Huckabee is spanking McCain in Kansas. BROKERED CONVENTION
Submitted by economics31 on Sat, 02/09/2008 - 15:17Politico is reporting 46% and Huckabee is at 60%. This baby is going to a brokered convention. Flood the delegate process. Look up your state and contact your coordinator. http://www.ronpaul2008.com/states/

Rick Perry Gov of Texas
Called Huck and asked him to drop out today! Huck said No.
He know McCrazy can't win Texas!
We need to be all over Texas!
huckabee declared winner in Kansas
60%
mccain 23%
Paul 11%
As James Ostrowski said...
"A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain is a vote for Hillary".
However, there is still a chance that McCain does something so stupid, he destroys his own chances.
Is Kansas a caucus state where the straw poll is not connected to delegates or is it like Iowa?
no, the straw poll decides the apportionment of the delegates
it's essentially a primary where you have to show up at an appointed time and can speak on behalf of your candidate.
Is Kansas
winner take all? Anybody? Is there a link that lists which states are winner take all and which aren't.
thanks.
Read the Whole page to find out please. . .

"Christian" values...
The one thing that impresses me the most about Dr. Paul, is his amazing ability to cut through all the subterfuge with simplistic elegance.
He wields the KISS theory to sublime perfection.
Here's my stab at simplicity: Mike Huckabee wears his Southern Baptist "Christian" values on his sleeve thinking it lends credibility to his campaign.
Don't you think it's rather absurd to imagine he could lead this nation with integrity and ethics when he can't manage to transfer even a smidgen of it to his own son?
David Huckabee was 17 when he was fired as a Boy Scout camp counselor for torturing and hanging a stray dog. This unconscionable act was after 17 years under the old man's "Christian" tutelage. After 26 years under the same "Christian" influence, he's arrested at the Arkansas Airport with a .40 Glock in his carry-on bag. http://www.newsweek.com/id/78241
The trouble with Baptists is they're not held under water long enough.

SAMSTER!! That 1st line was BEAUTIFUL!!
Amen!
Huckabee will likely sell
Huckabee will likely sell out in the end, even if he gains ground. Unless he can overtake McCain, don't look for him to take it to a brokered convention.
RP's house seat must be our first prioity now.
It's certainly possible, even likely
but if he had made a deal, already wouldn't he have dropped out like Romney? Meaning if he has only yet to make a deal, what if he wins both KS and LA today? Doesn't that give him "momentum" and a good chance at winning Virginia on Tuesday? Sure, McCain is likely to win MD and DC on Tuesday, but doesn't VA have more delegates than both MD and DC put together? If Huck gets a big head about this, and I'm from Arkansas and know from personal experience over the past 10 years he is an egomaniac, who's to say he doesn't go to St. Paul with the intention of winning the nomination? Then it IS a brokered convention.
Do you have a better idea?
Do you have a better idea? This is the most direct path to the nomination.
dammit!
Sorry - this got posted in the wrong place.

second would be sweet...
first would still be better in any of the remaining states. how would OM handle reporting McCain behind Ron Paul at this stage? more people have to be paying attention as to why there is this other person "lingering" and climbing in the election results of these states. cnn is currently airing "candidates unfiltered", showing repeats of Romney bowing out the other day and Huckabee speaking at CPAC, without showing the wonderful speech Ron Paul gave to the conservatives. watch it on youtube if you haven't already.
If we can get this to a brokered convention
it looks like the country will shape up into McCain people who hate and/or are scared of Huck's religiosity and Huck people who hate and/or are scared of McInsane's Insanity. If we get to the convention and the Huck people desperately don't want to allow McCain to win, and the McCain people desperately don't want Huckabee, perhaps we could sell RP as the compromise candidate between the two. Dr. Paul would satisfy the conservative's who are afraid of McCain and he would satisfy the moderate/liberals/atheists who are afraid of Huckabee.
BTW, it looks like Huckabee is winning handily in KS including in each CD. By my reading of Kansas' delegate rules, Huckabee should get ALL 39, including the party people who are pledged in KS.
Or, we win it all because
Or, we win it all because we've flooded the delegate process and all vote for our favorite: Ron Paul.
then we need to FLOOD the delegate process, and not just
sit here and talk about it. I, for one, am going to my county committee meeting Monday night. I don't know the lay of the land yet, or if I even have a shot at getting a seat at the District Convention, but we'll see. EVERYONE, google GOP (i.e. Arkansas GOP) and the first result ought to be your state's gop website, then go there and see if you can't find listings for each County committee chairman. Get in touch with your County Committee chairman on Monday morning and find out when and where the next committee meeting is. Attend it and get involved. Unless the Committee is clearly pro-Paul, go as a trojan horse, just claim that you've recently gotten involved in Republican politics and want to contribute your time to advancing the conservative cause, etc, etc, Don't wear Ron Paul stuff. Take the RP bumper sticker off your car, etc. I know it may be tricky if you've not yet had your primary or caucus, but if you have already had it, you have no reason to wear Paul gear or have his bumper sticker still on your car anyway. YOUR GOAL IS TO GO AS A DELEGATE TO YOUR CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT AND STATE CONVENTIONS!!!!!! These are the places where the National Convention Delegates are elected in many states. In many States it is too late to register as a candidate for National Delegate. That's OK. We have people registered for those spots. We need YOU to be the delegates to the CD and State conventions so you can vote for other RP supporters for the Naitonal Convention spots. BEFORE YOU ATTEND THESE CONVENTIONS, contact your State Coordinator and/or National HQ to find out WHICH PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR (i.e. which people are RP delegates and/or trojan horses who will come over to RP on the 2nd ballot).
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO IF YOUR STATE HAS ALREADY HAD ITS PRIMARY OR CAUCUS!!! It should also be a priority for those States yet to vote, but #1 is still Voter ID, Conversion and GOTV.
CNN just announced the Huckster
is the projected winner.
62% Huckabee
62% Huckabee
22% McCain
11% Paul
with 50 of 66 precincts reporting
****Does anyone know how they divvy up delegates, or is it all or nothing?"
Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Kansas Delegate scheme
They have 24 at large plus 3 party delegates who are ALL pedged to the one with the most votes (plurality) in the State, provided that person also gets a plurality in 2 of their 4 CDs. So, Huckabee gets those 27. Then each of their 4 CDs gets 3 each, all of which go to whoever gets the plurality in that CD. So far, Huck gets ALL 12 of those.
Flood the delegate pipeline
Flood the delegate pipeline now. http://www.ronpaul2008.com/states/ Look up your state and get started.
We just need to keep McCain under 42% of the remaining delegates
75% reporting
Huck at 61%
McCain 22%
Paul 11%
.
.
Huckabee is staying in it for the simple fact that
he can keep it from being Ron Paul vs. McCain. Huck knows that if he bows out, the Evangelical will flock to Ron Paul. He has been given the VP spot, and will take second throughout the rest of the primary.
regardless, if McCain doesn't get the nomination
on the first round, all bets are off.
lincoln started with 22 delegates at the convention.
Ron Paul himself says NO BROKERED CONVENTION
From Ron Paul himself:
Do you think he's lying???
We need to protect his CONGRESS seat now!
No he didn't
He said "NEAR ZERO" which means there IS A CHANCE!!
NEARLY zero
This is the nearly factor - if the remaining states don't rally to McCain's flag (which they won't) then we still end up at a brokered convention.
We could really do with winning a couple of states, but it's FAR more important that we have a majority of actual delegates (not cirtual delegates, ACTUAL ones). I get the distinct impression that this is precisely what is happening.
