The Unforeseen
Lately it seems that there is endless speculation about the same old subjects: The Third Party Run (extremely unlikely); A Brokered Convention (may happen); RP drops out (never happen); the MSM is biased (True) the CFR manipulates politics and in the media (close to true). More than one person said that the November election will never happen: there will be some kind of catastrophic "event" that will usher in Martial Law and suspend the Constitution and the Elections. Do I believe it? Some days I do. My Mayan Calendar friend says that we are in for a rocky ride during 2008, and it will continue for another 3 years. Do I believe it? It's starting to look that way.
The best thing that has happened is that the Revolution seems to have come alive. That hundreds of thousands of people have awakened to what a Constitutional government can achieve, and are working toward that end. Trevor Lymon said, in the PBS piece, that this campaign isn't really about Ron Paul; it is about the restoration of the Republic. RP is carrying the torch for us, but we are also carrying our own torches. I try to keep that in mind; my job is to share the lighted touch with those whom I meet.
And yet we have seen people on Daily Paul throw in the towel and just quit. This is like the raw recruits turning tail and running at the first sound of artillery. It is the stalwart who will stand fast and stand together. Most of us are doing that, and it is a good and necessary pursuit.
It is seven months until the Convention. Much will happen. Huckabee will probably drop out due to lack of funds. McCain will draw fire from the GOP and the Democrats; he may have an accident - who is to know? Bloomberg may yet enter the arena. The variables are really exponentially endless.
And yet, despite the variables, we have seen Ron Paul move steadily forward; and the campaign continues to do well. The primaries amount to personality contests, and are of little merit - unless, of course, McCain manages to get the required number of delegates. But then he could stub his toe, or something else.
What we must do is to stay focused, keep the torch alight and not be discouraged by what we think may be happening. We have seen miracles in the campaign and some real surprises (who would have imagined that Romney would "suspend" his campaign?) We're on a roller-coaster friends, and none of us can know what's around the curve. In the meantime we have a campaign to keep moving and others' torches to light.

Let's get the phone calls going
with something like 210 million dis-enfranchised voters there are plenty of new voters as well as disgruntled folks who want real change this time around. The more phone calls we make the more support there will be for Freedom.

What I am wondering is how the video's that we now know about Obama will affect him?? Why have they not been exposed?
Seems like it would serve the public best if we now combined all candidates from both sides for a debate. I'd like to see them all on the stage together for a couple of hours. It would bring better ratings. I can't stand another single party debate.

With so few candidates now, it would make for a great debate, high ratings for the lucky network, and a chance for the public to see them all on an equal footing.
I don't think it will happen, however. That kind of foresight takes brains and guts and the networks do not either. Still, they do like ratings, which translates to advertising dollars.

I thought about this the other day. What "IF" something unforeseen came up regarding McCain's health that did not allow him to continue? Can you imagine the angst we would all feel knowing that THEN Ron had a true and clear shot at the nomination? Same is true for Huckabee (not that I wish it upon him), but "you know what" happens!

And as you said, it's about LIBERTY, not about Ron Paul. If I can't vote Ron Paul in November, I can still vote for Liberty minded candidates on the Libertarian ticket. Either way, we need to continue to pick up steam, and as long as Ron Paul is in the race, I will fight on for him. When he is no longer an option, I will continue under whomever picks up the flag. But fight on I will!!!

The Constitution was illegally and unlawfully suspended March 9, 1933 and the United States has been under martial (emergency) law ever since. Socialist Roosevelt used the Federal Reserve created depression to secure dictatorship powers; Bush Jr. uses the imaginary threat of everyone in the world being a terrorist to illegally circumvent the Constitution. The forthcoming catastrophic event will be Bush and the U.N. ordering an unprovoked attack on Iran. Anyone remember Hitler and his endearing treatment of Poland?

Dear Ron Paul Supporter:
There are moments in history when timing is everything. We can seize an opportunity, or we can let it pass by. Ron Paul’s decision to seek the Republican nomination for president was a revolutionary shot in the arm for the cause of Liberty in America. He was able to reach out to a generation who had not heard a presidential candidate speak to the principals of liberty upon which this country was founded.
Unfortunately, the current establishment of the Republican party has not embraced Ron Paul’s candidacy nor his libertarian-conservative philosophy. Many of us have been inspired by Dr. Paul to work for the transformation of the Republican Party. This is a worthy undertaking, and four years from now, the people Ron Paul inspired may lead a new kind of Republican movement. I applaud the efforts of those who have embarked on that course.
But that won’t make Ron Paul the 2008 Republican nominee. It looks like the Republican Party will do what it has done too often in the past; offer us the lesser of two evils, rather than a true small government conservative. With the odds of a Republican nomination fading the money clock is running slow. That is the bad news.
The good news is that we don’t have to settle for a John McCain, or other big-government cosmetic conservative. The Ron Paul Revolution can march right into the general election in November. There is already a party that embraces the very philosophy of small government that Congressman Paul has brought to the public consciousness. They have been trying to spread that message for 35 years. They are the Libertarian Party.
Even though the Libertarian platform may not match Ron Paul’s position statement 100%, the philosophy, that Ron has been turning people onto, is as libertarian as it is conservative. Furthermore, he has done more to get the word out than any Libertarian candidate; his positions are as libertarian as most Libertarian candidates, he has the most libertarian voting record of any national office-holder, and he has run as a Libertarian before.
This is time his campaign is different then in 1988. He already has an enthusiastic national grassroots organization. His name is a household word. He has already had extensive national media coverage. His campaign has raised millions of dollars.
Not only could Ron Paul still give us the opportunity to vote for a worthwhile candidate in November, the Ron Paul Libertarian candidacy could help restore the Libertarian party. Furthermore, if supporters knew he would be on the ballot in November, they would be inspired to start contributing again.
I believe the time to start the "draft Ron Paul" effort is now. I don’t expect instant results; it is still in his interest to turn us down for the time being (especially with the Romney pull-out and the MSNBC debates on the 28th).
Even if Ron Paul does not win on the Libertarian ticket, the fact that he can count on a solid 5% wedge between the Democratic and Republican vote, will force them to fight for those votes. Even if it means delaying the national ID card until the next election cycle, it will be worth it. Even if it only ends the Iraq war sooner, it will be worth it. The list goes on.
Of course “drafting” Ron Paul, is a poor word choice for Libertarians; as freedom lovers, we need to see this as more of a seduction than a draft. The choice is ultimately Ron Paul’s. Libertarians need to convince him to love the Libertarian Party as much as its members love him. He will need to play hard to get. We should expect that much from a man of dignity. As he resists the idea, more and more Libertarians need to make him feel it is the right choice.

I don't understand why third party people don't just relax until all possibilities in the Republican Party are exhausted totally. If he wins his seat in the House, which he will, and loses in the Republican Party, then hopefully the rules will allow him to switch or to run as an Independent without a party. Only time will get us there. So back off and wait. Like the rest of us. This is the most nerve wracking thing I have ever been through.

First .....Precinct Leaders; we will continue to canvass changing hearts and minds...particularly from the Romney & Huckabee camps, but remember everyone you meet needs to hear the message. We need to motivate every single Ron Paul supporter to take the journey with Ron Paul to the Republican National Convention. With massive support we need to have a turnout that will put every other massive gathering in history to shame. I pledge to make that journey with Ron and do whatever it takes to go to St. Paul.
With massive numbers gathering, banners waiving, people chanting Ron Paul, The Ron Paul blimp overhead, the Ron Paul trucks, rv's cars and limo's driving around the city the media will have to take notice of the empowerment of democracy in action.
Second.....The Revolution Continues no matter what. The GOP & Neocons are hellbent on keeping the War on the world going....we must be just as determined to keep this r3VOIution strong. This is not another human rights group nor is it a non-profit group....WE ARE THE PEOPLE. No fancy name, no membership required beyond obeying the Constitution. With all of the enthusiasm we put into Ron Paul we need to put into the system.
I personally plan to continue to wear my Ron Paul stickers wherever I go, drive my car that has Ron Paul for President magnets on them, canvas and talk to everybody about Ron paul's message, make banners, post signs, paint murals, ralley at my State Convention with fellow RP supporters, Donate to Ron Paul, call/fax/e-mail the message to every member of congress and my local gov. leaders, attend local forums and city meetings, pray, and make my airline reservations...TO GO TO ST. PAUL FOR RON PAUL.
After that we will just have to see.
Dr. Paul is such a humble man he says that it's "not because of me but because of you"....little does he know that it really is about his integrity that we trust to honor the message with honorable action as President of the United States. Because of Ron Paul no other candidate will do....he quite literally would make the best president in our history.

Is our ultimate goal to get our buddies elected or to control lawmaking? There's a new way of doing things that's you've never heard of before. It's just that something ain't working with this campaign. We've got highly loyal fans. In my home town, there are about 10X as many Ron Paul signs as all the others put together. Not a single McCain/Huckabee/ or Obama sign anywhere. Yet we lose. We've got the messege, and we've got the messenger, and we've got the money to promote the messege......we've had record money raising events, we've had a blimp flying around S. Carolina, and Florida, where we placed dead last.......so wha'ts missing? One of two things: This Country has gone braindead, and just really doesnt care about Paul's messege, or the Ron Paul campaign staff is highly ineffective in marketing this campaign. It's one, or the other, or maybe a combination. But IT'S something.

then Undecided voters, who then can be turned into

Then, turn those Ron Paul voters into people who will
either Run as Delegates, or vote for you as a delegate.

Donations to Ron Paul 2008, and donations to Rons Congressional
campaign.
If we do the above we win.
The campaign has stressed this all the way along.
The "something" is that people are not listening and doing

Quite a few have posted comments saying that they have had it, that they are going back to school, or to work, or are simply leaving the campaign. I have seen these posts. It happens.
It is a very safe move because standing up for freedom, regardless of adversity, is not safe. And yet it is necessary.
I don't think the country has gone brain-dead. My view is that people have been kept in the dark for far too long, and are just now beginning to see what's going on.

If the Constitution is ever
If the Constitution is ever "suspended," there will be armed rebellion. The fact that we can even discuss such an absurd idea as plausible should be reason enough to consider taking up arms, but as long as they continue to placate us with the appearance of a democratic process, we'll keep quiet. If and when martial law is declared, however, blood will most certainly be shed.

Thanks. Your positive "spin" helps balance the negativity (I am guilty) and frustration. The ideas of the revolution have been around for a long time and will not disappear.
The grassroots is powerful but lacks a coherent strategy. When we focused on Dr. Paul we did the right thing. But, the campaign hasn't gone as well as it could have. So, what is the strategy now? Where does the grassrootsd focus its considerable energy?
For me, I continue to back Dr. Paul with the secure knowledge that he will never give up.
