Let's OFFICIALLY become a MOVEMENT and organize!
I'm starting this thread in hopes that it will grow into something effective. It looks like we are starting to split and splinter apart because of our current situation. However, we KNOW that we CAN be effective and there is still work we MUST do, but to accomplish this we MUST have some sort of organization. This is what is being lost as our common cause of getting Dr. Paul elected President comes under doubt. As a movement we have always known that this is BIGGER than Dr. Paul. Here is my suggestion to remain together and effective:
1. Decide on a movement name to refer to ourselves (I like Revolutionary Movement or Freedom Movement)
2. Adopt a symbol (There was a thread here that was discussing using the American Civil flag)
3. Start an official website for the movement where we can continue to organize and show people we are continuing forward.
4. Define short term movement goals and projects such as getting Dr. Paul to win the Presidency or his seat in Congress, any marches, money bombs etc.
5. Define longer term goals such as electing local, state, and national candidates which meet our needs
6. Identify projects and organizations which compliment our position like FreeStateProject.org or the ACLU, NRA etc.
The main thing is to stay together, and not be divided as we will be more effective this way. Thoughts?
It seems to me...
that the way to go is to continue to educate the public one voter at a time outside the domain of the MSM. If we can show fellow Americans the unfair treatment of Ron Paul by the MSM, maybe we can start a grassroots revolt against the MSM and neocons and have a massive prairie fire that leads to Ron Paul winning the Presidency by write-in votes! Now that sounds as revolutionary as anything I've ever heard!
I do not know how the elctoral college would be effected by a populist write-in candidate, however.
Anyone have any knowledge on this?
Bottom line - I can never vote for anyone beside Ron Paul or someone exactly in line with his principles for president again. I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils again.

Just Like Ron Paul, not the movement himself but just a happy part of it! We want politicians like Dr. Paul and and ourselves. Who could say they are against fair and equal treatment under the law? How could anyone choose to be against that. I do love the throw back to Sons of Liberty but they brought us the constitution. We need to pick up the torch from there and light the new brush fires for freedom. We need to regain our rights, our freedoms and our hope for a brighter future for all Americans. Now is not the time to question our resolve but to fight back with more fury because every American depends on our success. Will you now turn your back? or would you rather die fighting for freedom than become a slave?

I'm in only if Ron Paul is the stated role model for the group. His personal character as a gracious gentleman, and also as a man of peace, learning, and wisdom is necessary for basic cohesion for a group like this. If we start off with anything less for a foundation, this group will not last.
Like Dr Paul said in a recent letter, he wants us by his side. We need him by our side, too.

The acronym works well --- AOL --- every American is already familiar with.

Grassfire is an effective website. We can do something like that. I work with them sometimes like when the amnesty votes come before congress. Amnesty and illegal immigration are grassfire's main concern. They bombard congress with faxes, emails and phone calls expressing their views. They are the main reason the amnesty bills do not pass.
We could do the same thing. When we find out how Ron Paul is going to vote on legislation, we could bombard congress with our views. We can also contact congress to move some of Dr. Paul's legislation forward.
We could also support people who run for congress.

Legal Organization Needed to Replace the ACLU and Internet Orgs
We need to organize all lawyers in the RP Revolution.
They can come under a funded-legal organization that will challenge tons of Clinton/Bush laws and institutions.
The lawyers will get maybe $50,000 per challenge (not a huge sum but enough to keep the family fed for six months while also working on other cases).
As I noted below, neither the ACLU nor the various Internet freedom organizations are really working in our interest. They would probably even try to work against us on a number of challenges. This is because they get their funding from you-know-where.
With such a legal umbrella organization, and some luck in getting the right judges for each challenge (not necessarily an easy task after 16 years of Clinton Bush appointees) we can accomplish possibly more than if Ron Paul were actually elected President.
On the courts, by the way, there are many excellent federal judges like Kazinski in the 9th Circuit (West Coast) and Pozner and Easterbrook in the 7th Circuit (Chicago).
If we get one of those judges on a challenge, we could get a lot accomplished that we had otherwise thought only an RP presidency could do.

Now here is the thing:
1) We would need to fund this with about $500,000 at least
2) Get lawyers vetted and signed up. Believe me, some volunteers will be saboteurs as I have personally seen this happen (lawyer volunteers to take your case for a low fee and then you learn later that they were working for your opponent).
3) There would have to be a central committee of maybe 20 people who would decide on what laws and agencies to challenge and when.
I would probably want to be on that committee, even from here in Munich, Germany.

It is another fallacy that it can only be done by attorneys. We also need people who are constitutional scholars like Paul.

I've been thinking along similar lines for a while
and think it should be solely Ron Paul-type political philosophy that's encouraged (without identifying other organizations the might complement our positions, because they may differ somewhat).
Keep it non-partisan.
We can also lobby as a grassroots lobbying organization. That would take research and possibly legal/accounting help.
It could involve political activism, education; just as RP looks to Mises for economic philosophy, RP is our model for political philosophy.
I like the name, but sort of wish it could be shortened and catchier (but not cutesy).
There have been 180,000 +/- donors to date to this campaign--if we could get those mailing lists/phone numbers/e-mail addys through purchase or otherwise from HQ, that would greatly facilitate things.
MoveOn (not promoting it) has a great organization--they boast of 3+ million subscribers. It would be good, I think to study their model as far as what they're allowed to do under different legal structures. (website moveon.org).
Keep letting us know where we can find the beginnings of this.

This is grassroots,which means it is also quantum-it knows no bounds nor definition,b/c freedom will mean different things to different people. AND,freedom means we have many aspects of society which will be addressed and changed. Some of which may be of no direct interest to some,with great interest to others. The ACLU will not entertain any legal challenge that might benefit white males. They are a radical feminist organization and very, very left wing. It is only coincidence when they come down on the correct side.
I can write a book on the ACLU and various Internet freedom organizations backstabbing Americans on their rights.
I wouldn't be here and I would be cheering for Hillary if the ACLU was a great organization (they are good for keeping porn available, but even there, their arguments in the COPA case seem like they are ready to stab men in the back on that as well in the future - their only argument in favor of porn is that lesbian sites might be affected).
