veitnam in this way for the veterans? Who's face is he trying to save? GWB? Certainly not the soldiers. He said he would leave them there for a 100 years.... For what???? to die??? When they come home we should celebrate! That truly would be a victory!
